Sushi is terrible! I got all -you -can eat sushi and fish was old. Definitely not coming back!

I've been here on many occasions and cannot say how great this restaurant has consistently been. The food prices, quality and portions will help you feel that it was money well spent. A good friend recommended coming here for lunch. I saved my appetite and had full faith in Chen Yang Li to provide the usual satisfaction that we had become accustomed to. We arrived at 12:52pm and due to the popularity of their lunch time specials, we were met with an unusually busy scene. We decided to sit at the bar and were eventually greeted by an elderly lady, who immediately and clearly showed massive disappointment in our decision. I requested a Lychee martini and was immediately corrected in the pronunciation. During the construction of the cocktail, my friend decided that he would also like to order the same drink. After relating the order, the bartender slammed down the shaker accompanied by an audible huff and proceeded to reluctantly finish the preparation. After delivering the drinks, we mentioned that we were ready to order our food. Instead of taking the order, she decided that it was a priority to remove the dirty dishes of some departed guests and socialize with other present diners. We patiently waited as nearly 15 more minutes went by. Knowing that we were in the midst of a regrettable experience, I enquired about the bartenders name and managed to deduce that it is Dinea or possibly Diane. We approached the manager on site and requested a table to substitute for the sheer disrespect displayed by the server at the bar. We were informed that there were no tables available and advised to pay the bill and leave. I couldn't find out her name upon request, as the manager, lost his temper, physically pushed me towards the door and asked me to leave. Please be careful when you make a decision to commit to eating at this restaurant. They, unfortunately, have employees that will ruin your dining experience and in no way be able to justify your bill. read more

Went to chen yang li in Nashua to buy for a family of four. We spent roughly $67. and asked for four packets of fried noodles (you don't get any if you don't ask.)the woman who took the order would only give us two. Good luck CYL you lost long time customers. No stars read more

I used to eat at this establishment quite often and was extremely disappointed with the food and service tonight. We placed an order for 4 different entrees and one appetizer. After ordering I asked to confirm that the appetizer would come out first and the waitress replied they couldn't do that because the chef has already begun making everything together. A few minutes later all the food came out. I'm unsure how that many dishes were made in under 5 minutes. Also, all of the food was cold and the rice was very dry. She also forgot to bring out one our orders of rice. There clearly wasn't enough room on our table for all the food either, since she brought the appetizers with the main meal, yet she kept squishing dishes together making it extremely difficult to maneuver and eat. When the check finally arrived, I left a tip that was 10% due to my dissatisfaction. After taking the bill, the waitress returned and crossed off my tip amount and said she didn't need it. I was appalled and shocked by this behavior. The food was mediocre and the service was the worst I've ever experienced at any restaurant. I would give this place a negative star if possible. read more

SO disappointed. I have been a regular for take out for years (twice this week!) and have referred many people here for both their sushi and Chinese. Tonight I picked up my order and when I brought it to the car checked to make sure everything was correct and noticed I had a side of ginger dressing and no salad. I went back in and told the host thinking it would be an easy fix. Immediately, I was responded to with aggression and was told "I asked you and you said ginger dressing". I explained there must have been confusion and that I said side salad with ginger and when he asked over the phone if I wanted ginger dressing I thought he was confirming the type of dressing I wanted. To make a very long story short went back and forth with him being EXTREMELY aggressive and was told he would not give me a cup of lettuce because I paid 4.00 for the dressing not 4.50 for the salad/dressing combo and it was too much dressing for one salad. I offered to pay the an additional 1$ to get a cup of lettuce and was told no, go back to my car and get the dressing which I felt asinine as it was clearly his mistake. He admitted it was his fault but said "it doesn't matter who's fault". Unfortunately this was the last time I will go there over a 50 cent cup of lettuce and horrific customer service. read more

Service was terribly slow, orders were mixed up, and the staff were incredibly rude. There are several better places in the area.

Mediocre food, misleading advertising (as in website pricing that doesn't always match up with the real price at restaurant, always to the restaurant's benefit), and prepaid delivery that doesn't show up has been my experience so far, and I've given Chen Yang Li ample chances to get it right. Just hope I get my money back for the order that never arrived today. read more

Sometimes I wish I still lived in Nashua so I could eat here on a regular basis. You can get Japanese food pretty much anywhere, but I still can't get over their soups! I noticed they moved since I first posted, so here is my old review is from Summer 2015: They have DELICIOUS seafood soups!! My favorite is the seafood hot sour soup, which is labeled "for 2", but I'd say most people are capable of downing that portion on their own, including a side of white rice to mix in if you're really hungry. My boyfriend has also ordered Yang's four shell soup and the princess soup, all of which were delicious. Pricing is very reasonable - that "for 2" portion of soup will only run you about 9 bucks. Their $20 all you can eat sushi is a good deal in my opinion. They have a wide range of selection, but the downside is the $1 up-charge when you order sashimi, presumably because you can consume vast amounts of fish if you neglect the filling rice. Like other reviewers have said, I think the fish is very tasty and overall will fulfill any sushi cravings. We have had the same waiter the two times we dined in the restaurant, and he was talkative and liked to make jokes. He recognized us the second time, which was nice. The atmosphere is nothing too special, but I have nothing bad to say about it. Both times I was there during the day, they were playing a Vitamin String Quartet mix (if not, then something similar). We have also had takeout from them, and it was just as good. read more

A great excellent experience here at Cheng yang Li Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the ginger chicken with the green beans. Omg soooo good !! the beef and chicken teriyaki Sticks, lo mein, house fried rice, egg roll, Peking dumpling. Mai tai's are great too. Sushi was great. Great atmosphere here and the service was great too. A lot to choose from on the menu. I think this is the best Chinese food in the Region. By far. We will definitely be back here again ! I ate here this evening. The hostess dropped our menus ate the table and continued on her route back to the hostess stand. Our waiter came by a few minutes later & took the drink order, returning with my drink. After taking our dinner order & my date's drink order (confirming that rice was included) he left. Shortly thereafter, her drink was delivered & then our appetizer - egg rolls. Claiming to be homemade egg rolls (I think NOT), they were about average. My date got a special martini which she enjoyed. Our food was delivered, but NO rice made it to our table. After waiting 5 minutes, our waiter came by & we asked him about our rice. He was taken aback, and asked which one we wanted After getting our rice, we were very disappointed with our food. I'd ordered the Mongolian Beef - not many scallions, had some anise flavoring (NOT part of Mongolian Beef seasoning), not spicy at all even though I'd asked for it "very, very, very spicy". She ordered the Garlic Pork - was dry, and not very flavorful. Certainly NOT a place for good Chinese food nor decent service! read more

Went there a week ago Sunday 3 o'clock in the afternoon for adults two children. The waitress who was also at the front desk was not very nice didn't even offer Tea for the table I had to ask for it that's the first thing Chinese restaurants do is put out Tea The food was OK not the waitress didn't even off of fortune cookies to the two children at the table which I thought was strange because they always give some thing at the end so no tea no fortune cookies. She put the bill on the table in the black thing A little while later came over and picked it up one of the women said we haven't even looked at it yet so rude we were still eating. The place was pretty much empty a couple of people at the bar watching football they really need to get on the ball with their attitudes and treat the customers better I know I am not going back. I've never been more astonished by such horrendous "service". The food was decent, however the service was terrible and the server followed us out after we paid, to complain about our party's tips and scream at us. We went for the all you can eat sushi and we're not disappointed. You fill out an order sheet up to 5 different roles at a time, with unlimited sheets, and they bring it all out on one big platter per person. It was very good, and we left very full. read more

Good carry out option. Food is ready after online order for you. Good flavor-reminds me of hot oil. We've gotten food from here, and sometimes the spiciness varies. Occasionally the tangerine and general tso's (kids' favorites) are kid appropriate level of spicy, sometimes they become adult fare. I need to figure out how to try their sushi via online order. Very Rude Waiter and terrible service . Ordered a PU PU platter and the food was reheated and dry . We complained and the waiter said I get manager . The manager never came instead the waiter came and very rudely pulled the PU PU platter of the table almost ready to pull a piece of chicken of my plate as well saying manager said take the food back . But he saw I had my fork ready for his hand . Never again will we go back. read more

Repeated rude service, even on the phone. Food isn't horrible, but very overpriced. I guess that's what you get from a Chinese take out whose website is for sale (also overpriced btw $1795). Very good local spot. Service was thorough and quick. Peking ravioli were tasty. Extra large shrimp were cooked well in the Shrimp with garlic sauce. Some places use smaller shrimp in the 'non-house specialty' dishes, but not here. One downside: the booth we were seated in was worn as were the menus. This didn't affect the food, though. read more

Never in my life have I seen a waiter get so confrontational with a person and actually swear at a customer F*ck was flying out of his mouth and also the manager will never eat here again. The staff was rude ( under staffed) trying to make money by only having a few employees does not work in america only makes matters worse when you are waiting watching your food sit on a tray getting cold while no one gives it to you for 15 minutes. So Unprofessional, also they need to fix their menu or need to explain it to someone when they order their food (mam or sir you do understand what you are ordering) would help NO Reviews to give but I guess 1 is the lowest read more

I posted a review on their old Yelp page, but figured I'd post an update on this one. I've gone to Chen Yang Li about 10 times since they opened a couple of years ago. On my most recent visit, there were a few changes to the AYCE sushi. First off, the price has risen by 15% to $22.99. Certainly not unexpected, as I always figured the $19.99 price point was just to get people in the door and coming back for more. Still a great bargain. Second, they now limit you to 5 orders per person at a time. If you are ordering 5 rolls, that should keep the average joe pretty well satisfied. However, as the nigiri sushi is only 2 pieces per order, I usually like to have a few orders of nigiri sushi and a couple of rolls on my first pass. Not a dealbreaker, but I wish they capped the number a little higher. Lastly, they are putting WAY MORE rice under the nigiri sushi. Obviously, they are trying to get diners to eat less sushi. While I finished all my rice, I have a feeling they might try to charge people for not eating their rice. This will certainly backfire if that happens. You can order sashimi (ie no rice), but it is $1 per order extra. I would probably say this knocks my rating from 4 star in 3.5 star, but as I eat a lot of sushi... I am leaning back towards the 4. Also, while I usually stick with sushi, my family enjoys the entire Chinese menu and the place is always very clean and the staff is very attentive. read more

I am here at least once a week, and have never had a bad dish! The sushi is always fresh and delicious, the specialty dishes are always superb, the pad tai incredible, crab rangoons, salads, rice (fried or otherwise), drinks... I could go on, but take my word, this is the best Chinese/Japanese place you'll find in the Nashua area, hands down! The general manager is also very friendly and helpful, he truly runs a great ship. read more

Update on my recent time I stopped here for sushi. Apparently they must've changed sushi chefs, or how they run things here. My fiance and I came here, and both got sick right after eating the sushi plates we ordered. The fish was incredibly warm, and tasted sour, the avocado in the rolls were extremely overly over ripes, being almost brown. It took us a good 25 minutes to get someone to take our order after we sat down. Getting completely ignored for most of our time there. We also got the pitcher of water spilled on us by one of the waitresses, and not even received a simple apology. Between the terrible service, qnd bad sushi we will not be coming here in the future. read more

I'm rather picky about my food and when I moved from MA to NH I had a hard time finding a place that could make all items well. There was usually one favorite item ordered that was a failure. I then tried Chen Yang Li and I found everything they made to be fantastic. They even made my favorite, Beijing Rice Noodles, that was second to only my favorite restaurant in MA. My only disappointment is when they moved to their new location the food seems a little oiler than before. Take-out egg rolls used to be perfectly drained and crisp. Now they are rather greasy and not as flavorful as before. I still prefer this restaurant over another well known one on the main road due to the flavor and quality of the dishes I've gotten. read more

Went recently with a co-worker. I have been a fan of the one in bow, nh for years but service is night and day. First of all the place was dead and when we walked in waitress looking angry we wanted to select our own seat. Then once seated you couldn't find anyone to place an order with a search warrant! Once we did place orders seemed to take forever for food to come out --come'on san.... If this was my bow location i get top service as soon as i hit the door. So tonight I ordered food from Chen Yang Li they told me the it was an hour and a half wait on take out. Totally understandable since I know they were going to be busy. So I show up about 10 minutes before my food's going to be ready and I wait for about 20 minutes after 20 minutes I asked them how long the food is going to be and they said it should be out soon so I wait another half hour then I go back up and they realize they never placed my order. So then I wait another 40 minutes till my food comes out and they didn't do anything to make my experience better. This has to be the worst customer service I've ever seen in my life I am extremely disappointed and will not be going back there. There are way to many Chinese restaurants in the Nashua area to go to a terrible place like this. read more

I got a menu in the mail and decided to get some for dinner. I got the Chen's home style lamb (my first time having lamb) and I gotta say it was really delicious. Cooked just right. First of all, CJG , great photo and truly depicts the demeanor of the hostess . My daughter and I went this past Friday and as we were eating she discovered a hair in my food I called the waiter over and he took my plate and brought it to the front desk to the manager . both of them proceeded to go into the kitchen. This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Wide variety of high quality Chinese dishes, as well as excellent, fresh sushi. Best hot & sour soup around. I love Chinese food, so I make it a point to go there as often as possible. Not the cheapest place in town, but well worth it for the quality, atmosphere, and convenient location. The staff is very professional. Especially the three top-notch friendly bartenders. (I like to sit at the bar). With so many choices for Chinese &/or sushi restaurants in Nashua, the fact that they have so many "regulars" and repeat visitors really says something. If you don't know this place, try it. Great food all around. Whether you want Chinese or Sushi, you won't be disappointed. The all you can eat sushi lunch is a nice perk as well (just be sure to eat everything you order!). I have yet to find another restaurant in the area to offer the same quality and value. read more
