Play here frequently. The course is in excellent condition. The owner definitely reinvests in the upkeep and maintenance of the courses. The greens are fast. Fairways are narrow, so drives are frequently in the adjacent fairway. The clubhouse is very nice, clean and well furnished. The staff are very friendly, as is Glen the owener. When I posted this review on Facebook, I got blocked access to the page. This was my first time on this course. The course was in good shape. The customer service when we checked in and had with the starter was great.  I came across an inappropriate issue  between an older gentleman golfer and the teenage golfer I was playing with .  This guy was WAY out of line on how he approached and talked to him. I asked to speak to the manager/owner and he was on a week vacation. When I got a call back it was not professional honestly offensive that he would not take this seriously. Just said he would look into it this and just hung up and never returned my call back. You would think from management you would get a free round of golf for a better experience. We all handle out issues in a different way. This was not a professional way, and this was the right way to resolve this issue. read more

I must say I was pleasantly surprised, went out for 18 early afternoon during the week and it was nice and quiet. We really only got hung up behind some slow play from the 15th on but hey that's what the ranger should be looking for. Easy to setup a tee time through the courses website/or call, I opened an account first online using email then had called in for a time after seeing what was available. The course was well groomed, greens were fast (had to adjust) and the sand traps were hungry!. Play was fun though, narrow in some spots some hills and valleys, boundaries clearly marked. The ability to drive the green on a few holes just might make your day, also the par 3s were just right. I did really appreciate the condition of not just the course but the Infastructure. The bridges, stone work, paths etc. were in really good shape and gave the course a nice feel. Landscaping was pleasant to look at, could use a little tree limb cleaning in a couple spots but overall nice job. Bathrooms were clean and well placed. Could use a little more directional signage but not entirely difficult to figure out (course layout card affixed in the cart perhaps). Staff was friendly and polite, one gentlemen saw us pulling out our bags and asked if we were going to use a cart and drove one over to us, don't really see that in this neck of the woods so that was worth the 5th star! Overall was a good experience. Look forward to going back now that I know what to expect. Courses seem to be disappearing and turning into neighborhoods. Let's face it no course is going to meet everyone's expectations, but it is the ones that go the extra mile that will survive and this one won over another golfer. Thanks read more

Condition. This course is in beautiful condition. The landscape/hardscape is gorgeous and very well maintained. The clubhouse is pristine and a great place for food or bar drinks. Golf This course layout sucks. The course is short - most holes are short par 4s and one short par 5. The fairways are way too narrow. On many holes, the fairway is barely 20 yards wide. For example: On the second hole, I hit hybrid and was barely off the fairway - maybe 3 yards. I had no approach into the green because tree branches hung over the entire rough so you couldn't do anything but bump and run. The other holes on the front nine are even worse. Some holes had fairways only about 10/15 yards wide and STILL had trees overhanging the edges or out of bounds fencing with a gulley descending to water. On one hole, my friend had a tee shot that was left center of the fairway and STILL could not hit into the green because a large oak was hanging over the fairway. It is atrocious. I could cite numerous examples of how this course is unplayable on many holes. Target golf courses have landing spots designed for play. This course has a par 5 where the 2nd shot landing spot is literally 10 yards wide with OB water on the right edge of the fairway. It is just stupid. There are plenty of tight courses around SE Mass. Maplegate, Wentworth Hills, Norton CC - this layout is absurd. Play The play at this course is RIDICULOUSLY slow. Being short and low priced, it is attractive to seniors and women that are short hitters. Unfortunately, they have no sense of ready golf. This is no exaggeration. We were stuck behind a set of seniors that literally took 15 to 20 minutes a hole. When they dropped at the first nine, they let out a group of women in front of us that played just as slow. I mean absurdly slow! My tee time was 1:18 and we didn't finish until almost 6. Value The green fees are cheap. Conclusion Unless you are a beginner and desperate to get a tee time or a senior citizen with all day to waste, this course should be avoided. read more

Can't say enough good things about this course. The fairways are always immaculate, the course is challenging but playable and the rates are very reasonable for a round of 9 or 18. The pace of play is sometimes a bit slow and I wish they would send a Marshall around every now and again, but overall I can't recommend it enough! read more

I play here about once a month. However, after yesterday's round with my Buddy and his two friends, they made me think twice about what nice little course it truly is. My buddies two friends kept on saying how nice the course was and after thinking about it, I figured I'd write a little review. The course is truly in great shape. Not long at all....with 1 par 3 on the front and 3 par 3's on the back. Actually one par 4 on the front could be another par 3 too at only 230 yards. It is somewhat narrow on a 3 holes and you could lose some balls in the woods. However the other holes that are narrow let you hit into other fairways and it ls in play...so for me, that's a bonus. Great deck to sit at after your round and have a few beers with some food. Hot Dogs, Grilled Cheese and Buffalo Tenders are all good. Depending who is behind the bar and handling the golf register too..,all pthe same area... Will depend on your service. Some are great and others like to talk to the locals and ignore you. No driving range but does have a putting green. Also, the biggest possibly issue for some at Chemawa is they don't have Tee Times. First come/first serve. Also, lots of leagues. Not a big time course just very enjoyable! read more

Don't turn this course down because it's short or doesn't have the normal 2 par 3s 2 par 5s per side. This course is in beautiful condition. Greens were amazing, the fairways are definitely narrow and that combined with the hole designs and thick rough make it challenging even without the distance. (We played the front 9 and I never hit my driver there is only 2 holes on the entire course over 400yards). A great course to learn to manage your game, and think your way through the course. Or better yet forget what I said, I don't want you taking my tee time. read more

I will not play this course again. It is well maintained but had an extremely aggravating experience when I played this course last Friday morning. Thought it would be a fun little round to play just before 7:00am with my girlfriend...instead it turned into the maintenance show. A few holes in we had to wait for the groundskeeper to finish relocating multiple holes. Then shortly thereafter we had to wait for lawnmowers to get out of the way for roughly 15 holes. Lawnmowers who were extremely rude, wouldn't move out of the way and really didn't care about us. At one point we had 3 lawnmowers on the same fairway just staring at us. Needless to say we always felt rushed and it was an extremely annoying experience. I would not recommend you try to sneak in an early round on a Friday morning. read more

The course itself is in great shape given the lack of water we've had this summer. It's a short yet very challenging course. Plan on losing a few balls here and there. The only complaint we had it was when we started playing the back nine. The starter pressured us to stop playing as it was 4:15pm and he was telling us that we would not be able to finish more than 2 or 3 holes this close at dusk?? As of this writing the sunsets approximately 6:20 PM more than adequate time to finish. He gave us a couple different options one of which included returning the carts and then walking, or going to the front desk and asking for our money back for the final nine holes. It was abundantly clear that he wanted to get out of there early and he was asking the other golfers behind us the same thing. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think if you pay for 18 holes you should be able to play 18 holes. I think we're all smart enough to come in when it gets dark. It wasn't even close to the sun setting and he mentioned it to us three different times and was really pressuring us to leave. We told him we drove an hour and a half to meet our friends there and we wanted to play our 18 holes. He got in his cart and drove away. We finished our round with plenty of daylight left and when we returning our cart he just looked at us and did not say a word. Maybe he had some place he had to be, maybe just a bad day. Great reasonably priced course to play at right over the RI border in Attleboro. It is a more challenging course compared to your average public course with narrow fairways, thick roughs and well groomed sand traps. the course was in great condition for late August. The greens were well maintained and challenging. The course also offers a lot of variety on their holes and play into the landscape well. The staff was very friendly and we couldn't beat the price. On Mondays, they have free carts in the morning. So we played 18 holes with a cart for $32!! We grabbed lunch in the clubhouse after and the food was very good and beer was cheap. The only drawback is that they do not have tee times during the week so there was about 30 minute wait to get off the first tee. I will definitely be back to play again! read more

The starter staff and clubhouse staff (especially) have a lot to be desired. They are impersonal, grumpy, and rude the last few times I've gone. The starter ignores tee times (that they force you to make), and the last 3 times I've golfed there, I started a minimum of a half hour late. In the clubhouse, after our round, I asked the bartender to put the Red Sox game on one of the 4 TVs they have... and she actually told me no!! LOL Then gave me a frozen beer! So my friend and I got pissed and went around the corner to Ruby Tuesday's and spent $70 on food and drinks watching the Sox game for 3 hours with a sweet bartender!! Bad for business Chemawa! The course itself is a bit of a "helmet" course, but a fun layout nonetheless, which is why I keep (kept) going back. But the last 3 experiences with the staff, will prevent me from going again this year. A word to the owners... In a day and age where social media is so strong, upsetting 1 client can mean hundreds instantly! You need to take a hard look at the people you hire. Customer service is crucial to your clubhouses business, so a fun, pleasent, happy staff will do wonders for your bottom line! You're entire staff is miserable and borderline antisocial. read more

Don't let the short distance stop you. I did for the longest time, but I was missing out. They have done an excellent job with this course. Tees, greens, fairways all kept really well. Lots of elevation changes, sloping greens, traps and water to make life interesting. Greens could be cut shorter for a little more speed. Great experience tho, I will definitely be back. read more

I played Chemawa very early in the season. I think early April. I payed $50 for 18 with a cart. For the time of year, and after the winter we had, I was shocked at the excellent condition of the course. Here I am a month and a half later playing courses in much worse condition. Chemawa is a shorter course. About 5,000 yards. This is a great place to play if you like to play par 3's but wouldn't mind being able to break out your driver. Some say the fairways are tight but I play with a terrible slice and didn't lose too many balls at all so it can't be that bad. If anyone is capable of losing a dozen balls out there it is me. I really liked the layout of this course. Plenty of interesting holes. Hills, bunkers, nice water hazards. Uphill and downhill tee shots. Nice flower beds and stone walls. Fountains. Even the fences on the course seem classy. Nice bathroom facilities on the course, not just port-a-pottys. A phone on the 9th tee to call in your lunch order. After our round we went into the clubhouse bar and grill. I had a Yuengling and the prime rib sandwich with fries which was very good. Since it's a short course, after lunch and a few beers i felt like I wouldn't mind going out for another 18. I enjoyed spending the day out there and in my opinion the course has a lot of very nice touches. It also seems to be very well maintained. It's a nice in-between course for people who have outgrown the par 3's but don't feel ready for a full fairway course. I will definitely be back. I had a lot of fun. read more

id give it a 2 1/2 stars if I could because the condition of the course was really good. I didnt enjoy this course because of a few reasons. 1. unless your a great golfer you should bring a dozen balls here, you will loose any that you dont hit dead straight. 2. lots of activity while playing. a tournament, tons of regulars and waits at all the holes, and the greenskeepers at every hole on the front nine cutting away etc...was quite distracting. The course personnel were friendly, and the conditions were good otherwise. That said it is not too bad of a price during the week, but it is a small course. kinda like an executive par 3 but averaging around 200 a hole so they are par 4s. no par 5 that i remember, but then again, i was hoping the game would end and to just be done with it. I probaly would never play here again. Too many regulars and tournament activity to enjoy a game. read more

I have been there two times and the woman at the front Denise has been extremely rude not just to me but two others at the establishment. In my younger years I played at some of the finest golf courses that this nation has to offer. I've been within 10 yards of Tiger Woods. They told me I was going to be the next Arnold Palmer...then they wouldn't let me play on the Pro Tour. Well I'm older now, retired and living the life and I have been playing different courses in the area for some time. My experience at Chemawa was mediocre at best. For starters, THE starter did nothing but harass me. I paid for my round and I was told I needed to have my ticket "checked" by the starter. He was sitting at the bar in the clubhouse mounding a plate of fries, then when it came time to "check" my round. The guy literally took my receipt and ripped it. Essentially the guy rips tickets all day. And that's not where it ended...I began practicing on the putting green and as I was chipping some balls with my pitching wedge, he walks by and tells me to "be careful". Be careful? I've been golfing longer than you, guy! I'm not going to destroy your green don't worry. So on to my round...the greens are beautiful. The fairways are great! I was highly impressed with the maintenance of the course. You don't find that too often at New England courses. But of course instead of enjoying the beautiful greens and fairways, the staaaahhhtah was there staring and watching me. I don't need to be babysat, thank you. So that drove me up the wall. And it continued on. It was so bad that I played 9 holes after paying for 18. I went back in and was given a refund. The poor girl behind the bar was so nice and sure enough guess who sat down at the bar and had a big beer, the starter. And he started making rude, arrogant comments at the woman there. Great golf course, great people except him. Get rid of him and that place would be my home away from home. It's honestly too bad that some guy rippin tickets can bring such a nice place down.. read more

I can't say enough Good about the Golf Course. It is a short course but for early October it was in immaculate condition. Fun little course. At $50 with Cart on Sunday I'd go back and play there in an instant. Made a tee time on Thursday and played it last week on Sunday afternoon. Met my son there, 1/2 way for him and I, me from home and him from College. We were not paired with anyone which was good as we wanted to share our time alone. We were, however, put behind a walking threesome [Older man, wife, daughter I think] that were the slowest golfers on the planet. We endured 18 holes of torturous slow play and never once saw the Ranger mentioned in previous reviews. I would have paid a Ranger to tell those people to step aside and let us play through. We caught them at almost every tee box; they would still be teeing off and we had waited until they cleared the green before we even hit our tee shots. We could see that there were several holes wide open ahead of them. I counted the mother on one par three take 7 strokes to get on the green! They did not have enough sense to ask if we wanted to play through and I really don't think it is ever my place to ask. I'll ask a Ranger to suggest it but I don't think it is my place to put that on another group who has also paid their hard earned money. It took us 5 hours and 15 minutes to play that golf course which should be able to be played in under 3 1/2. Bottom line, get it together you guys. Have Rangers out there. I'll call again and when I do before I make a tee time I'll ask if there will be Rangers working. If not I won't go. read more

This will be my third year in the league at Chamawa. Very nice staff, well maintained, good food, affordable and enjoyable atmosphere. It is a small public course and most players are regulars and that is one of the things I like about the course; it seems like your always walking by saying hi to someone you saw last week. That's mainly because the fairways are back and forth, which may be a drawback to some. The course is narrow in some areas which is difficult for anyone with a slice; 3, 6, & 7 (I use balls I don't mind loosing on those holes). If you're a big hitter, you won't like the course because most are par 3. If you're looking to work on your game and accuracy, it's a course for you. It's not TPC caliber, but neither am I. read more
