I'm disabled and that made me a bit nervous. Upon entering, we were not greeted (we said hi and asked how he was and he complained that he was tired) then were just told (with a pointing gesture) to sit wherever there were coffee mugs. We sat and waited far too long for there only being 2 other parties of people. We received menus (not handed but sort of flopped in front of us) and coffee that was about a step and a half away from being swill (we added creamers and it never got any lighter. Very dark in color). My husband asked for sugar. The server went to get it and never came back. After about 5 minutes he showed up withOUT the sugar and started to ask about our order but we wanted the sugar first and he gave us a borderline annoyed "yup... sugar" and walked away. Again... too long of a wait for just sugar (which should have just been on the table already). After feeling ignored, we just decided to pay for the coffee and leave. Very disappointed, as so many people have praised the place and we got bad service from a server with a less than desirable attitude. We won't go back.

Here are some of the key takeaways that I've noticed in my rounds so far. * The course is in unbelievable shape, compared to a few years ago(still improving!). Expect a nice beautiful divot to fly off that fairway with your high irons & wedges. Greens are a bit fast, but roll true. Bunkers well maintained. * Lenny, the GM, is extremely professional, and also doesn't have an issue going out and helping the rangers keep up the necessary pace of play. I believe Lenny understands what needs to be done to bring this course back to championship quality, and is more than up to the task. Looking forward to the new carts. * Connor, and the rest of the staff (including cart girls- Alexa, Hannah) have been great! Extremely knowledgeable and never make you feel uncomfortable. A++ staff. * The food is as good as it gets in regards to country clubs around the area. * The range is great! They regularly change locations on the range to allow yourself the opportunity to hit off a fresh patch of grass. * Don't expect to play a round in under 4 hours if you are playing on a "weekend" past 11am. They have a courteous number of rangers out there to help out with this issue. With that said, this course is extremely difficult, and new golfers tend to come out, leaving the rangers in a tough position. All things considered, myself and my three friends are more than happy with our decision to become a member at Maplegate. Keep up the good work!

WCC is a public course offering memberships to those that live in Westborough. Memberships get you…read morepreferred access to tee times, discounted cart rentals, and access to the tournaments. WCC is an excellent 9-hole course. It is NOT an 18-hole championship course, but IT IS one of the most impeccable 9-hole courses in MA. One typically plays whites out, blues in for a total yardage of about 6200. The blues are only about 200 yards longer, but the tee box placement makes it a much tougher 9. The greens run hot when they are in full swing, think 7/8 on the stimpmeter. The fairways are gorgeous, but the fringe and green rough is sometimes imperfect. For a public course, this is top notch. It gets a lot of play. The greens make this course challenging. If you are on, you can go low easily. If you are having one of those days, prepare to be eaten alive. The course has a very reachable par 4 (in 1, hole 2) and a reachable par 5 (in 2, hole 1). The third hole is a sloping and narrowing par 5 with the toughest green on the course. You MUST be below the hole. This course will force you to hit every club in your bag at least once, you will find yourself with uneven lies, and often questioning how you could three-putt from 15 feet. Worth every penny of the $22 for 9, or $32 for 18.

At 86 years old and playing golf longer than that person was alive, this was unprecedented in my 60 years of golf.

The food is always plentiful and top notch, particularly their lobster rolls and seafood, including the raw bar and amazing clam chowder. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure you have a great day/experience. The pro shop is well stocked, and the course is always in excellent condition. It is a very challenging course, as flat lies are tough to come by, but fairways are open enough that most skill levels will find the course enjoyable.

Extremely disappointing experience. We arrived about 10 minutes before our tee time after getting…read morestuck in traffic because of an accident. Despite arriving before our scheduled time, the cashier took roughly 10 minutes to process our payment, taking her sweet time, and then another couple minutes to get our clubs and everything into the cart. By the time we actually reached the tee, we were late -- largely because of the course's own slow check-in process. The starter then told us we had to skip the first hole because the couple we were paired with was finishing up. We politely asked if we could simply play the first hole, and instead of trying to understand the situation, the starter gave us an attitude and a lecture about how strict they are about arriving on time. Apparently that rule only applies to customers and not to the staff taking 15+ minutes to get us checked in and into a cart. The whole operation feels like it's being run by incompetent people who are completely disconnected from their customers. What made it even more ridiculous was that the couple we were paired with had their BABY with them in a stroller on a links-style course. They were genuinely nice people, so this isn't directed at them, but it's hard to understand how the course can accommodate that while refusing to show any understanding toward customers who were delayed by traffic and then further delayed by the course itself. This is a 9-hole course that costs around $45 with a cart, and there were open tee times even on a weekend. On top of that, while we were playing, there was nobody on the hole behind us or even two holes behind us. So clearly there was room on the course and no legitimate reason why we couldn't have played the first hole. For $45 for nine holes, I expect at least basic customer service and common sense. Instead, we got an unnecessarily hostile experience over a situation that the course itself contributed to. Absolutely would not recommend. Would give a 0/5 if I could... The course itself was alright, modern golf carts were cool but the starter absolutely ruined our round and left a bad taste in our mouth for the whole round.
