I enjoyed golfing at kettle brook. A variety of different holes. Beautiful property. Course was fun and in good conditions.

Booked 18 holes for full price without the clubhouse letting us know the greens and tee boxes were aerated. Overall the course is in terrible shape which is disappointing! read more

Very Good Golf Course, unfortunately greens were not cut at 9:00 am and were dew covered. Cart path only for first 5 holes but I agree totally with this because course was very wet. Fairways and tees were in very good shape and New England greenskeepers have had a very tough year to maintain with HOT & HUMID conditions for 7 weeks straight. Well Done!! We played on a Friday afternoon, and the course was in good shape. Pace of play left a little to be desired. I don't know why they don't have a ranger out on the course monitoring the pace of play. We called the pro shop on the 12th tee in regard to the pace of play. They said they were aware that a group was 15 minutes behind and that they'd speak to them. The group in front of us was also waiting on the 12th tee and they said they had just called the pro shop as well! You shouldn't have to call the pro shop to complain about the pace of play. A ranger should be out on the course keeping the course moving.You don't have to be a good golfer to play in a timely manner. Love the course but will be hesitant to play it again. read more

Great track and greens were in great shape! Course always plays fair for high handicaps but is also challenging for more experienced players. My only complaint is that they do not have a range and I have come to expect having one on the better courses in the area (Blackstone, Highfields, Wachusett) but that is really my only gripe. Course is set up to play fast and can get in a round under 5 hours on a busy weekend. read more

Don't be fooled by the wide open fairways. This is a well designed course that plays long with ample risk and reward opportunities on every hole. The course is well maintained and well groomed. Pace of play is generally very good, staff is friendly and courteous and I have thoroughly enjoyed every round played there. I would like to see the greens cut a little tighter for additional speed, but that's just a personal preference. read more

Kettle Brook, for this area, is your best bet. There are some real dumps around here so anytime you find a nice course like this, you feel redeemed for all the money you have pissed away at Baypath (see review) or Hemlock Ridge (see review). It's important to note, that for this area, this course is about a 4.5. In the grand scheme of things it's a 3 or 3.5. The only course near Worcester that I have played that is nicer is Sterling Golf Club in Sterling, MA. That place is a gem. Kettle Brook is a good challenge, the greens roll nice, and the landscape is beautiful. The pace of play was a bit of an issue and there was some pretty bad flooding on the last half of the back nine. Since Sterling is private, Hemlock Ridge is a waste of time, and Baypath is a disaster, you will be pleased with a nice round at Kettlebrook. read more

This course is in the middle of no where outside of Worcester. Overall it is a nice course, well taken care of and a decent price. There are 5 sets of tees which I like. The front tees are at times at a disadvantage on some of the holes due to their placement, but nothing horrible. The fairways are wide open and in good shape. They have some nice water hazards, a barn on one hole for some character and a few forced carries. You get to play all the clubs in your bag, including on a crazy uphill par 3 (#17) which is 161 from the forward tees and 223 from the tips. It plays at least 2 club lengths longer from most of the tees because of the elevated green. The wind can easily add on at least a club length on some of the carry holes (#12) as well, so keep that in mind. The prices aren't bad. Anytime before noon on the weekends you have to take a cart at $60 for 18. In the afternoon it is $49 including a cart or $40 to walk. The clubhouse/pro shop: not much to speak of here. The women's section was literally nonexistent except for a few gloves. (surprise) The men have a few options for shirts, hats etc. 19th hole: They have a small grill area next to the clubhouse. Not bad for a burger, sandwich or beer after a round. Nothing special though. read more

Played there yesterday and the course was in great shape. Everyone was friendly. My three-some were playing ready golf and were moving along. A few times single players came up behind us but were great and didn't hit into us or pressure us. Etiquette : We let them go through and it ended up being a great day of golf. Bar staff and food was good. A competitive course and we will be back. read more

I have played here for years and years this is a beautiful golf course challenging and fair and forgiving for everyone if you play from the back tees you better be a single digit handicap or if you're in the high teens to 20s you play from the green teas you'd be fine beautiful vistas and overall beautiful golf course. The only complaint holes two through five generally are kind of wet if you had rain the day before overall great experience well worth the drive in a very friendly staff. They are owned by the same family who owns Watchusett country club that's a great Donnell Ross design except not the easiest course to get on Kettlebrook much easier overall and just as nice. read more

As a member of this terrific course I get the opportunity to talk with many other golfers regarding Kettlebrook and never has anyone given anything but high marks for a course that is immaculately kept. I have played this track for over 10 years. It has always been in great shape and a pleasure to play. Something has definitely went wrong. I played on Thursday may 24th. The fairways and greens are horrendous. The fairways have little grass on them and are severely beat up. All discolored and bare. Greens are also beat up. They did spend extra money this year on a new karts I believe. Also some new technology for the tavern. But unfortunately, when I spend $60 for greens fees I want to play a course that is in halfway decent shape. This was the first time I've ever seen this course so terrible. It looks like the extra money for the technology has stopped them from putting any money or water or any type of Maintenance into the actual course. Which is a shame. Because it's a great venue that I will not be attending again. The girls in the tavern were terrific as usual. The turkey club was amazing. But unfortunately the course was very subpar. read more

This is a VERY good course always in good condition. It was cart path only on a few holes 2-5 but understandable after the rains. The greens were rolling at a 10 or so and very smooth. If I had to pick out one issue I would comment on the extremely large amount of divots just lying on the otherwise fantastic fairways. It appeared that there had been a large amount of play the day before and every divot on the course was not replaced. I consider this a reflection on the inconsiderate people who played the day before, but the course should try to keep up with replacing them for the price. read more

This golf course is a hidden jewel in Central MA. We play there at least 3-5 times a season. The track is challenging but fun to play. We played this week and per usual, the course was in great shape. The only drawback and the only reason for the 4 star vs 5 were the greens. They had some kind of distress and were rolling a little slow, but no gouges or bald spots To boot, the fee is very fair at $50 for 18 holes with a cart. Highly recommend for golfers of all levels. read more

I have played this course several times over the years. Typically it is always in very good shape. It is definitely a challenging course, with a very fair layout. I just played there yesterday and although the greens had been punched two weeks ago, they were still uncharacteristically bumpy. Overall, I would still recommend this course to anyone. I live all the way in Revere, and would make the drive anytime. One other con is that they don't have a driving range. They do have a decent putting green and a warm up net. Also just down the street there is a rinky dink driving range literally 5 minutes away if you are a golfer that requires actual swings before playing. read more

Have played this course many times. Recent visit was outstanding. The course was in great shape, staff as always was friendly. The carts seemed new and were kept very clean. Many courses in the area charging twice the amount as Kettlebrook for same quality. Highly recommend giving it a shot if you haven't played it. read more

I have only played Kettle Brook twice, and both times I have really enjoyed it. The second time being this past weekend. As a previous reviewer stated, be prepared to use all of the clubs in your bag. This is a good thing as no two holes are the same. There are a few forced carries, and some dog legs as well. For me, the course is challenging but not too difficult. the greens and fairways are both in great shape. I felt like the greens roll very true. Number 18 is a bit of a letdown for a finishing hole. The fairway is wide open and it is not very dramatic. For $60 on a weekend to play 18 and a cart is a good value for this course and I will definitely return. read more

Most of the reviews here are old, but Kettlebrook lives up to its a reputation as a higher end public course. The layout is unique with each hole having a different look. All is fair except for the ridiculous 17th an uphill 200 yard par 3 that played into a howling 20 mile an hour wind. It seemed like most holes play in a northerly direction, so it's best to play on a warm Summer day with gentle winds. Conditions were good, but it seems too many hackers are unwilling to replace big divots in the fairway. The greens and tees were both in excellent condition. Many holes allow you to play a bump and run. We played in 4:15 minutes on a weekend. read more

If you are looking for a round of golf on decent course with little or no professional golf etiquette from the staff, then this is the place for you. Have played here for years travelling an hour to play, but the last three outings have been less then enjoyable. Today will be my last. The grounds crew mowing lawns, driving tractors through your play and the 10 minute delay due to sprinklers going off on the back nine. A call made to the clubhouse and basically blown off, told the sprinklers are on a timer. No starter, no ranger and groups jumping holes and causing additional delays. Definitely not worth the $52.00 they are charging. read more

Hi, I played Kettlebrook yesterday, July 30, 2019. The course is in excellent condition, tees, fairways, greens and bunkers. There weren't many players on the course, maybe it was too hot for some people, so the pace of play was great, no one in front or behind us all day. Paxton is a little out of the way, (I live in the Natick area) but definitely worth the drive. Senior weekday rate $50 with a cart. If they had a range, it would be a 5 star course. They have a small warm-up cage to hit into, but it is only for one person at a time, and the mat is old and in very poor condition. The mat is not even on level ground. It seems it would be relatively inexpensive to get a bigger cage, a few more NEW mats and level out the area. read more

I would not recommend this course to anyone. The clubhouse manager was the most disrespectful person I have ever meet in my life. The clubhouse staff were rude, arrogant, and all had attitudes. Zero customer service skills. And the craziest part... it is the most overpriced course in the area. If you want to be treated as a second-class citizen by Kettle Brook's staff this is the golf course for you. read more

Almost wow. Sister course of Wachusett. These folks know how to run amazing courses at very fair prices. Everything was great . The Tee Boxes looked like greens. The fairways mostly perfect. The greens, although aerated in the past few weeks, were challenging and fast. The staff really knowledgeable and helpful. OK, why not 5 stars? We went out at 7:40AM. None of the tee boxes were marked. We chose to go from the embedded distance marker in the tee box. The whole round we were one hole behind the groundskeeper applying this white foam from a tractor. It did not dissipate quickly. Made it a little exciting determining ball from foam at a distance. I want to play it again to get that star number up and my scores down :) read more

The fairways need divot repair. Couple holes are in terrible condition. Provide filled tubes on carts and have greenskeeper fix. It's a shame for nice course. Also lots of ball marks on greens that players should repair. read more

Thru the persistence of one of my fellow golfers, we are told rain checks are in the mail. I will edit this review once I see it! Maybe management realized it is good for business, repeat business! I'll get back to you all! This course is pretty nice but the management is terrible. We had a 4 some play last weekend and it started to rain cats and dogs. We just barely got 9 holes in when at the turn, we asked for a rain check for 9 holes. We were told unless there's lightning NO! The guys in the pro shop were Ok but the person making the decison is an idiot. A rain check does not reduce the course's revenue but it would have allowed them to make additional revenue when we returned to play 18 holes. I play golf with a group of 12 and I was going to talk to them about an end of season tournament there. Forget it! I'll never play there again because of the money hungry attitude of the course management. read more

Without a doubt the only course close in central Mass Is Wachusett. The fairways are gorgeous, soft and plush. The greens are large, fast and true. The dog legs keep it challenging. The tee boxes were also prefect and I love the ability to challenge yourself by playing from the tips - 6,900 yards. You cannot beat it, quite the bang for the buck$! read more

Horrible service at this golf course. We were stuck behind a three groups of drunk players, pissing in the middle of the fairways, throwing beer cans etc. Three people in the golf pro shop and not a single ranger came out. They closed snack shop early, locked bathrooms and left the course early as soon as all players paid green fees and then it was a slow painful 18 holes. The pro shop staff should be all fired. read more
