My mom contacted Mendes plumbing to fix a water pipe in her front yard. The roots from a tree had…read moregrown through and blocked the pipe which was causing all of her drains to back up. Mendes plumbing had to dig into the the front yard near and under the cement walkway to remove the root and repair the pipe. That part was expected. What was not expected was that they would not properly refill the holes they dug in her yard and she was left with a gaping hole under the cement walkway to her front door. This is a a huge hazard, as the cement could easily break and cave in while someone is walking or standing on it. When she called the company to ask them to refill it, the person on the phone was very rude to her and she was told that filling the hole was her job and they would not be back because it was her problem. They also told her to get a shovel and fill it up. My mom is 81 years old. She lives alone and obviously is not physically able to shovel dirt. If she would've known in the beginning that they had not intended to complete the job, replace the dirt and fill the holes, she would have hired someone else to do it all. Also, beware that they will do work on a verbal agreement. Be sure to ask for a written quote and receipt for payment. My mom just trusted that they would do a good job. Instead they took advantage of her and left her with a mess. Very dissatisfied with their incomplete work and poor customer service.
