Cloud Nine Construction company installed a shower in my guest bath that we have had nothing but problems. The shower backs to my hall wood floor....within a short time I noticed bumbles appearing in my wood floor and I contacted the floor person.....bumbles in the wood is water damage!! By means of attempting several solutions to no avail, we have to totally tear down and redo after only 3 1/2 yrs. We realized the leaking has to be an issue under the floor......The pan was put in wrong, so it drained out around it in one of the corners! The Cloud Nine owner, Gilbert, refused to assist when I wanted to find out who installed the glass doors as we were trying to attempt to have more reap holes drilled thinking that might help drainage! His response, was, it's no longer under warranty! You don't care about warranty when your trying to fix a leaking problem damaging your floor. The attitude of the owner was uncooperative. We had bids for my daughters home And because of the high cost of remodeling a kitchen and moving a bathroom $150k they decided to build new here in Madera. I just cannot believe the cost of remodeling now, we have had our home Completely remodeled twice and the total Cost because we had multiple bids came in at less than a third of that and that included all new Anilin Catalina windows and two sliders, paid for solar and a new AC split system including new gas fireplace insert and one French door of three sliders. Long story short, Gilbert lied to me. Job was in August 2020. At first he seemed really nice and easy to communicate with. Replied timely. But don't fall for it. He helped me select "quartzite" countertops for my kitchen. We walked up and down the showroom looking at slabs. He told me it was quartzite over and over. We went together but Gilbert did the paperwork in office while we waited on the show floor so he could get a better "Contractor price." 1) He cheated me, he charged so much more extra. The warehouse listed it around $650-$700 and he told me each slab was around $1200! He also charged me extra since quartzite was so "difficult" and even "harder" to cut. Halfway done with my kitchen, I told him how much I appreciated his service ( his guys came and did everything, he had never been on site as of) and I thanked him. It was right after this time only that found out it was not quartzite, it was granite. We wanted a slab for the stove "wall" area and checked the warehouse ourselves for inventory since last time we had to wait a week or two for ordering. That's when we knew he was full of lies! I confronted him about it and at first he tried to convince me that it was quartzite still!! I had to show him the damn printout from the warehouse. 2) Then he gave me some BS about he didn't know and that the office must have lied to him. 3) I didn't know about quality, so I trusted him to help me select a good quartz slab (as that was what we wanted) he let us chose "granite" while lying to us that it was quartzite, he also did not tell me that this slab had "fissures" its pretty much a broken slab, imperfect whatever it is) basically not the best. 4) he tried to make himself look good by saying he would give me a good price on that oven wall slab (I also pairs for) since he had an extra price from previous work, this was a lie, as the piece was not even the same. I was nice enough to only demand fair costs. I ended up only paying him what I felt was worth but how dare he over charge me and lie- I didn't need to pay him since he led me to believe I was getting quartzite and I was NOT! If you want someone honest to work with, whom you could rely on and trust - don't go to him. I felt like I could have found someone more honest and I could have even gotten a better kitchen with what I paid. read more

UPDATE... Left a negative review previously. But, Gilbert, wonderful Gilbert- had contacted me a couple weeks after he seen my negative review and apologized for the bad communication. We spoke for a bit and worked something out. He offered to do whatever work I needed at home. I can say that I am absolutely happy with the work and time he put in to do a couple projects for my family and I. Cloud Nine was actually booked for months but Gilbert bit the bullet and got his team to handle the projects that I needed to get done. They did work in between their already booked, original schedules which I completely appreciate. He definitely made us feel like important customers. Our home is now complete thanks to this man. My brother in law thought he could fix a hole in the roof by himself and the next thing we know is we see his foot go through the ceiling..... Sooo my husband looked on.... you guessed it, Yelp and we found this wonderful place! He called us back the same day, went to look at our house, gave us and estimate, we agreed it was reasonable and he came out within a day or 2 and did it! Unbelievable!!! Some specialty vendors are such a hit or miss, if they answer their phone, if they want re reasonable, of they come out when they say they are. For an honest, knowledgeable, hard-working and kind, customer-centered contractor, call Gilbert at Cloud 9.  I'm so grateful that I did. My house had an open wound, and Gilbert and his crew were the perfect surgeons to help nurse her back to health.   Hi reader, you don't know me, but I'm the girl that is a magnet for strange and weird situations. I'm grateful not a single person was seriously injured, but a car crashed into my house back in February.  People are irreplaceable, but things can be rebuilt. When you need rebuilding, call Gilbert at Cloud 9. Me and my sad little tools which really only include crazy glue, a hammer, and a stapler, were grossly inexperienced to fix this problem. I found Cloud 9 on Yelp.  By the time I got out of work during the week, most contractors were already gone for the day.  I was usually left to talk to an answering machine, and I'd leave messages but rarely got a call back.    Gilbert answered on a Sunday.  I decided I needed to at least leave messages so that I could get someone to call me back and help me with my weird situation.  I was shocked I wasn't talking to a machine; I was talking to a live person. I was shocked he answered my call, some unknown number, on a Sunday evening. "Geez, that's horrible!  I'm sorry you're going through this," was his empathetic answer to the brief rundown of my situation.  "Yes, we can come out there and take a look. We can help." I'm a creature of instinct and I immediately got that gut feeling that told me I was talking to someone that was a people person and sympathetic.  You know, when you pick up on someone's good vibe your gut just kicks you? Working with Cloud 9 did not disappoint. Gilbert and his crew went above and beyond the call of duty.  He helped me negotiate with the insurance company when he surveyed the damage and drew up the estimate. He took the lead. His crew came in like ninjas and completed the job in about a week and a half, 2 weeks tops, which was a lot faster than I had imagined.  The crew was all very personable and friendly and I was comforted by their expertise and experience. Gilbert could've just patched up the interior paint of the room that was hit, but he told me that he wanted to repaint the entire room so that the paint all matched and looked fresh.   He advised me that if I wanted to change the color of the room, now would be the time to do it. It was obvious that he takes pride in his work. I had a picture in my mind, but not a single swatch I found matched that mental picture.  I showed him a photo from Pinterest, knowing I might drive him a little crazy, but I trusted he could match it somehow.  To the letter! The room went from a forest green to the exact cobalt blue I had envisioned. My eyes were beyond happy! I'm not going to lie, I squealed when I saw his finished work.       Once the job was done, as you can see by the pictures above, the house was restored to its original state.  The word seamless was the best way I could describe it. My dad, when he came to see the finished room said that it was as if nothing had ever happened.  He wowed. I contacted Gilbert for several jobs I needed done in my home. He was very quick to respond and provide me a complete quote with an amazing price. His team installed 3 brand new fans, pendent lighting, a chandelier, completely rewired and mounted 2 65" TVs in my living and den with no wiring showing. On top of all that I requested a special project of having a accent ship lap wall done and his team out did themselves with this custom project in my den. Lastly his team installed a doggy door for my huskies in their room. The doggy door is in the wall of the house completely flush and looks great. Gilbert helped also recommend a great doggy door. These guys are the only way to go! We've hired them twice and have plans to use them for several upcoming home improvement projects. Most recently they fixed a major electrical issue. After last week's storm the fridge in our garage and our Christmas lights went out. As it turned out, when our house was built, the garage, external outlets, and family room were all put on the same circuit, which they shouldn't be. We called on Thursday. On Monday, Gilbert sent Max out and within 4 1/2 hours he had figured out the issue, run two new circuits from our fuse box, fixed the two outlets that failed, and installed 2 additional outlets in our garage. Oh my, where to begin. . . It all started when I needed some exterior work done on my home. I needed a new roof, as well as exterior painting. I also knew I wanted stacked stone added to the front of my home. For some dumb reason, I thought that was something a painter could do. Boy was I wrong. However I did have one painter tell me, "I THINK I can do that stacked stone THING. He asked me to get him a sample, so he could see what it was, and some instructions on installation." OMG, I know everyone needs a chance, but you're not going to use my house & money to learn a new trade. I was so impressed by the glowing reviews and all the photos of their work, I had to give them a call. Much to my surprise, someone actually answered the phone, and as it turns out, I was speaking to Gilbert Trejo, the owner. I explain to Gilbert what I wanted/needed to have done. He asked for my address, and while we were speaking, he pulled up my home on Google Earth, as well as another app he uses. He immediately knew where my home was, as well as the sq. feet. He asked if I could send him pictures from various sides, so he could better see the condition, etc., etc. As promised, I received a call back from Gilbert that same afternoon. He gave me a rough estimate on the cost of painting, and the materials he'd be using. We scheduled an appt to meet later that week. He showed up right on time. After discussing and kicking around different ideas that kept popping around in my head, I'm sure Gilbert thought, oh my gosh, what have I gotten myself into! Well that was never the case. At least he didn't show it! LOL It was such a great experience working with Gilbert and his awesome crew. Everyone was so professional, and I had a lot of fun working with them. We needed two door frames repaired after we removed the pocket doors and we wanted to remodel our spare bath shower. Within the week, Gilbert came to our home to look at the work. This review is long overdue. I decided to live with my recently renovated master bath to make sure it was truly done and done correctly. This is not the first time I have renovated this master bathroom. I did it several years ago and the recommended "contractor" I hired, did such a bad job, I have been unable to use the master shower for the past six years. My bathroom is gorgeous!!! The quality of the work has been second to none. The work ethic of the staff of Cloud Nine is amazing. Gilbert and his crew have been incredible. The bathroom functions beautifully. Gilbert is able to visualize (very rare for a contractor) and was extremely helpful in suggesting materials, etc. His pricing is fair and reasonable. He wants to do a great job which is also unusual in a contractor! The workplace was left clean and neat every day. Unbelievable! Attention to detail was amazing. UPDATE REVIEW 8/23/2018 I reacted hastily with Cloud Nine Construction. I had contacted 3 other contractors from Fresno, prior to calling Cloud Nine Construction and no one ever showed up for an appointment or called to cancel. Cloud Nine missed an appointment, however Gilbert DID contact me and apologized for not contacting me the day of our scheduled appointment. I want to say thank you to Gilbert for reaching out to my husband and I and making things right! Gilbert came out to our home and gave us an estimate on the floor damage that was done by the AC unit and explained everything throughly to my husband and followed up with a phone call to me after I got off work.
