I have the best patio cover in town! - build by RFMC Construction/Patio King. From start to finish, Joe and his team did a fantastic job, and I am SO HAPPY that I chose RFMC/Patio King to do the job. 5 stars!!!

Over the weekend my Son in Law commented that he smelled natural gas outside. We were able to determine that the source was the riser installed by RFMC. I called first thing Monday and was told I would be called no later than afternoon. Called them late afternoon and left a message. Called them again on Tuesday and was told per the owner that since the install is only warranted for one year, to call a plumber. I explained that I believed it to be at a joint. Was told to let them know what the plumber finds. Called a plumber who diagnosed the issue in just a few minutes, took a wrench to the pipe and was told it was only hand tightened!!! Had RFMC came out to look at the issue, it would have saved me the frustration and costs for something they should have caught. Called RFMC and told them the findings with a promise that a contractor would call back. I'm not holding my breath...

Had a patio cover installed in March of 2018. Started off a little shaky at first though. Our original appointment for our estimate was supposed to be in the afternoon. I waited around for about two hours before the estimator called and said he got cought up with a client and wouldn't ba able to make it and he would call tomorrow to reschedule. I waited about a week before I called back to schedule another appointment and figured the guy was just busy and forgot. No big deal. We decided to go with this company and set up a install date. Had some problems with the city I guess and it was about 4 months before they actually started install, but stuff happens and I understand that. Finally got the cover installed and were were happy with it. Finishing work wasn't the greatest. They didn't smooth out the concrete for the posts, missed some studs with lag bolts, and some of the pay covers weren't level. Called and they came out and fixed almost everything. Overall happy with the cover though. The real problem came when the covert started to leak though. I called and they emailed me saying they couldn't come out til March or April of 2019 to fix because of the rain. Figured ok I understand. Called in March and they emailed me saying it would be April. Finally recieved an email in May with a set date but it was short notice and neither my wife nor I could be home to take care of or large dogs so we had to reschedule again. Finally got it resealed first week of June. Waited a week and spayed water on in and it leaks still. The operation manager is so difficult to deal with and will never return any of your phone calls that I want nothing to do with this company anymore. I will just reseal the cover myself. It's a shame because my wife and I like the cover and some of the people were really nice. The problem lies mainly with their operation manager and the fact they can't get the cover to stop leaking. I tell all of my friends and family that ask about our cover to stay away from RFMC construction and go with somebody else. They don't seem concerned about customer service or return customers.

Rusting, eroding material, not weatherproof. Bad constructing

If you want quality materials and a product that will withstand go with someone else. The patio was very expensive and I paid cash. The patio is rusting, falling apart and RGMC could care less. A rep reached out to us and promised to look into the several issues we experienced its been about 3 months still no callback. The company will not stand by their work and the material/finished product will not last!!!! I wish I had the option to select no stars.

The whole process from the initial planning meeting to the last day of the build went really smooth. Josh and Reggie did a great job with our patio covering. The company is local and their product comes with a great warranty that they will honor themselves. We are super happy with our new patio.

Just after the build. We have since put a rug down, lights inside the perimeter, cat condo, small settee, a few garden tables. Love it.

We are so happy with our patio enclosure. We signed on not even knowing what it would look like when done. They did not let me down. So, there are 3 sides, 6 large windows (2 on each wall) that slide open on both sides w/screens. The door to the outside is more glass than wood. Much light comes in, making it what we wanted, outside brought in, but comfortable. So, I think we should have had it with HVAC hooked up, this 'winter' so far has been too tame & the room heater I purchased is not needed, but I know the summer is going to be horrid. This I would suggest to potential customers. The company was inundated with customers, so there was a few months delay. I was called each week letting me know situations and status. The biggest thing for me, everyone was very professional. I gave 4 stars because of the length of wait, and some paperwork had not been submitted in a timely manner. I wholly give this company two thumbs up, and my recommendation.

Scratches eventually fixed 2 months later

Not a great experience with Patio Kings. Caleb with Patio Kings marked the wrong spot for the drainage. We even had him come out more than once and verify it was in the correct location before concrete pour. Then to make it worse Caleb tried to lie about it and blame other people. Patio Kings eventually fixed the problems. (See photos) However, I would not hire this company again.

So this is their idea of a mid-century modern inverted vee. Blamed me. Because I signed off on their drawing. Which shows an actual vee.

First I must say I have been a long-time customer and used them for several projects over the past 20 years and was always more than satisfied. This time not so much. I hired them for a pergola. Caleb showed up and helped with the design we wanted. He had to be convinced that we did not like his ideas; that we had our own idea. He measured and made a drawing that looked good. But when the project was finished, it looked nothing like what we wanted. Indeed, it did not even look like Caleb's drawing. To add insult to injury, they broke the low-voltage sprinkler wire even after being warned as to its location. When I confronted Caleb with the problems he insisted it was my fault. I contacted Rick who was gracious and agreed it did not turn out right. A crew was scheduled to make adjustments (which included, among other things, moving two cemented posts) and I took the day off work. The crew did not show up. An hour after the scheduled time I called the office only to be told they were running late because they had been a day behind all week. It would have been nice to have been advised of that the previous day--missing work costs me money. They finally arrived 5 hours after the scheduled time. They had the wrong address! They "fixed" the broken sprinkler wire but not well enough for the sprinklers to actually work. They did not finish as promised. They did not have the proper parts (touch-up paint) and left a huge mess. There were sheet metal screws in my driveway and piles of cement dust all over my patio and driveway along with bits of trash. Several of the build crew (initial crew and the recent crew) observed that the design was idiotic. To get the look we wanted the rafters should have been running the other direction. It would have been easier to get the look we wanted and it would have saved them many hours of labor -- not to mention having to redo the job which, as I write, is still unfinished. This long-time customer will not be returning.

At this point the posts can be put anywhere just snap a straight line and set them they didn't do that.

The project lasted about five months, and since we were living in the home the whole time, we were a little nervous about how disruptive it might be. J & J went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Every single day, construction debris was picked up, and the crew was extremely conscientious about keeping the space as livable as possible. Communication was outstanding from start to finish. Our contract and timeline were clear, and we received daily or weekly text updates letting us know exactly what was planned for the days ahead. Any question or concern we had--no matter how small--was met with a quick and thoughtful response. It was also obvious that J & J holds their subcontractors to very high standards. Every trade that came through delivered work that met J & J's quality expectations. Before choosing J & J, we met with several other well‑known residential construction companies in the area. Looking back, choosing J & J was absolutely the right decision. They earned our respect and admiration through their professionalism, craftsmanship, and genuine care for both the project and our family's comfort. We highly recommend J & J Quality Construction for any project--from a remodel to a home expansion. You will not be disappointed.

5/5 -- Incredible Experience with Bill at BLC Homes…read more We recently completed a home remodel with Bill at BLC Homes, and I honestly couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Bill is one of those rare contractors who combines top-tier craftsmanship with clear communication, professionalism, and genuine care for the final product. From our very first meeting, Bill took the time to understand our vision and offered thoughtful recommendations that made the project even better than we originally planned. He provided a detailed timeline and budget, and he stuck to both--no surprises, no headaches. Throughout the remodel, Bill and his team showed up on time, kept the space tidy, and worked with incredible attention to detail. Every finish, every line, every piece of the project reflects true quality. He handled a full kitchen gut, raised ceilings, new concrete, a complete electrical overhaul, bathrooms, flooring, structural changes, and the transformation is stunning. Our home has never looked better, and we've received so many compliments already. What impressed me most was Bill's communication. He kept us updated at every stage, checked in frequently, and made sure we were completely comfortable with each decision. Working with him was stress-free, smooth, and honestly enjoyable. If you're looking for a trustworthy contractor who delivers exceptional work and stands behind everything he does, Bill at BLC Homes is the one you want. We will absolutely be calling him for any future projects.

It wasn't easy with major rock outcroppings, a steep hill and limited access for equipment. We were adding about 500 square feet of new living space, a large waterproof deck above the living space and two additional lower decks. We needed a contractor who was confident and competent in tackling such a challenge. From the moment we met Bill, we had a great feeling that he and his crew were the ones we would be able to trust to get this done with the quality we expected. They did not disappoint at all. We had a tight schedule to fit this in between busy summer rental seasons and he and his crew worked around harsh winter weather conditions, the remote location and the challenging build site to pull it off. He even helped us navigate working with the architect and pushing the permits over the line. Not only that, we had a number of construction modifications once we got into the project and he was a great collaborator in talking through the options, being flexible and coming up with solutions that took what was in our heads and making them come to life. He was easy to reach, his crew was always prompt and he was quick to let me know if there were issues we had to work through. My father and I built custom homes together for 11 years and so I'm quite familiar with the build process and what quality construction looks like. But even more, I know how many contractors that are out there that fall short of earning your trust, cut corners, don't show up, don't meet critical timelines, or change order you into extinction. Bill was excellent on all fronts and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone. A huge THANK YOU to BLC Custom Homes for turning our dream into reality...and a lakefront home we and our family will enjoy for many years to come!
