The lodge has an older, rustic feel to it. Location is nice as it kinda sit right on the lake; literally 10 steps and your feet are rubbing against the sharp, jagged, not so soft sand. However, the warmth and clearness of the water does make up for it. Upon arrival, check-in was a breeze. They do require you to mask up before entering the office. Our room was clean, no complaints. The view of the lake and the pool was spectacular, I'm sure my husband did not mind the pool view lol. Breakfast was grab-n-go as we are living in the pandemic. Check-out was also a breeze. During our stay here, we got Mexican foods like fifteen times!! From the taco truck to a sit down Mexican joint, all was finger licking good! Felt as if I was in Mexico for a sec. We were in the river view room and it was cozy with a great deck view of the river. We were able to get settled in pretty quickly and wander by the water; sit and enjoy the scenery, and last but not least see their little rabbits, chickens, and prince the peacock! Ludger was an amazing host and really made us feel welcome -- can I also say he puts some restaurant chefs to shame with his breakfast creations? I found it super thoughtful that they had a check in sheet asking about allergies, dietary restrictions, and even taste preferences. He definitely accommodated to my vegetarian palate while still cooking up some of the best meals I have ever had at an inn, hotel, and possibly even restaurants. Kudos to him. It was super nice to have fresh fruit from the orchard be included the meals and it really added such a great touch to them. Price wise, I would say it is very reasonable for the delightful experience, calm and quiet surroundings, and comfortable stay. I have recommended this spot to every friend I have seen this week and will continue to rave to everyone about how amazing this spot is. I read on…read moretheir site that they "allow pets upon request" and was thrilled since not a lot of places do. So I went ahead and filled out the reservation since it was the last one left! In the description box I wrote them saying I would be bringing 2 small dogs with me and even though I grabbed the last room with only a queen bed I mentioned my dad would be staying with us on an air mattress and I didn't need them to provide any extra accommodations for us. Well about an hour later I get an email that says this: "A couple of things. The room only accomodates 2 people not 3 We do allow dogs but I'm not sure about 2 dogs. Usually people call when they have pets" To which I replied, "I'm sorry so what are you saying? Is it not alright if we have 3 people, 1 person sleeping on an air mattress? And also 2 dogs? I'm a little confused by your message." They replied telling me no I'm not allowed to have my dad stay with us and that 2 dogs is too much. So thank you well made bed and breakfast for your terrible customer service and I'm glad I won't be staying with you. I wouldn't recommend you to anyone. You should change what your website says and never tell anyone "usually people call when they have pets".
