Unfortunately, this was a poor experience that can be divided into two categories: 1. Product: We rented one of their oldest trailers, so I fully expected that it would be well used (although I wasn't expecting to see that one of the outlets had been completely fried. Yikes!). However, it was not clean. Turns out that we had a different standard of clean than the owners of this company. When a $75 cleaning fee is included in the rental agreement, I expect something to actually be in liveable condition. Bare feet turned black from the carpets, a fridge that smelled rotten upon arrival (we cleaned it out ourselves), dirty dishes and all counter tops had a residue, to name a few issues. The owner did tell us that it was deep cleaned annually. But, since we rented in August nearing the end of camping season, we got the short end of that stick. Also noted upon arrival was a horrible smell throughout the entire trailer. We immediately called the owners who stated it should dissipate within the day. It didn't and never did. Anyone who walked into our trailer mentioned it, including my 5 year old nephew, who doesn't currently possess a very picky sense of smell. Our main concern was the safety of my 4 month old niece who was also staying in this trailer. 2 days later she ended up being hospitalized at the local hospital, unable to keep anything down. The rest of us (3 adults) fell very ill, as well. We were at the campground with 12 other family members and no one else got sick, even though we hung out together all day long and shared meals. While we can't prove it was the trailer, it's awfully coincidental. We continued to stick it out, as this was our summer vacation and there were no refunds for either the campground or the RV. However, very late on the 4th night of our 7 day rental, I moved the garbage can to retrieve something and saw black mold on the wall. This was the last straw and we packed up and left the following day. The owner told me later that it was a residual stain from black mold a few years prior. However, it looked to have live spores and certainly did not appear to be treated. I was irritated that we found this out after the fact. 2. Customer Service: We ended up departing two days earlier than planned due to the discovery of the black mold patch and the fact the none of us felt well. The owners response to my email implied that I was a bit picky about the cleanliness of the trailer, and acted personally insulted that I would offer up a complaint. In my attempts to redeem a partial refund due to the aforementioned issues, I was shut down and told that they considered the case closed. Would not recommend. We were told by several other people at the campground to go with Freedom RV Rentals in Wenatchee instead. read more

I wish it was possible to give this company zero stars. It was by far the worst experience. We flew in from Los Angeles and had Chelan rentals drop off an Trailer for us at the Gorge. The generator wasn't powering the trailer so we had no lights, no AC, or refrigerator and no running water. So basically we rented a hot box for the weekend and still had to use the porta potty. All of our food that we brought for the weekend (that we intended on putting in the refrigerator) was completely ruined. Luckily we had friends that had extra food so that we didn't starve. We ended up sleeping in our rental car because the trailer was too hot to sleep in. The owner, Shari was very unprofessional and responded to us when we complained that nothing was working at one point with "whatever." I asked her for a refund and she came up with excuses as to why we wouldn't be getting a refund. I feel like this is totally unfair because it basically ruined our whole weekend, that we spent A LOT of money on. This is a warning, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

We have rented two units for the last three consecutive years and are about to rent again for the fourth year. It has always been the best experience. They are timely, know the park and sites and it's always very clean and well stocked. The owners are very friendly and after four years of doing business with them I almost feel like we are actual friends due to their hospitality and friendly ways. I highly recommend this business. Horrible, awful experience with this company. We were due to travel to Lake Chelan last weekend, and had fully paid the $600 + cost of a trailer rental for 5 days' stay. Two days before we were due to depart for our trip, massive wildfires broke out in the area, leading to Level 3 evacuations for most of neighborhoods around the downtown area (where we were going to stay). We stayed glued to the news, Facebook pages of local businesses, Twitter, etc to find out the status of the evacuations. News sources stated that a portion of the road leading into Lake Chelan was closed, and entrance to town was being denied unless you could prove you owned a residence in the area. I emailed and called the owner of the company, Shari, several times with no response. Because they live near town themselves, I assumed they were also affected by the wildfires. Still, we had to try to make arrangements for our vacation. Shari called the morning of the day we were supposed to leave, and I informed her that we had to make alternate arrangements due to the evacuations. When I requested a refund (days later), I was told that they would not be issuing any refunds, but would split the amount in half and apply to two future reservations. So, not only would we not get our money back, but would in essence have to pay even MORE for future stays with them. I'm appalled that a small business would treat their customers this way. Many other businesses in the area were (publicly) offering full refunds to their customers due to the situation. The RV park we were due to stay in offered a refund, no questions asked. I will not do business with Chelan RV rentals again, and will be offering my review far and wide. read more

I rented an RV from Chelan RV Rentals over the fourth of July for one week. The RV was delivered and set up prior to my arrival at my campsite. The unit was clean, comfortable, and stocked with towels, paper products, and sheets/pillowcases. When I arrived, I needed a few items that I didn't bring from home. Shari immediately drove over and supplied what I needed, no questions asked. Later, I had some questions on how to operate the awning. Shari and her husband arrived promptly to explain how the unit worked, and even came back afterwards to install a rope to make it easier for me to reach/operate the awning during my stay. The RV was just as expected, very cool and comfortable in the Chelan heat, and was plenty roomy for myself, my family, and my children's friends. What was exceptional, however, was the friendliness and service that I received from Darrin and Shari. They were both friendly, super helpful, and fantastic hosts. I would not hesitate to rent from Chelan RV Rentals in the future! read more
