I am Not sure what park Brenda K went to but I went to Lightning Pine RV park it was a bad experience from the start. First off you must email the owner and wait for him to call you back about a reservation. several days later he will call you. I made my request for dates and was told all 6 of his full hookups were most likely not available. I asked what that meant, he said that a group was coming in but they were not sure if they needed all 6. He then told me that since they were not sure if they need them all he would call me after she was informed of the status. He called me a few days later and said that they did not need all six and I would have my 2 full hookup sites. yay! 10 days before our trip he called me again and said that the group have decided that they wanted all six sites and that I could now not have them. I told him that was not acceptable and they had turned them down and he had already promised them to me. He then told me that he was giving the sites to the other group and I could have two non full hookup sites. When I told him this was not acceptable he basically said too bad. What do you want me to do? I told him to tell the group they could not have the sites and he said no he would not do that. That was the first problem. You may ask why not go somewhere else? because we were taking a river rafting trip that was departing from that location so we were stuck. Moving on when we get there he asks us for payment. Now this normally would not be a problem however he will only accept a check or cash. none of which we had with us. I read the policies on the website and there is no place that says he does not accept credit cards. If you are not going to accept credit cards and only accept cash or checks the website should say that otr he should tell you on the phone. We had to make a trip to the town to get cash. A headache in itself. The website also does not tell you that if your children are going to use a tent that is a separate fee of $8 per person per night! I am already paying for my RV site and now because my kids are using a tent we have to pay additional fees along with it. This does not make sense to me . Now the Resort and I use the term loosely, is on a nice raging river great for rafting. That is the only good thing. The owner, Randy, will come to your site with a chair and sit with you without being invited, very strange . On Sunday morning at 740 they bring in the tractors to remove the garbage! Do I really want to hear a tractor after being up late on Saturday night at that hour? Now for the bathrooms. The website indicates that there is a clean indoor bathroom with shower and laundry. I am posting the pictures I took for you to see what they look like. really disgusting. Lastly, there are no check in or check out time on the website and we were not verbally given any information about those times. On Sunday morning, our check out day we were informed by Randy the owner, that he had another RV coming in and we needed to hurry up and leave. granted, he did not say those words but that was implied. I cannot recommend anything about this place. I will never ever go back to this place. .

The park is under new ownership for one year and previous one star reviews are irrelevant. New owner is working to upgrade the park, but still maintain personality of the long standing history of the park. The park sits on the Methow River with good fishing right in front. Owner is nice, very helpful and is working at improvements. With a little work, I would give the park 5 stars. The park has full hook ups, partial hookups, and a large lawn for tents. There is a swimming hole in the river, horse shoe pit, bathhouse with washer and dryer witch does need an upgrade. I'll be interested to go back in a year and see if this park has reached its potential. . read more

First off, I'm a different Randy than the owner. This is the 4th year I've stayed here with my two daughters as part of a YMCA Westerners rafting trip. I'm not sure what the negative reviews are all about, but we've had nothing but positive experiences. Of course we don't try to sneak in extra people in or bring horses. Neither of my girls (11 & 13) or their friends have had any issues with Randy. We tent camp and there is an abundant amount of clean, flat, grassy areas to put up your tent. There are little fire pits with picnic benches scattered around and Randy comes by each night selling bundles of wood for $5. The bathrooms aren't great (we thought the Honey Buckets were better/cleaner), but I wasn't there for the shower facilities. Randy can be a little grumpy, but if you show him some respect, he gives it right back. Last year, his fruit trees were producing and he got upset at some kids who were picking and throwing the fruit. My kids and their friends asked if they could eat some and he helped them harvest an afternoon snack. For a campground, this place makes camping easy and fun! read more
Lightning pines was awesome!!! First off, anyone who's ever REALLY been to lightning pines, knows Randy drinks Rolling Rock, not Coors light- that's pretty important to note. In all seriousness, I called Randy for a big group reservation and he got us a beautiful spot on the river. Lush grass all over the grounds. The bathrooms and shower are a little rough, but not a big deal if you're used to tent camping. As far as Randy goes, we stayed 2 nights and rarely had contact with him. He filled a ball with air for us, which was nice of him. Other than that he was fine. If your host having a beer in his hand at all times will bother your group, then this isn't for you. If you're a fun group that's looking to have a good time then you'll be just fine. read more

This is a great place right along the river. Went here with a YMCA group that uses it frequently and Action Rafting. Great area for tent camping, fun volleyball and close to lots of outdoor fun. I would read with caution coordinated negative reviews of people who didn't like being told they couldn't bring a dozen friends (and horses?!?!) for 3 days without paying for them so decided to get revenge... read more

Great little place to park the rv, full hook ups, quiet, and friendly owner! Not too far off the highway and was very easy to find. Felt great to support a local business after all they've been through with the fires. Check or cash only read more

I made the mistake of nearing this property while jogging on the road. The road ended at the entrance to the park, so I stopped a moment and then turned around to run back up the hill. That's when I was approached aggressively by two men. I was a woman alone on a road at 8am and they yelled at me for "parking on the county road and running down here", for "trespassing," and for snooping around. I explained that I am staying at their neighbor's house and was merely using a publicly maintained road for a jog (as evidenced by my clothing and headphones), - but that I now know visitors are not welcome anywhere near the park (which I never entered). It's a pretty property, from what I could see from the road, but I was run off by two ill mannered aggressive angry and tooth rotted men, one of whom claims to own it. So there's your answer- if you want your daughters staying here, or your wives, enduring this treatment from men who lack manners or decorum, who harass harmless passers by and who jeer and menace - then give old Randy a call. You'll just love it. read more

I truly wish i could give less then one star. We ended up renting an rv space, full hook ups out of necessity. With my boyfriend getting a new job in the area he and his dad hauled the trailer there. Randy the owner started out friendly enough, if you like the visiting owner sort. A visiting owner who is intoxicated at 11am. And for a place we were living he did a great job of not posting his "rules" and loved to change them daily to suit his needs. For example the extra car we had. At move in it was fine, since my boyfriend works 10-12 hour days and then leaves for the weekend. Or that my dog was fine there and then one day shes not. And the dog is as tame as can be. Advertised clean bathrooms, yet they were so foul. Ive seen 10x cleaner facilities at road side rest stops. Shower there and risk a bacterial infection. In the time we were there, i saw the same dirt, garbage, and nastiness in the bathrooms. Not to mention the rotten floor boards, toilets with missing parts, and non locking doors. I think the worst however was when he walked into the womens bathroom on me while i showered. Without knocking. To inform me he had to water the grass and i needed to move my truck. We somehow managed to survive there for 3 months before his brand of crazy became unsafe. Walking around people's rvs at night, going through garbage, raising the rent without cause or notice, threats, harassment, and voyeurism. I highly suggest that no one EVER visit this park, and i plan to contact the police tomorrow about his peeping tom behavior. read more

I give this place and especially Randy ZERO stars. Where to begin...the negative reviews I've read about this place are spot-on! Randy was drunk every time I saw him and was never seen without a Coors Light can in his hand. If you'd like to see his accomplishments, there is a room that appears to have once been a gift store that holds a literal mound of empty Coors Light cans and boxes and the occasional empty Sin Fire bottle. Anyway...Randy complained about me using my RV's air conditioner with my little door open, complained about my sewer hose (that it laid directly on the ground rather than having the prongs that allow the hose to go down at an angle, he accused my guests of leaving horse manure in a place where the horses were never near and he complained that my guests were using electricity in the bathroom when they should be using the porta-potties. Who knew that was a rule??? The truth is my daughter was paying to use the shower and her three friends were with her as it was dark and they were keeping her company. These girls range in age from 12-21. Randy approached the girls IN the bathroom and scolded them about using electricity and them not being paying customers. My daughter and I were paying customers and this night, with Randy's permission of course, we were hosting a potluck with family and friends as we were celebrating a graduation. Once Randy was done scolding the girls, he approached my campsite, from the back like he always did (rather than using the front entrance) and started in on my friends about using the electricity in the bathrooms. I was inside my RV and came out to see what what going on. I reminded Randy that my daughter and I are paying guests. Randy was asked to use the front entrance to my campground rather than sneaking up the back way and this is when Randy leaned over my friend who was sitting down and started waiving his finger my friend's face, saying vulgar words and said he will go wherever he wants as it was his property and he can do whatever he wants. My friend stood up to Randy and towered over him at which time Randy fell backwards, probably from his drunken stupor. Randy then started claiming assault and my friend never ever touched the guy. The Okanogan County Sheriff's department was called, by Randy and by us. Shortly thereafter, a deputy arrived and immediately informed us they have extensive history with Randy for this exact kind of thing. We showed the deputy the mound of dirt outside one of the women's showers that if you go on top of the mound, you have full view of the entire shower. There is also a window in the back of the bathroom (you can see it in the pictures posted on the reviews and website), where if you look in the window, you will see inside one of toilets as well as the inside of the whole bathroom. Our girls were in that bathroom at night and when I confronted him on his set up, Randy simply told me I was "ridiculous." Since the girls didn't actually see Randy watching them, there was nothing the deputy could do about that. I was scheduled to be at the RV park from Saturday to Saturday but on this Thursday night, Randy evicted me. I was more than happy to leave as things were getting worse by the minute. Luckily I met some amazing people who allowed my to finish the remainder of my time and celebration and it was a million times better than having to worry about what Randy was going to do next. If there is anyone out there who's had the same experience with the women's restroom, please reach out and say something as that is the only way people like Randy are stopped and held accountable!!!! read more

If I could give zero stars, Randy would take the cake. Do not stay here! Randy is a crazy belligerent drunk. He has no boundaries and is rude and disrespectful. He found it appropriate to bang on our trailer door at 8am to scream and swear at me in front of our one and a half year old daughter to tell me our puppy was tearing up his 'flower bed' which was a mound of weeds that she had walked in. Next, our puppy and daughter were playing in a puddle outside the trailer and he came marching (drunk) across the park screaming and swearing. He got in my boyfriend's face while he was holding our daughter in his arms. He says laundry is free (3 loads a week or something like that), he went behind me and turned the water level down to low and cold and came banging on my door yelling at me that it wasn't okay to use a high water level because it uses too much well water (he waters his lawn from 7am until dark every single day). Don't plan on taking a shower at any point during the time he waters because you will have zero water pressure. After he had screamed in my boyfriend's face while he had our daughter in his arms, he called the sheriff and told the sheriff my boyfriend threatened him. The sheriff informed us he has been out to Randy's RV Park too many times and he is a drunk and absolutely crazy. He said that randy wanted to 'evict us' and we needed to leave the next morning (due to our horrible experience, we already planned on leaving) and randy was instructed to leave us alone. Randy then left us multiple harassing handwritten letters on our truck. The original agreed upon rate was 400 a month (we planned on staying for a month). It had been exactly 15 days (half a month) the day we left and randy said he changed the rate and we now owed roughly 400 dollars. There was no discussion about a rate change, he just decided he wanted to charge us more. My boyfriend attempted to call him and offer him the 200 dollars he was rightfully owed, and Randy told him to go 'F**k' himself and he would be taking us to court. He attempted again to pay him in person and Randy refused all payment (which we were wise enough to record audio and video footage). Long story short- don't stay here. Save yourself the headache and stress. There's an AWESOME place a few miles up the hill called Big Twin Lakes RV Resort and it's a million times better! read more

where does one start, the list is long, never again will i ever visit Randy's Lightning Pine RV Park.He will not post park rules nor give you a copy, this way he can change them when ever he likes, his web page says $350.00 per month, but he charges $ 400.00,RV, spaces large enough for 1 to 2 tents but when my grandkid's tented by my rv he was in my face about charging more and the smell of beer on his breath, this was around noon, very dangerous dead snags in trees overhead, bathrooms are just nasty,i almost broke through the floor around the head in men's room, shower stall has one wall was just a sheet of old metal roofing, i will post pix of his clean shower and head,he also walked right in women's bath room when my daughter-in-law was in using it, no knock on door just walked right in, he knew she was inside.,Im 58 years old, retired and disabled,i was informed by randy i needed to park my truck 100 to 150 yards away from my RV space and walk so he could water his grass, when i confronted Randy of all this crap, his response was and i quote '' I CAN DO WHAT EVER I WANT,,Well so can i, Attorney Generals Office,Consumer Resource Center,BBB and ADAH, read more

Randy is a terrible owner, stayed here for a while when I was working in the area, had my family with me, one small child and a black lab, and of course my girlfriend. He was always coming around drunk. No matter what time of day. Started to yell at my girlfriend while I was gone at work, then he came up and threatened me in front of my 2 year old daughter: don't stay here. It's a crap hole with a crazy drunk running it, who changes his mind every day about different made up rules. read more

If I could use a negative star I would. We ended up calling the sheriff on Randy the drunk. He was harassing us the entire time we were there. Including following our underage girls around the park. Women if you get that gut instinct listen to it and run. Not only that but while you're showering with the uncovered window, anyone can come into the woman's restroom and do their laundry. Nice touch Randy. read more

Check the women's shower. There are windows peeking into it visible for anyone to see. If you have a bad gut feeling about the place listen to it. My family stayed here and found wires in the women's bathroom that "lead to nowhere". Caretaker was a nutcase drunk that harassed my family and the younger girls. read more
