Great little bowling alley. We came on Saturday night for cosmic bowl. Bowling was $10 per person per game and $5/each for shoes. Pretty costly but not exorbitant for peak time. Good sound system inside for party vibes. Service was good and friendly. The lane we were on kept messing up which was irritating but someone is out quick each time to fix it. Fun arcade with new games that function properly and take quarters, not reloadable cards. Games are about $1 per play. Overall really nice place. Would definitely come back on our next swing through Chelan. read more

We have been coming to chelan for our annual family trip for 12 years! We finally made it to Chelan Lanes! We actually ran into some of our sons old friends too! We had such a great time! We played 2 games, there was 13 of us! Also the food we ordered was good as well! Pitcher of soda $5, flatbread pizza was good, fries, my aunt ordered a bucket of wings and they were actually good wings! Customer service was great! Music was good. It's a perfect evening activity. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun family night out. It's small so get there when you can to reserve your lanes! Another thing is .. I'm not sure if it's recently remodeled but it was Clean! Bathrooms looked brand new. ***Make sure you bring socks, you can't wear your regular shoes on the bowling floor even if you're not playing. So if you have a toddler that isn't playing for example make sure they have socks to walk around in. The sale socks are as well. You can have shoes on where there is carpet where you pay. But that's it. They have a few arcade games to play as well. $10 per person, per game plus shoe rental cost. Definitely check it out! We actually had a lot of fun. Our group was ages 50-5 years old. This really was a perfect way to end the day. Making our way through the snow to get to the bowling alley, which seemed to be one of the only things open later in the evening, we showed up at Chelan Lanes for the blacklight extreme bowling or whatever it's called. We had just had a late night snack at the Apple Cup Café, and then threw on our bowling shoes, ordered a few drinks, and got ready to handle some balls. They had a lot of light balls but not a big selection if you're looking to handle some heavy balls. *ok enough with the ball jokes* This bowling alley is quite small and doesn't have a lot of lanes, but we didn't have any problems since we went in what appeared to be Chelan's off season in February. Since I wasn't the one paying, I really didn't care about the price but on Saturday for the "Thunder Alley" bowling it's $4.50 per person per game + $3 shoe rental. This can add up pretty quick if you play 3 games, but really that's like $15.00 or so, give or take a little for taxes. What I did find interesting was the food menu. There is really a lot of good stuff on the menu, and even vegetarian options. All of my friends kept saying, "We should have came here to eat." The food and drink menu were very reason, I thought, in price and they of course have a decent selection of Chelan area wines if you're wanting to sample some of the local beverages. They play a lot of music from today and late 2000's but also there were songs from practically every other era and genre, so if you're looking to dance and shake dat azz while tossin some balls around, this is the place for that. Everytime my friends and I got a strike (which wasn't that often since we kinda suck) we would bust out a signature dance move. Mine was "the Matrix" sooooo needless to say we got a few stares. Oh and this place has TV's everywhere. You can watch sports on one and something else on the other huge screens. It just so happened Olympic curling was on while we were there sooooooo.....ya. The bathroom is also decent, really old fashioned but not super dirty. Overall, this was a great time especially since I had not been bowling in a really long time. in short, do not go for the food. Staff was nice and helpful Bowling was average fun, but too expensive. For food, I tried the pepperoni pizza. it was horrible, couldn't eat it, think Chef boy-are-dee. Also tried their "milk" shakes, also a huge disappointment, couldn't stomach them either, tasted like flavored water. What a disappointment of a local Chelan business. I loathe writing a bad review, seriously! I love to Yelp good experiences so it may help a new person to town or the traveler, as often I am. Though I must warn those who will vacation here, like my family and what surely the locals know, Chelan Lanes does not deliver a good value or experience. Chelan Lanes is overpriced for the value you receive in food, beverage, fees & overall service. While the wait staff from the bar was friendly and prompt; Don at the front desk who was overseeing the bowling completely ruined this experience with his "bowling tips" after my adult daughter & son-in-law would take their turn. At first it seemed kind, but quickly become awkward, overbearing & weird. It was so over the top, that my family (2 adults & 2 kids) didn't finish their one game for $34.00. Let's talk Food, Beverage & Street Shoes on the tile floor. While Chelan Lanes provides tables for their patrons, you aren't able to use them according to "Don" (not his rules). Never mind the menus on each table, you will be told to move above the area that is designated for your bowling party & NO STREET SHOES on the tile floor either (it's not a specialty floor and not on the bowling lane itself). No food or beverage is allowed in the bowling pit, nor are anyone wearing street shoes....guess there is a first time for everything! Do yourself a favor and bypass this business, unless you like spending $185.00 for overpriced bowling, cardboard pizza & appetizer and enjoy a class one creeper lurking over your family. read more

This bowling alley was fun. We took 12 kids with 7 adults. It was a Sunday night so it was pretty quiet. The bar was closed so that was kind of a bummer, but the bowling and the pool were a lot of fun. The place was clean and well kept. In the summer on the busy weekends it's a long wait for a lane, so I suggest going on a Sunday or week night. Down side was that the bar was closed and I guess it's closed every Sunday. I wouldn't go out of my way to bowl here if you were in Chelan, but it is something fun to do at night with kids. read more

They have a great food menu that is very reasonably priced. They have lots of league opportunities for every level of player. I am a terrible bowler but was asked to join one of the leagues. The owner/family has taken the time to teach me a lot and helped me break 125 for the first time. They take immaculate care of the facility which I really appreciate. They ask that you not wear street shoes when you get down to the lanes or take food down. I was confused at first but now that I know more about the game and etiquette, I understand the safety implications of this. I have seen countless adults and children walk around with mud, snow, gum, you name it on their shoes and then everyone else steps in it and tracks it up to the lanes. It's really unsafe so I am very glad that they take this precaution. It's also frustrating for those with their own bowling shoes when people track stuff in. It can ruin the soles of the shoes. This is a great bowling alley with great employees and great service. read more

The bowling alley itself is in perfectly fine condition. Lanes, balls, etc are all maintained well. The bar/food staff was great! Wonderfully accommodating and checked in on us the whole time we were bowling. Perfect selection of classic bowling food! Super friendly. Unfortunately, the front counter staff was a completely different story. Our group consisted of mostly 12 and 13 year olds and the older lady up front came by and took the 8 pound balls from two of the girls in our group saying that they were for kids only. These girls weigh under 100 pounds and their fingers are too small for the adult balls. So the entire night most of their shots slipped off their hands directly into the gutter. In response, we politely asked them to put up the bumpers so they could enjoy the game. Her response? "Bumpers are only for little kids, you guys will break them. They can only be used by kids that can't physically can't get the ball down the lane" Newsflash--bumpers don't help people physically get a ball further. So our games consistently ended with at least 75% of the shots being zeroes. Absent the front counter staff, I easily would have given this bowling alley a 4 or 5 star review. So if you don't care about being treated well and having good customer service, this place is for you! Moral of the story--don't go here expecting to be greeted by smiles and good charisma by the front desk. I'll update next year how it is then, maybe they were just having a bad day. But it was a terribly unfortunate first impression. read more

This is a family favorite and i have to rave about the service we get. On a Friday afternoon, we were the only folks in the place & the man working the desk saw that my pre-teen was really trying to graduate beyond "the bumpers." She was struggling. He hand-picked a lighter ball for her & politely came over to give her a little advice about how to hold it better. On her next roll, she bowled her first strike! we had no idea that there was bowling in chelan, but we were super excited to see the lanes on our way to the condo. we got into town late on a saturday night and weren't sure if they would be open since almost everything else in the area was already closed, but we gave it a shot. when we got there no one was bowling and a couple people were playing pool. we thought for sure they were closing up, but they said they would stay open and let us bowl. we felt kinda bad for keeping them open and were about to leave after two games. as we were changing out of our bowling shoes some more people came in and started bowling. we stuck around and they stayed open for a couple more hours. we had a great time! the guy working the desk was super nice and didn't mind at all that he was staying late for us. we can't say the same about the bartender who was clearly irritated for having to serve us. they also have 5 huge screens so you can watch different games while you bowl. we went back the next night and he remembered us (our shoe sizes, the lane we liked and my fave song and played it right away). it was a great experience. and there was a different bartender on sunday who was happy to serve us. i don't know if i will ever be back in chelan, but if i am i will definitely return. read more

I was weary of heading to Chelan Lanes after reading some of these reviews, but I have to say our experience was completely different. Don and his staff were very accommodating for my family, including 4 kids running wild between bowling, pool and games. I don't mind a few rules for the bowling alley, including only wearing bowling shoes in the bowling area. For people that took offense to that, I hope they can realize these nostalgic alleyways are sanctuaries for the people that bowl often, and the people that maintain these shiny lanes. I hope more people give Chelan Lanes a shot, especially when they need to get out of the heat. We stayed late enough to see the beginning of cosmic bowling as well, and it looked awesome in there! Save your money! Disappointing! Way overpriced! Don up front went from cool to creepy in a hurry. Everything is way overpriced. $34 for one game of bowling!? $5 coors light and no pitchers? $20 pizzas? Don wouldn't allow our friends that didn't bowl on the tile because they didn't have bowling shoes? Wouldn't allow the food we purchased on the tables on the tiles? It cost our family of 6 (4 of which were bowling) almost $200 to bowl and eat. 2 pizzas, a few drinks, and some unsolicited bowling advice received for that price. Ripoff city. Don wanted to correct all of our bowling techniques. At first I thought he was being helpful, then it turned awkward quickly. He had no interest in making it right either. If I could give zero stars, I would. From overpriced cardboard pizza to creepy staff, I am surprised this place is in business. We spent $150 on 2 pizzas, some "loaded" potato wedges (with no cheese...we had to ask for some), 5 beers and 2 half shots of Crown. The man working (Don), wouldn't leave our adult daughter alone. Every time she bowled, Don would come down and tell her everything she was doing wrong. We were just trying to have fun and enjoy our family. We bowled half a game (2 kids and 2 adults) and it was $34. To top it off, every table has menus but you can't wear street shoes, drink or eat on the tile in the bowling area. Food is good, decent beverage selection, but i love the intimate old school bar, especially the 60 inch TV and the friendly staff. The bowling is cool, a little pricey, but it's a small town monopoly like most of Chelan. I go on Thursdays when everything is $2 so that's a good deal. read more

We had two rounds left to bowl and she told us that they had people on a waiting list so we had to get up and go. She also called us assholes.. So we were confused and upset but respectfully did what she ask. We came on throwback Thursday: where else can you get $2 glasses of wine, $4 cocktails and $2 plates of fries and sweet potato fries? This is $13one of those where they make me leave a one star and if given the choice would give it negative stars if possible. I have been to this alley two times now and each of the two has left me not only feeling angry but wanting to do something to let others know how poor the service at the business is. This time I went in with my wife and two kids, 3 and 18 months. it was in early September which is no longer the high season for this little resort town. We specifically go when it is not high season as we like no crowds but still love the area. We try our best to support the local business while there to keep the place a great spot to vacation for years to come. We went in at 3:20 and there was not a soul in the joint. We were met by the owner that did not start with a "Hi folks!" but instead with a "I have a large group coming in and you will not be able to bowl starting at 4." As I mentioned it was 3:20 and my 3 year old wanted to bowl. You can imagine that the attention span of a three year old is not 40 minutes so we were good on that account. The owner was annoyed that I wanted to still bowl and added that the group would probably be there before 4. I ignored the rudeness and tried to enjoy my time with my son. The owner once again did his best to disrupt that when he barked at my wife to make sure she kept her street shoes off the wood. I am glad that we adults get the some treatment as 2 year olds. The final straw was when the lady that obviously came in to help with this large group went down and turned off my lane prior to my final frame. The time now was 3:55 and no one else was in the bowling alley. I then went up to pay praying that this guy would do the right thing and what do you think he did. He said, "that will be $13." Not even a break on the shoes for 35 minutes of hurry up bowling that I did not get to finish. I paid the man and got my family out of there and vowed that we will never be back. If you go I hope you have a better experience than we did. read more

I went in a bit skeptical after reading reviews but the happy hour bowling was a great deal (1-5pm $3 games and $3 shoes) and the AC on a 103 degree day was just what we needed. This place was great. Very clean, super nice staff and wonderful overall experience. I walked up to ask how to turn the automatic bumpers on for the kids and the guy at the desk asked if they were bowlers 2 and 3. They were and he had already turned them on for us. He also brought out 2 kid weight bowling balls from behind the counter for the kids to use. We had a great time. Didn't snack on the food but did have a beer on HH price. Only thing odd was our 24oz draft came in a heavy plastic cup which I would usually see for fountain soda. Other patrons had frozen pint glasses so maybe that's the only thing they have for 24oz. Oh well! We paid as we left and I simply can't complain about nearly 3 hours of air conditioned entertainment for 5 people for $42. Will definitely be back again...perhaps on this trip! read more

It is the only indoor entertainment in chelan "that is kid friendly." The lanes are super oily the restaurant seems to never be open but hey its cheap and they let my 3 year old bowl so this the main reason that Chelan is her favorite place to go read more
