This place was such a unique and fun restaurant in San Antonio. The food was all fresh with amazing flavors and great ambiance. As other reviews mentioned, service was a little slow, but the waiters were super busy so it was understandable. Great place to go for cool vibes with something different! Little bakery next door with some really amazing looking desserts.

First time trying this place out. A small restaurant. We had a short wait for our table; we waited in the pastry shop next door (connected to the restaurant) Of course Saturdays are always a busy time for restaurants. I had the chicken Shish Kabob which was quite delectable. Portion was ample. My dining guest had the Lamb & Beef Doner which was an ample portion. I saw plastic water bottles on the neighboring tables and thought it looked tacky. It kind of took away something from my dining experience. We tried the baklava (pistachios with filo pastry and butter syrup). Not really a fan of it... we will be returning to try other dishes.

Great vibes. Great food. The meat, rice and salad Combo is perfect. We did beef and lamb. Even my son enjoyed all. It's a solid meal that could feed 2 with the entree if you aren't hungry or greedy af. It came with bread but they forgot the dipping sauce... bummer but my son still tore up. It's next door to a cafe and pastry shop. Great for your sweet tooth after such a wholesome meal. I'm adding them to my "ion feel like cookin" roster!

This place is a MUST try. It's so beautifully decorated. Everyone is very friendly. The service is great and so is the food. We got the mixed grill for two and some appetizers. The crispy philo rolls are excellent the meat and chicken are so delicious. I've been craving this place every day since we went. 10/10 we will be back and recommending this place to everyone. Best meal I've had in a long time. Will be trying some desserts from their neighboring bakery next time. Everything looks amazing!

Pretty slow service and not the most attentive but the food more than makes up for it. Their complimentary bread and dipping sauce is addictive, and everything I've ordered is consistently delicious. Plus, their portion sizes are huge! Just be aware that they do charge for water (they give you water bottles) so bring your own. I also love the abundance of Turkish decor in the restaurant. Favorites: mixed appetizers plate, chicken doner

My family and I stopped by for the first time and tried the falafel, Mediterranean salad, lamb chops, and the Dubai chocolate from the connecting place next door. The lamb chops were absolutely bomb and could give Chamagocha a real run for their money. The rice and salads were fresh, flavorful, and honestly exceeded my expectations. The falafel was decent, but next time I'm definitely going for the garlic shrimp instead. Overall, a great experience and I'd happily come back to try more.

If you have not been to Chef's Table - go...now. I've been here twice now and both times have been Excellent!. Having spent a little time in Turkey (2 years) where I ate a lot of food I appreciate that eating here evoked so many memories of food shared with others. On our first visit, we started off with the mixed grill. Really loved the muammara, though the baba ganoush was also outstanding - and who can forget that bread! Its warm, and so good at soaking up pretty much anything. For my main, I had to get the lamb tava. You don't see this on a lot of menus in the US. This is flavorful, with bell pepper, onion, garlic, and tomatoes. It was perfect, truly warmed the soul. On the second visit I opted for the Iskender kabob. Lamb and beef thinly sliced layered over.....bread.....which soaked up all those juices. Again - perfect. Don't forget dessert (store next door, but connected). There is nothing better to end a great meal than a great dessert. I'm a huge fan of pretty much pistaciho anything. I think its times to plan another trip to SATX!

I loved their fresh bread and baba ghanoush. I also got to try their Iskender kebab and it was pretty good as well. The fries were ok I feel like they could be a bit crispier. The workers were nice and the inside is so really unique. The food came out fast as well.

This is what we ordered and it was excellent

The food is very good and hospitality was excellent. We will definitely come back again. And they give you very generous servings.

Tonight we tried this restaurant and it was amazing! The staff, the food, the location...everything was great! We've never had Turkish food before so we decided to be safe and order the pide. It's basically a Turkish pizza. My husband had a cheese pide and I had a spinach and feta pide. So flavorful and filling. The bread and dipping sauce they bring when you are seated was also fantastic. The sauce is spicy but not too spicy. It's a kind of sweet and salty and like nothing I've ever tried. They also have a Turkish coffee and dessert place connected. The pastries look like they are out of a magazine. So perfect looking. We went a little late in the evening so I didn't get to try the coffee but I definitely intend to the next time I come back.

So received a pop up ad for this place and decided to try it for dinner today. The food is oh-so flavorful. For appetizers we ordered the falafel and it was cooked to perfection. The fried cauliflower isn't quite fried but moreso boiled. My partner ordered chicken Iskender and the sauce mixed with the chicken was so good but add the crispiness? OMG so good. There was so much to choose from and I couldn't pick so my waitress picked for me (she didn't miss). I had the mix grill for one. All in all the jams in the restaurant are befitting for the ambiance of this place. Great for date night but also overall a great place! 10/10 highly recommend. Will be going back again!

    Babcock location

I hate to write this as I had such a great experience at the Babcock location. My family and I walked in to the Bandera location and as soon as we entered we were rudely greeted by an older woman because my sister walked straight to a table. She started pointing to a sign that was backwards by the way that said "please wait to be seated". Unfortunately we did see it because the sign was backwards and not facing the entrance. The woman then asked how many in our party. My sister told her that there are 8 in our party. She then, with an attitude, said I need to know how many kids and how many adults. I didn't understand why this was important as all the children needed a chair to sit in regardless. She kept going back to talk to a gentleman and he just told her to seat us. She then offered us two large seating areas and told us to choose which one. As soon as my sister chose the table on the right, she then suggested we take the table to the left instead. I don't even understand the purpose for giving us an option then suggest something else. My family and I just felt very uncomfortable in the 5 minutes we were in there. We ended up just walking out. I can only imagine how we would have been treated if we stayed. I hate to even write this because we have only positive experiences at the Babcock location and the food is delicious.

IMO, these are the ratings: Food: 4.8/5 Service: 4.7/5 Ambiance: 4.8/5 Total: 4.76/5 Probably the best Chicken Doner we've had! I am never a fan of lamb, but if i crave it i am very particular on how i want it cooked. They did an amazing job with that!

This was fantastic! And the interior decor was pretty cool with the Turkish chandeliers. The eggplant was great.

We left quite stuffed and extremely satisfied. It was a nice day so we ate outside but the interior was very pleasant and was filled with diners even at 2 pm. Everything here is fresh, perfectly seasoned, healthy and oh-so-tastey. This place was recommended to me by a fellow foodie and Yelper, and we're very grateful for the recommendation. Upon entry, my guest and I were greeted promptly and invited to sit anywhere we liked. My guest and I immediately noticed the traditional Turkish aromatics that filled the establishment. The waitress who tended to our table was engaging and explained the menu in depth as well as vouched for the food's authenticity. As my guest and I wanted to try multiple menu items, we elected to order the dishes that offered an array of food. Appetizer: Cold Platter This dish included hummus, babaganoush, dolma, ezme, and piyaz. The plater was properly "stacked" with the flavors of the app. going from "punchy" to mild. The piyaz was a perfectly balanced white bean salad packed with Mediterranean flavors. This combination of white beans, tomatoes, onions, and parsley was simple and yet deliciously satisfying! The dolma on this dish was a perfect combination of filling vegetables, grape seeds, Rumex, hornbeam, and quince leaves, with a kick of lemon. The babaganoush was light and refreshing. The simple combination of roasted eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt is something that is not to be missed if you are looking for a vitamin packed dip. The Ezme "mashed" was made mainly with tomatoes, cucumber, and olive oil and packed a little punch, which most likely was accredited to the peppers. Main: Hot Mixed Platter This dish included meatballs, chicken, beef, and lamb (doner) atop veggies and rice. All the meats on the plate were seasoned to perfection and tender. My guest and I ate the meats so quickly that I am not able to appropriately describe the flavors other than with the a word, "delectable". Dessert: Dessert Platter This platter had a sampling of Tiramisu, čupavci, KÜnefe, and Baklava. Although the čupavci and KÜnefe looked great, I couldn't eat them as they both are made with coconuts (to which I am allergic). I actually took a bite of the KÜnefe before I realized that it had coconut shavings in it. With this dessert, the cheese is arranged between two layers of Kadayıf (shredded phyllo), cooked until golden, and soaked in a sweet syrup. The čupavci (sponge cake) was soaked in chocolate sauce, then dipped in unsweetened, shredded coconut. Fun fact: Čupavci means "furry" because of the fuzzy surface the coconut provides, which I learned when I visited Turkey many years ago. Java Folks who read my reviews know that I am a java junkie. So, of course, I requested the Turkish coffee. Turkish coffee is prepared with more water than its Italian counterparts and is meant to be sipped rather than drunk quickly like a shot. There is also a tradition of reading the grinds at the bottom of the cup to tell fortunes, known as tasseography. Turkish coffee cups are small, similar to the size of an espresso cup, but with a rich history of their own. This coffee is prepared traditionally and provided a much needed pick me up. This family restaurant has authentic quality food and the highest level of service. If in the area, this locally owned spot is worth a try. Total for the meal before tip $89.00 #supportlocal

The ambiance was great, everything from the decorative rugs, Arab writing on the wall, tagine pottery and brass crafts were perfectly displayed. The tabbouleh salad was very tasty, it had the right amount of ingredients making it pretty as well as colorful placed in the neat brass metal bowl. Now with the things that require immediate remedial attention: 1. The burger was overrated, overcooked and dry. 2. The chick pea salad lacked chick peas, dressing, onions and feta cheese. 3. The lamb Kofta plate was prepared right however, it was not enough meat for the price and the cream sauce tasted like straight butter with a hint of garlic. The pita bread was lukewarm and looked like it had been unwrapped, quartered and thrown in a microwave for 30 seconds prior to serving it. 4. Drinks Ordered: The Cafe' Arabia was very tasty BUT, I didn't get it until we were almost done with our meal. We ordered drinks when we were first seated so that was a big red flag. My wife also ordered the Moroccan mint teapot and she didn't get it until after I got my coffee. I told the barista/waiter to cancel it when I got my coffee but he said it was also ready for us and could put it in a to-go cup for her. That kind of defeated the whole experience of drinking tea while waiting for our meal. 5. The service was really slow. Took over 15 minutes to get our (tap) waters and 20 minutes for our food when we were the only ones in the restaurant until we had placed our order. 6. The waitress needs some serious people skills and bussing training to know how to serve food and drinks. She touched the tops of the glasses her fingers. She didn't greet us and practically dropped the plates on the table when she brought them out. To add insult to injury, she put the handheld pay device on the table without asking us if we wanted or needed anything else. My kids wanted to try out some desserts, so luckily for us, the nearby HEB has plenty to offer. I had high hopes for this place because of what the owner posted on Instagram and it is so close to our neighborhood. Guess we will have to continue driving further into the city to other Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern restaurants that have better food and service.

So it was our desire to get familiar with the cuisine, prior to the trip. Moroccan Bites was our choice and we couldn't have been happier we found it. The owner's daughter was our server and since she is from Marrakech, we took her suggestions on what to order. Not only was she extremely friendly, she took the time to prepare us for the culture we are about to experience and provided much needed help. For our meal, we went with an eggplant app and wifey and I ordered the Lamb couscous plus the Chicken Pastilla to share. The couscous meal was loaded with veggies, lamb and of course, couscous. The flavors were delicate and not overpowering at all. The Chicken Pastilla dish can pass for a desert with the cinnamon and powder sugar on top of a light pastry, just like a pie. It was my favorite entree of the night. Don't forget to try the mint tea. It's served hot and sweet and might actually give my Texas ice tea addiction a little competition. You shouldn't travel to a foreign land without trying their dessert options, or even travel across town as it was in our case. The glass display case caught our attention immediately, even before we sat down to look at the menu. We couldn't decide on what sweets to try, so we compromised and ordered several different kind of things. From the lemon cake to the Baklava, it was all very delicious. The Baklava is French like in its flaky texture and light enough to put down half a tray if given the chance. The inside of the restaurant is clean, has ample tables and is decorated in the country's cultural theme. Well, Moroccan Bites, thanks for a great meal and you have raised our expectations on what we are about to go through.
