Kid-friendly vibe: Chef walked into a wild house with 6 fifth grade boys watching the Ram's championship game. He was so positive and there for it all! He adjusted his tip sessions during commercials and kept the boys super engaged even with so much going on. I recently reached out to Chef Philly Phill with an odd request.. I was looking to recreate the Fork N Film experience at home with a surprise Shrek themed dinner for my husband's birthday. I received a response quickly and he was totally up for it and created a silly (but delicious and well rounded!) menu for the evening. He and Tiffany served the themed foods as we played the movie and even our youngest kids sat and ate each course. I met Phil at a Christmas party where he was cooking for a friend of mine, and I was completely blown away by how delicious everything was. Every dish was incredible! Later I found out that Phil prepares and delivers personal meals for people who live alone or just want amazing home-cooked food without the hassle. Now he brings me a week's worth of meals every Thursday, and I honestly look forward to it every single week to see what he's made next. His pot roast was unbelievable--honestly even better than the one I make, and I consider myself a pretty good cook! A BBQ for my son's birthday was such a hit due to Chef Phill's on-site catering services! He was able to set up an outdoor grill to accommodate my 70 guests at the Redondo Beach Lagoon. He made mini sliders, chicken skewers, and pasta salad. All was perfectly seasoned and appealing for kids as well as adults. Where do I even begin? Chef Phill is the real magic chef. It's as though he came to my bday last Tuesday night on a mission to make people dream of his food forever & ya know what? Mission accomplished. Chef not only helped us move a very heavy /cumbersome table from high heights, he also served up the most succulent, delicious beef empanadillos I've ever had in my life. No sauces needed. From the crunchy savory freshly fried tostones with homemade mayoketchup, to Puerto Rico's take on lasagne called pastelon to the pollo guisado (all of which I'm still eating leftovers!) my guests & I were blown away. I am sure chef would have been happy to cook quietly in my kitchen but people were constantly coming upstairs to ask him for his food's secrets. (Apparently the secret is in the sofrito recipe.) Arroz con gandules & arroz blanco abounded & kept my guests from getting way too tipsy off my ultra boozy cocktails. Tiffany, his faithful business partner, stood behind the buffet like a jovial soldier all night serving the extremely joyful party goers. She also helped clean up too & somehow, Chef used a deep frier in my kitchen & left exactly zero trace of oil. I recently engaged Chef Philly Phill and his staff for my mother's repast. Of course, I was trying to plan a number of events (internment, memorial service, etc.) during a very stressful and emotional time. That said, Chef and his team were fantastic! He was responsive, patient and understood the assignment. My goal was to honor my mom in a memorable way. My mother was known for having teas in her home. I didn't want a typical tea, but one that was reflective of who she was. I got proposals that took too long to get, proposals that didn't reflect what I wanted and proposals that came way too late. When I contacted Philly Phil, it only took one or two calls to firm up the menu, etc. The team worked with the church, and it all came together beautifully. There were three things I heard over and over from my guests: 1) How good the food was (petite red velvet cake, sweet potato pies, banana pudding, brisket sliders, fried chicken on top of biscuits...), 2)how everything reflected the person she was and 3) how proud she would have been and that it was as if she had planned it herself. As my last tribute to my mom, they understood my vision and executed it well beyond my expectations. They handled EVERYTHING. There wasn't a moment when I had to ask for anything, question anything or think about anything. On top of everything else, they were patient and remarkably kind. I'm not sure my review does them justice. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your event. Chef Philly Phil was recently hired for a teambuilding event for 8 people. From start to finish, the experience was fun, informative, and delicious. We made pasta from scratch and also two different sauces. The ingredients were fresh, and the atmosphere in the kitchen at Lazy Acres was welcome. Best of all, we got to enjoy a restaurant-quality meal that we made ourselves, and also delicious salad, bread and tiramisu that Chef provided! He brought all the ingredients - and also the air fryer. The best part was how great he was with Kaira - and also my younger granddaughter Amara.
