We recently attended my brother's and his new husband's wedding reception at a friend's home that was catered by Renaissance. They were on time and very professional. The three men efficiently and quickly had the set up ready for the food. Then came the deliciousness. Everyone was toe-tapping happy with it all. Even though I almost never give 5 stars for catering let alone restaurant, the amount of food cooked and the range provided is outstanding. Even at large volume. Brisket was soft and tender. The menu he prepared was exactly what we wanted and included everything imaginable. Chef arrived on time with his crew and had everything up and going right on time. All the guests were raving about the food the minute we started eating. The food from Renaissance might have been the highlight of the wedding, not the ceremony! There are many small businesses in town who cater and may also have good food however it's the service after the sale that makes a difference to me. There was a small logistical problem during the event and Chef made sure to take care of it the next day completely to our satisfaction. We attended an event at the Neon Graveyard catered by Renaissance Catering and enjoyed the delicious food so much that I was determined to use this company when I hosted a large party at our home. We were not disappointed. We selected about ten items to serve from a huge menu offered by Renaissance (see photos): lamp chop pops. shrimp skewers, a salmon platter with fixin's, a veggie, fruit and cheese spread, a dessert spread, and more. Our guests could not get enough and they left with covered plates filled with leftovers. The professional staff was remarkable... friendly, helpful, keeping everything warm (or chilled, as needed) and kept everything topped off and plentiful. At the end they cleaned up and were gone, leaving very little mess for us to deal with. We love this company and hope to use them again. read more

We decided to host our engagement/my birthday party at home and wanted someone to come in and do what I call the heavy-lifting. We wanted to enjoy our party and not think about the work involved to feed 100ish people, fill the coolers, and chase down empties. We contacted Chef Michael and explained our vision and immediately received a proposal with a stellar menu and all the notes that met our needs: staffing for the food, bussing, bartending... the works! I was excited leading up to the party, and I can tell you that we were blown away by the professionalism, knowledge, affability of the staff and genuine care for their guests. Fully self-contained and beautifully crafted displays, bar, furnishings, everything. They came to the house and looked at the spaces and made an easy-flowing, guest-centric setup that could not be beat. The food was fresh and tasty, and every care was taken to gauge the crowd and their tastes; the dishes were rotated regularly and were set up by stations. The variety was surprisingly broad considering the work that it takes to manage so much: beautifully grilled Chianti skirt steak, sous-vide salmon filets, the juiciest chicken, and all with the freshest veg and orzo and salad. These folks were with us for 10 hours and never faltered. Gracious and hard-working until the very end. They also filled our patio coolers with drinks and left us with perfectly packaged leftovers! I wanted to love the experience, but can't get past the unprofessionalism. Have you ever had a caterer not only "throw away" leftovers, but feed their staff with the food you paid for? Then proceed to lie about how much food was left and the condition it was in? From the start, we had communication issues. I gave Chef Michael the benefit of the doubt. He's a chef, not a tech. However, it proceeded to get worse. My event contract stated from 6pm to 9pm. The staff showed up at 3:40pm, the dinner buffet started at 6pm, the cake was completely served by 7:30, and they were gone by 7:40pm. I had no idea that the food was being taken away and eaten by the staff in my garage while I had my back turned. Upon confronting Chef Michael about the situation, he proceeded to tell me the little food that was leftover was old and dried out, extra food was sent with the staff to feed them, and most people don't want food that has been left out for 4 hours. After confirming with him that I have video of the staff taking trays of food and eating exactly what was taken away from my guests in the timeline I mentioned above, his tone became defensive and aggressive. He admitted what was done was wrong. His solution was to bring me extra food on another day, but that does not fix the problem of feeding the guests I had on one of the most important days of my life, my wedding. I hired Renaissance Catering solely based on the raving reviews on social media. I regret my decision and should have done some more research. Had I done so, I may have found out that the man I hired to be at my house, full of children, is a 2 time registered sex offender. read more

For my sister's birthday, I decided to throw a black-tie formal dinner party in the middle of the most remote, desolate desert plain you ever did see, about 60 miles outside Vegas (photo 1). There was no water, no shade, no cell signal, no nothing...except sand dunes, and a bunch of borderline-insane hippies in tuxedos and evening gowns (photo 2). Renaissance Catering KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! We had a four-course dinner including soup, salad, orzo, veggies and steak...and everything was fantastic! Not only did these people have the logistical cojones to pull this off, they also had the culinary chops. Everyone left satisfied -- even the vegans among us were accommodated. The tables looked great and the place settings were elegant, considering the remote location (photo 3). I was 110% pleased and will definitely use Renaissance Catering for future events! Last week, I had to plan an event for 300 people in a hot warehouse with no A/C  and struggled to find vendors 4 days before the grand opening. One look at the 5-star reviews and the choice was obvious - Renaissance Catering.  Those 5-star reviews are earned and with everything needed for my event in under a week, it is no different!  Not only was Chef Reymundo wonderful to work with on the design and details for the event, he is a very patient and kind individual.  He initially created a menu that after review needed some small changes and he came back with a grand array of choices that fit the theme. The day of the event, I arrived early to find Chef Reymundo and his staff ready to go. His team was impressive with every single person working hard during the numerous hours spent in a hot warehouse with no AC. They never complained as they worked diligently serving, prepping desserts (thank you Nika and Tamika), and cleaning tables. His team engaged with our guests to eat the delectable dishes and enjoy the special fruit juices chef prepared. The watermelon water was outstanding and a huge hit! Chef Reymundo even assisted an employee (of the company holding the event) grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. He did not need to lend a hand especially over a hot grill, but generously jumped in which made it much less stressful. He is one of those rare individuals who look where assistance might be needed and rises to the occasion. A true asset!!!
