Came late, came ill-prepared (forgot many ingredients and he went out once and we had to go once more to fetch ingredients). I requested tres leches for my husbands bday dinner and he messed that as well and made bana something. When I reminded him, he offered to go out and buy from a store. I could have done it myself, why would I pay $400 for a meal with this much chaos??!!!! Very disappointed.

I originally…read morewanted to hire a private chef to come in and cook but due to the car and parking restrictions of the neighborhood of the rental home we were in, it was not possible. The biggest plus with this company is the prices are extremely affordable. And they are very accommodating to any budget. They were very open to any and all food ideas I had. I had 14 guests to feed, therefore had a few dietary restrictions, but we were able to work around them so that everybody still got to enjoy the food! On my initial call with the company, I was promised a setup with silver chafing trays because I wanted to avoid aluminum, as I was setting up for a formal dinner. I requested a contract specifically asking for this to be in it, which it was not. I also sent a follow up email a few days prior to arrival to confirm that this could happen. I only got a phone call the day before my event that this could not happen. I was disappointed by this. They did explain the situation considering it would be an extra charge and it would require drop off AND pick up. But this was never explained to me in our initial call which is why I was upset. I decided to just let it go. On the evening of our event, all of the food was delivered in the aluminum trays. After drop off, I noticed a part of one of my dishes was missing, therefore I had to call the driver and have him bring the final dish. This delayed our formal dinner by about 45 minutes. In general, the food was actually delicious. Nobody in my group noticed or even cared about any of the mishaps. It was mostly logistical things that bothered me. Every one of my guests really enjoyed the food. The favorite dish was a Braised Shortrib in Cianti Reduction. It was beautifully tender and delicious! I would say for a new company, I understand that drop off catering may not be something that they are used to. I would expect that having the private chef come in and cook would be a much better experience, but nonetheless we really enjoyed the food and the price was extremely affordable.

We wanted to host an engagement party for 25 people at home with hors d'oeuvres and dessert bites. Upon reaching out, Chef Tonya quickly responded with her full menu offerings and suggested popular items, as well as what she thought would pair well with our "wine night" theme. On the day of the event, we were in awe of how delicious everything was. She's incredibly intuitive and knows exactly when to take initiative too, which we appreciated the most. We didn't need to direct her on where anything was--she simply found what she needed without interrupting the flow of the evening. At the end, she thoughtfully packaged all the leftovers using our Tupperware and Ziploc bags, making it easy to store or send food home with guests. Some of our favorites from the night were the crab cake bites, baked potato bites, lemon bars, and cheesecake bites. All the veggies in the crudité were incredibly fresh too!

This was my first time to hire a caterer, as I usually do all the cooking myself. With my first phone conversation with Chef Tonya, I immediately felt very comfortable that Tine to Dine would do a wonderful job and that the food would be made with love and care. We had a group of 35 guests and chose a menu of small bites. The presentation was beautiful (they even provided a centerpiece!) , there was something for everyone (young children to special diets) and every item was absolutely wonderful! Made from scratch, with good, fresh ingredients. Raves from all our guests! Perfect. My son and his fiancé also used Tine to Dine for their day after wedding brunch. We had the pleasure of a 2nd meal prepared by Chef Tonya and Chef Faye! And all was wonderful again!

He brought all of the ingredients and the cooking equipment, occasionally entertained us while the food was cooking, and cleaned up after himself. I mean spotless. We had chicken, sausage, and shrimp in the paella -- one of us didn't want mussels. Lots of high quality ingredients, including the saffron. We didn't think we could finish the large dish but I may have had three portions. Definite 5 stars for Chef Ray.

I interviewed several private chefs to cook a dinner for 14 and knew almost instantly that Ray was my guy. As the dining table and kitchen are in close proximity, I knew chef would necessarily be part of the evening and I wanted someone whose personality would vibe with our unruly, irreverent, straight/gay tribe of bff's. What was served was superb. The food was yummy, scrumptious, delectable. All the words. And it was a real challenge to devise a menu that accommodated numerous personalities and dislikes. So, rest assured Ray is creative, resourceful and very skilled. But HOW it was served - with gregarious warmth and humor - truly made the evening special. Everyone totally fell in love with Ray and swooned over his culinary offerings. Days later, I was still receiving gushy texts about the food, the chef and the magical atmosphere. Thank you Ray, for helping turn a potentially crappy moment into a lovely, unforgettable one. I will take a little credit for having the common sense to choose you :)
