Always consistent quality (good not great)... we come here every visit to lake and enjoy the option for Chinese.

The only chinese restaurant that my picky boyfriend eats. He loves the beef and broccoli. All their food is good, the place is clean and the service is great. It's also convienient after a whole day of fishing at lake anna being that its so close to the marina where we stay at. read more

My husband and I go about once a week. The service is great...the food is wonderful...the atmosphere is enticing! It is usually a great place to just sit and enjoy good company and great food! read more

Inconsistent. People are relatively nice, but it seems that they rotate people a lot. One night it's excellent, the next it's terrible. Mostly do carry out, the bar and restaurant are actually nice aesthetically. Water tastes terrible if you are a water only drinker like myself. read more

We too had loved this place! We ate there at least once a week and would order "to go" if we had too many visitors to eat there in person. My husband has never really enjoyed Chinese food but would reluctantly go there because the rest of us loved it! Well, last September I decided to give my husband a break and not push to eat there. He really did not enjoy that type of food. But that changed this past weekend when I really felt like Chinese food. He agreed and the two of us went in to eat. The waitress was very pleasant, as always. I ordered my normal Vegetable Delight with added white meat chicken. The dish itself looked a bit different. Not as many vegetables and I checked to see if chicken had actually been added. My first bite told me something was very different. The sauce was not the same and with each bite of "chicken" I kept saying... this is definitely not the same chicken! So many jokes out there.... but I kept hoping that it was indeed chicken! Very tough and the color was grayish. I picked at the vegetables and the rice and noticed that my husband was struggling with his chicken also. He was getting upset because he could not easily cut through a single chunk of his General Tso's. His sauce definitely overpowered his dish too. We both looked at each other and agreed that we had probably had enough and decided that we would not be going back there for a long time. We did not enjoy it at all! We were going to ask our waitress what had happened to the place but another girl had dropped off our check and took our money. Hopefully there can be some changes made and the original great tasting food returned but for now.... it's not on our restaurant list. We'll keep checking the reviews. read more

Nice prices and staff although it is kinda small and so you can tend to to have to wait before you sit down for you evening meal. The food was okay I've been to places that have served better and their take out is not very good I would recommend going in to eat your food. read more

There seems to be a steady decline in the quality of food and service. This place stays closed during the week and misses on cashing on the lunch customers. I have been here several times and decided not to patronize this place any longer. Disappointing ! read more

Pretty decent Chinese food, especially for being the only one in the area and for being in the middle of nowhere. I called in our large order for pickup and the employee who answered was very friendly. Our food was already waiting for us, which was nice. It is a small establishment in a strip mall. Once we arrived, we forgot to order one more item off the menu. We put the additional order in and the employee notified us that it would take 10+ minutes but it came out in 5 min. We had ordered so much food and they got the order completely right. Love it! We ordered cashew chicken, chicken lo mein, general tso chicken, chicken wings, and crab rangoon. Everything was delicious! The only "complaint" my husband made was that the general tso chicken wasn't spicy enough. Besides that, everything from the friendly service to the food was wonderful! read more

Had a great dine-in experience. Great Chinese dishes in a pleasing atmosphere.

Chef Lee is quite good - best in the area. Have eaten there four times. Generous servings at a fair price, good service and comfortable surroundings. Really like the shrimp dishes... beef and chicken dishes are good too. Try Triple Delight or Shrimp with Walnuts... Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls are good appetizers. Stay away from the calamari appetizer - seemed like it may have come out of a box. Don't forget to try one of their martinis... yum! read more

Excellent food and service. What a terrific add for the Lake Anna area

This is not the best Chinese food I've ever had. Its the most expensive I've had. I don't understand why their food is so expensive, its not very good. The restruant itself is very nice, very nice, the people are nice, the food has much to be desired. Go to Hunan in Louisa, they have much better food and prices. read more

Food ok, not great. Shrimp and scallops had 1 scallop in it... C'mon man!! Plenty of water chestnuts tho. Ok for a quick bite when you don't want to cook. That or there's always pizza next door. read more

I have to agree with Beth's review that Chef Lee's used to be our go-to Chinese restaurant, but......got take-out there last night and it was TERRIBLE! The spring rolls were doughy - not cripsy at all - the Chinese noodles were (like hers were) STALE - so stale that the soup didn't even help cover the stale taste! The dumplings in the Wonton soup were nothing but dough - no filling AND..........the "Happy Family" main course.........my husband and I both felt like we were going to throw up in the midst of eating it! We were SO disappointed!! We have always enjoyed the restaurant - eat in or take out - and like Danny V. says we so want to see a local place stay for a change! But.......if this one continues like this........ We will give it another try and hope they were just having a bad night. read more

This place is embarrassing to Lake Anna !!! I will leave it at that....Everything was fine until Chef lee himself started cooking !!!

I like this restaurant. It has good food at reasonable prices. Most restaurants do not offer lunch menu prices on weekends but Chef Lee does! Good place. read more

Prior to tonight, we have often made the drive from Western Louisa County to Lake Anna to dine at Chef Lee's. We have always had great food and positive experiences - until tonight. We had family visiting from out of town, and wanted to share our favorite Chinese haunt with her. My MIL ordered shrimp with garlic sauce as her main dish. What she received was shrimp in "some other sauce." She wasn't sure if she got what she ordered or not, but was disappointed in her dish. When our server came by, my MIL told her she didn't think she received what she ordered, and described what she had expected. The server returned to our table and told my MIL that she was right. They had prepared the wrong dish. We asked if an adjustment could be made to our check. The Manager came to our table and proceeded to tell us all the reasons they couldn't comp my MIL's meal. It was like pulling teeth, but she finally gave us $3 off her meal. She stood there and argued with customers over their chef's mistake! Worst customer service EVER! I vowed never to return. It's a shame, but my husband and I have worked in customer service positions, and we know the value of providing good service. Good food, but hope you don't have to send your food back - unless you're in the mood for a debate! read more

i ordered there once will never do it again. the food was nasty so nasty that when we sat down to eat it we threw it in the trash .

Tonight the food was perfect! I like the Walnut Shrimp. My husband was very happy with the Cashew Chichen. Was so good! There are not a lot of choices in Mineral Va. Thank god this man decided to put his business here!! There is hope for us foodies in the country. read more

I am a local who has lived at Lake Anna for 25 years. I can't tell you how many dozens of start up restaurants I've watched over the years try to survive yet not make it in this seasonal resort area. Chef Lee's is one that has been here for just over 3 years and definitely isn't going anywhere!! I pickup take out food from here twice a week (including last night) and I think it is hands down the BEST Chineese food I've ever had!! If there was one comment I would make that might be seen as a negative to some, it would be that their dinner prices are realistically $3 per entree high. I would much rather Chef Lee charge the extra 3 bucks so he will continue to remain in business here at Lake Anna versus closing his doors as so many restaurants around here have done. Chef Lee is a smart business man as he realizes that he must command a bit more money during the busy 6 months out of the year to carry the business through the dead Winter months. Tourist to the area must keep in mind that although the Lake may seem crazy busy to them now, during the Summer months, but when I walk into Chef Lee's in February in the height of Winter, there can be times when there isn't a single customer in the place - yet his gorgeous, recently built, spotlessly clean restaurant is always fully staffed with at least 6 employees there at all times and the food is just as fresh and delicious then as it is when there are 50 dine in customers seated and a line of carry out customers waiting to pick up their orders. . I seldom write reviews, but after reading some of the negative reviews about Lee which several were no doubt written by non locals that live in highly populated areas with competitive Chineese restaurant on every block offering entrees for $5.95, I felt it was worth my time to share my opinion of Chef Lee's restaurant and try to explain that Lee charges what he must in order to be here for them next year when they hook up their boats and drive down to Lake Anna and don't feel like driving 60 miles round trip up to town just to satisfy their dinner urge for Chineese cuisine. Hint: For those of you trying to save the $3, order Chef Lee's "Lunch Special" as the portion size is almost the exact same as the "dinner" portion! In case you're wondering what this "local's" favorite entree is (which I order 80% of the time) WITHOUT A DOUBT IT'S.......GENERAL TSO'S CHICKEN!!! Mmmmmm Gooooood! read more
