It wasn't empty, the dispenser didn't have a cartridge in it, so either some budget-conscious customer liberated it, or they just didn't bother to replace it. - This is an old Denny's. The springs of both benches in the booth I was seated in had long departed this world, so I switched seats. - As I went to sit in a regular chair, I reached to pull it under me, and almost fell as the seat came right out of the chair. No joke. - They actually had unagi with the regular buffet sushi, which would've been awesome if they had any eel sauce. They don't and dry eel is not good, I found out. Most of the food was decent but much was not. Not enough to raise the rating, anyway. Very disappointing.

The family run restaurant has a menu and quality that is comparably to some of the best in suburban areas of New York City where the standards are quite good. I sampled the fried dumplings, sesame chicken, beef with broccoli and pork with snow peas and found them all delicious. The service was very attentive and the price was reasonable.

But despite that, and my love for pretty much any dumpling, I was not wowed by the flavor of either the dumplings or the dipping sauce. Sesame chicken. Kudos that they use chicken breast, I suppose that's intended to be a sign of quality. But it made the chunks of chicken much dryer. The dish was actually more like orange chicken that they'd sprinkled some sesame seeds on top of. Not necessarily bad, but very different than the many other takeout sesame chicken dishes I've ordered. The beef and broccoli, apparently a favorite, was the most successful of the three. The beef, while a bit chewy, was not overcooked, and made a pretty pleasant bite. The broccoli was plentiful and nicely al dente, and the sauce was flavorful. I don't expect I'll order from W'lin's again. But 4 stars in support of a well loved local business.
