I attended a wedding here. This place had a spacious outdoor area and was right on the water. The…read moreinside was nice as well. The best part of the night was probably the service. They were tremendous and very accommodating all night. The cocktail hour had a number of different options ranging from a seafood table to Charcuterie plates to a gyro station. There was also a number of pastas and a section for Asian cuisine with stir fry being served. There were numerous staff members walking around with handheld dishes too. My favorite option here was probably the harissa at the gyro station. I had that on a falafel gyro, and it was very flavorful. The sushi rolls were decent at best while the grilled chorizo was tasty. Those were just a few of the many dishes I had. For dinner, there was a choice of three main courses along with a salad. The salad consisted of mixed greens, frisee, endive, almond silvers, dried cranberries, and goat cheese with a white balsamic vinaigrette. This was a well put together salad. The white balsamic vinaigrette was key as it brought all the flavors together. Regarding the main course, I was able to share two, the filet mignon and Chilean seabass. The filet had a bordelaise sauce with carrots, asparagus, and a red bliss potato cake. The seabass was pan seared with an heirloom tomato fondue, asparagus, carrots, and a rice pilaf. These were decent at best. The filet had an inconsistent temperature throughout as it was cooked to a medium on the inside while the outside was more well done. The vegetables were a tad hard while the potato cake was nicely fried. It was expected at a large event. The seabass was cooked nicely, but just well under seasoned. The fondue was okay while the rice was a tad hard too. For dessert, cake with ice cream was served. I doubt the cake was made on the premise, but it was not too bad. It was all vanilla I believe including the ice cream. Will I go back? Probably.

Unfortunately, they understaffed the bar staff significantly which had a major negative impact on our guest experience. They knew it was staffed poorly and didn't correct. We should have had 6 bartenders by their own admission. We had 3 for the cocktail hour and 4 for the reception and after hour. I was unable to find anyone who admitted they could do anything about it and, as of a week later, have not heard back from an owner. They claim they hold 400 but admit they can't have more than 4 bartenders behind the bar. The lines were 25 minutes long. The waiters serving tables also had to wait on line. This caused people to order multiple drinks so they didn't have to wait and made the lines worse. The bartenders were also very slow and unfriendly.

You can tell he loves what he does because the food was made with quality ingredients and passion. I loved everything from start to finish. The burrata salad was my favorite part of the whole meal that it left me wanting a second helping. The tuscan chicken was also amazing. It looked and tasted like something you would get at an excellent-rated restaurant. It was accompanied by parmesan polenta, which I also loved. For the dessert, we had tiramisu, olive oil cake with gelato, and pistachio cannoli. All the dessert items were delicious. I especially loved the olive oil cake with gelato. As I'm writing this, I can feel myself getting hungry again just thinking about all of the food that we had, hahaha. I would definitely recommend Chef Nik to friends and family if they are ever in search of a personal chef.

Valet parking and the car was returned in the same condition we left it. The service was friendly and professional. A clear sign of excellent training was when I approached a server at the cocktail reception to inquire about my allium allergies, she immediately brought the banquet, maître D to discuss the options for me. It was clear that the allergy was not communicated to the establishment or within the establishment. Nonetheless, the concern was handled with care and thoughtful professionalism. The options that were still available to me or communicate communicated, and I had a wonderful meal. The grounds and garden are well designed for outdoor services. In this case, an outdoor wedding. Chairs were comfortable, and the fountain in the background created a lovely atmosphere and photo opportunity. The one critique I have is that no covering such as a gazebo or tent, was insight and thunderstorms were eminent. If I could recommend anything to the management, it would be to have this option on hand to avoid distractions from the actual ceremony. When thunder crackled in the background, we secretly hoped that the service would come to an end in time. Everyone was dressed in evening attire, so a gazebo or tent would have been appreciated. We were not inside more than 15 minutes when the skies did open up. Catastrophe averted. With the exception of one server who spilled wine on my son's newly pressed shirt, Service was meticulous. In the case of the red wine incident, this could have been averted by wrapping the wine bottle appropriately in a service linen. A little more training in this area would be recommend recommended. All in all, a solid four star event. The filet mignon, French green beans, and magnificent desserts were a five star Cleverly, our hosts prepared and end to the night with a coffee station and Donuts cleverly hanging on Hooks. The donuts were exceptional. It's difficult to rate without knowing the cost per person so I am limiting my rankings beginning with a five star and deducting minimally for a couple of challenges in service. The banquet maître D was exceptional.
