I was really surprised by how low this place was rated based on what I've heard about it! And I gotta say, they have great sandwiches! I came around lunch time and there were plenty of people sitting outside and inside. I placed my order relatively promptly and was given a pager for my order which took about 15 minutes. While it is Southampton pricing at about $20 total for my sandwich which is a bit absurd, it was delicious. Everything was super fresh and I loved the Germany (although now that I think about it, they may have forgotten my turkey). I think it's a good spot for to-go meals for the beach or otherwise. read more

We got the brie sandwich and the pesto grilled cheese. I would really recommend the Supreme Brie sandwich. Nice vibes, very busy here, and they have a lot of different healthy drinks / sodas. I enjoyed it! The foverpriced / smaller but this is a beach town and it's relatively cheaper than dining in at the nearby restaurants. read more

Completely overrated. For the prices they're charging, I'd expect much better service, a better selection, and a more organized shopping experience. Instead, it felt crowded, unimpressive, and catered more to the hype than to quality. Southampton deserves better. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend it unless major improvements are made. read more

Terrible experience. Mediocre food. I have never seen a slower place or a place where people care less about their job. They forgot to put honey mustard on my sandwich and then tried to charge me and would not give it to me when I asked for it on the side instead. read more

The kitchen manager (owner?) snapped at me when I asked for napkins in a very aggressive and condescending tone saying she had already given me them (she hadn't.) It was not remedied by my overpriced wrap - incredibly subpar. They heated it up and it wasn't supposed to be heated. Warm turkey deli meat on a hangover was very unpleasant. read more

Overpriced and poor quality. The matcha was powdery and not mixed in, and not made fresh either. Highly disappointed and I asked for light ice and they filled half my cup with ice. read more

Food is great 98% of the time IF your order is correct. The service is below average. If you order ahead be prepared to wait 45 minutes -1hr, even if you're just getting totast. If you order at the store be prepared to wait 1hr and a half at best. Some days they're on top of it but more often, they usually very slow. read more

We ordered at 11:44 and didn't get our food until 12:24. 2 sandwiches, oatmeal, latte, and smoothie. They give you a buzzer to indicate when your order is ready. Our buzzer never went off, but after 40 min of waiting, we asked an employee about our order. Our food and drinks had been ready. The coffee was cold and the smoothie was melted and separated. They remade the coffee which was nice. Once we got our order, one of the sandwiches was wrong! Ordered a lunch sandwich and got a breakfast sandwich. Order the Hampton grilled sandwich and got the Southampton breakfast sandwich. The food and drinks tasted fine but the service was horrible and the wait was too long, especially considering our food had been ready. It was not worth waiting 40 minutes and $73. read more

Cheese Shoppe - Strawberry fields smoothie, kinda melty and separated after sitting without being notified that it was ready - Cheese Shops Near Me - Southampton, New York

If you're going to charge $7 for a cappuccino, you can at least grind fresh coffee for your espresso machine. The little sachets of pre ground coffee being taken from a Tupperware was extremely disappointing to see being thrown into the portafilter. You have nice equipment, so why go to the cheapest coffee option available? Blew my mind seeing that. The coffee ended up just as you'd expect it too, tasting like it was made in a hotel room Nespresso machine with pods from 2007. You should be ashamed of the product you are putting out. Especially for $7. read more

The sandwiches are good here but the wait is crazy. We waited for two sandwiches for 20 minutes and there was no one else there. We got the turkey and the Italy. Both were really good. It's a cute little spot and good outdoor seating. read more

The idea of grabbing sandwiches and heading to a nearby beach to picnic sounded great! and cheese shoppe was along our way home. Too bad the sandwiches fell short and we didn't make it to the beach.. womp womp Like most other reviews stated, SUPER LONG WAITS! The store itself looks nice with an extensive sandwich/salad menu along with grab and go things like drinks and chips I can't remember the names of our sandwiches, but one had turkey and avo and the other was ham & cheese on a baguette. I thought they were just ok. The ham & cheese had too much mustard, it was quite overpowering. And the other was a standard sandwich, no complaints but not amazing! read more

I got the Atlantic for brunch and it was very yummy! Nothing special but tasted great!

Bought a sandwich called "Parma" with description "chicken+mozzarella+panini+spinach+roasted tomato+balsamic" and after 20 minutes of waiting I received the panini with tomato and balsamic missing. Well worth $17 when you only get half the sandwich. On top of that my girlfriend purchased a build your own sandwich with THREE ingredients turkey, lettuce, and Brie. They put ham! But it's okay, good job guys you got two ingredients right. Also $17. Lastly we bought soup, waited 10 mins for it all they had to do was scoop it out of a pot. Had to go back in and ask for it politely. The soup (cauliflower truffle) was absolutely delicious. Cheese shop is clearly low effort, low quality, high profit margin Anyone who wants a guaranteed good sandwich go to Sean's on Jobs lane : good service, high quality sandwiches, and well run. read more

After watching Bethenny on TikTok, I was determined to try the chicken salad. We needed to grab some sneakers from Gubbins anyway so before we left home I placed an online order. The text came 5 minutes earlier than my chosen time and food was delicious. All of the people complaining about the service may need to look into placing your order earlier- we had zero issues and don't want people to be deterred from coming here for a lunch time treat. read more

The absolute worst and slowest place I have ever been!!! The girl who works cashier is absolutely clueless and bagel tales 25 minutes plus to come out. Will never be wasting my time coming here again read more

I got the Italian sandwich, which was just ok - it comes with balsamic vinaigrette- which is too sweet. An Italian sandwich should come with oil and red wine vinegar. It was $18, and of course when you pay the tip screen comes up. I left $2 tip. You'd think I might get a "thank you", but no. When my sandwich was ready I went to the counter, said thank you and got a "yep" from the disinterested clerk. I won't be back. read more

As other reviewers have stated, this place has fallen way, way down in my book since the new management took over. My family used to adore the old cheese shoppe to the point where we had a house account there. The new owners tell every single customer it'll take 20-25 minutes. Then, it takes 45+. I heard multiple people complaining they were about to miss their train, their Uber was outside, etc, and their food still wasn't ready (or, it was ready and you could see it sitting there, but the owner is too disorganized to give it to them). They also don't even chop their chopped salads anymore. I'm sad because I really used to love the cheese shoppe but I won't go back. Prices are absolutely absurd but I'm willing to deal with that for quality food and decent service. Better to just go to citarella and pick up sushi. read more

No free water? Like they couldnt give me a cup of tap water. Thats crazy... america sucks

Similar lines to what everyone said, it took quite some time to make the sandwiches. The sandwiches were good though. We had the Great Northern and the USA. The sandwiches tasted healthy and fresh. I would go back again if the wait times for a sandwich improved! read more

Was here with friends off season. Line was reasonably short. Had the Milano, it was warm, tasty and well prepared. Not much option for eating inside- prepare for take away being better. Staff was efficient. Wait time was reasonable. Fifteen dollars for a sandwich but hey - this is South Hampton not Idaho. read more

This spot in SouthHampton sells more than just cheese and I am grateful. If you're strolling along Jobs lane looking for a "deli-type" breakfast and coffee, this could be the spot for your needs. I was a little grossed out customers scooped our own ice for the ice coffee came from a self-serve cooler. Two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees were $20. What did you expect? read more

Cheese Shoppe - Check the dates. Today is Aug 16, 2017 - Cheese Shops Near Me - Southampton, New York

We left due to the owner's rude attitude before even ordering. Asked if, as customers who were in the process of ordering, I could please use a space to change my baby's diaper. Instead of kindly saying something like "I'm so sorry, we don't have a public restroom", she said to her worker (who mind you, asked her for me because he felt bad for my child), "is it for the mom or the baby?" When he said baby and she saw me with her changing supplies, she nastily told me to go to the Chamber of Commerce or the park. I respect the answer, as it is your business to run how you want, but the tone was so rude. Didn't care to give my money to her. Feeling pretty validated after seeing her extremely unprofessional responses to any negative reviews on here. read more

The girl working the register is clueless; they wouldn't give me a cup of water, and even though they have Wi-Fi, they refused to share the password. Plus, the food took way too long to arrive. read more

What the hell happened here??? "Cheese" Shoppe? Really? I hadn't been there in more than ten years when I walked in yesterday. It used to have a cold case crammed with interesting, high-end fromage. Now? No cold case -- AND NO CHEESE! Other than just one or two pieces of whatever in a snack display. I asked where it all went to, and the two young people working there had no idea what I was talking about. It's basically turned into a run of the mill breakfast sandwich nook. Crud. CHANGE THE NAME!!! read more

Have tried this place in Southampton enough times to be deterred from another try. The wait for even the most simple of orders is ridiculous, even when ordering ahead. To say you need to have patience is an understatement, the service folks lack customer service oriented personalities and the food isn't anything special to warrant the wait. read more

Aside for the service being terrible, I ordered a gluten free wrap like I normally do and this time they gave me a wheat tortilla. I called to try to confirm or get a refund but the woman I spoke with insisted "they get this all the time and it is in fact gluten free, it's made of quinoa flour." Then why does it look completely different than the ones I've gotten in the past, is not falling apart per usual, and has specs of wheat in it. I have celiac disease and would've been sick for days so this was very disappointing that they don't take it seriously. read more

Amazing food and great staff. Only critique is how long the food takes. Otherwise, best spot!

They said it would take 45 minutes to complete our egg sandwich order. It took over an hour. When asked, they told us it had been less than 45 mins. What used to be a staple of Southampton has been understaffed. Food was pretty good, but not worth the wait. They used to let you browse the whole store and go directly up to the deli, but they've now closed off most of the store, making the experience far worse read more

Very good food. It's always fresh and tastes really good. It's a small shop but doesn't take away from the food.

The food is pretty good but ordering either online or in the store is an absolute nightmare. Orders are NEVER ready when they are promised. I was told by the manager that online "ready" times are meaningless. Huh? What's the point of an online ready time if that's the case? read more

Great place if you like waiting 45 minutes for a smoothie. They clearly do not have enough staff to keep up with order volume.

Despite the bad reviews I gave this place a shot. The food is so average and poor quality. The wait time is absurd and the people in the store have no sense of customer service / don't try to help you. You will just be standing around while people wander about at a snails pace. Literally who the heck owns this laughable establishment?! Get it together and up your game come on! read more

Disappointing and overpriced. Two wraps and an iced coffee for $42?? And the wraps were not good! My husband just threw half of his away and he eats EVERYTHING! We used to love this spot, but I don't know if it's the new ownership or what. Not worth it! Will go to Sean's Place next time I want an overpriced sandwich. read more

After I placed my order, I was given a buzzer and told to wait for my order. I waited right outside the door. Then someone put the closed sign on the door and locked me out. I had to knock to be let in and repeat multiple times. My sandwich was never made. I was never called. And I had to repeat multiple times all I wanted was my money back. The money I paid for my sandwich was refunded. Obviously I would like the money I paid in tip back as well. read more

I absolutely love the Village Cheese Shoppe.. The food is very good and consistent. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I especially love their chopped salads and the homemade matzo ball soup it to die for. I love that they have a variety of healthy options to choose from. read more

I loved this place. We were in Southampton in August for a beach day. Yes, the Cheese Shoppe was crowded. Other than the Golden Pear, which was also packed, it seemed the only other reasonable place to grab a quick breakfast on Main Street, which is on the way to the beach. Friendly people though. We even chatted up a runner who had just come back from doing a 5K, as we rubbed elbows trying to fill our coffee cups and get milk and sugar. That station could be organized better. However, they have a great selection of sandwiches for breakfast or lunch, and our wait was not that long. We ordered an egg, bacon and cheese sandwich and it was PERFECT. Not like the egg and cheese sandwiches you get in the city at all....a fluffy soft, fresh roll spread with a delectable sweet roasted red pepper spread, a few leaves of tender baby spinach, easy over eggs cooked just right in butter and just a slice or two of melty white cheddar. They have nice cafe table style seating near the front and we were able to get a seat by the window. Very pleasant breakfast, and since our tea and coffee were in paper cups we could take them to go and we were soon on the beach. read more

Worst wraps I've ever had in my life - absolutely waste of money. It cost us $50 for 2 wraps ... do not recommend. The service was not the nicest and I wish we never went there. read more

The owner is unfortunately a miserable, rude person. I ordered a $250 cheese platter for pick up at a specific time. It was not ready when I arrived 15 minutes after the pick up time. I was having a party and had multiple pick ups and there was no parking. I nicely asked if they could bring the platter to the back door where I was stopped while waiting over a half hour for the platter. I could hear the owner rudely telling the worker that they "don't deliver" and to tell me that. I was not asking for a delivery, just standard customer service! She then called me to yell at me at tell me they are busy and can't bring it out. I said there is no reason to be rude and all I asked was the bring the platter to the back door. She proceeded to complain that they are very busy and don't do that. For a $250 platter that they were late making I expect better service! Not ordering from them again and will certainly spread word. There are enough places with better service and comparable food to go to! read more

Horrible customer service. Asked why we needed four napkins. Because there are four of us? Won't let you use the bathroom (Only for children I was told). Went to refill my tea and the owner came running over and told me no refills. I just handed it back to her. Maybe I was on my way to pay for it. I wasn't. Quite the scene for two cents worth of ice tea. This place is weird. I can't understand why the owners want to run off their customers. They also wouldn't fill up a customers water bottle. Truly awful customer service. read more

Slow service, bad sandwich, long wait. Don't come here. During a busy time expect to wait over 40 minutes or more with no available seats.
