Bottom Line: The Shrimp impressed! We were having 6 for dinner. My brother went in and ordered 6lbs. The guy behind the counter told him he did not need that much. He was right. These Shrimp were huge. The guy also cut the backs and deveined them but left the shell on. My brother told him we were going to BBQ them so he also gave some cooking hints. After a road trip from VA we were starved but wanted something quick, fresh & light. We found this place simply driving by & it was a huge success. We were very pleased with the prices, quality of food & selection. Everything we got was made to order...so plan on waiting a little but not long. The lobster roll was divine!! Truly a HORRIBLE experience! Ordered through UberEast for dinner for 3 kids- 2 lobster rolls and a fish & chips. The order was wrong - only 1 sandwich- and the fish was bad. Then it got WORSE - tried finding the phone number - as they are listed on UberEats as LUXE SEAFOOD MARKET- when I finally found them, the person that answered the phone was rude and tried to blame the driver - THEN said, "we'll owe u a lobster roll" to which I said no I wanted a refund and he hung up the phone! I tried calling back and 5 times they just let it ring- they did answer once and when I asked for the manager they hung up. HORRIBLE - avoid at all cost! read more

BEST MAC AND CHEESE EVER! Went in for a breakfast sandwich and came out with a tray of the most amazing Mac and Cheese. May have to trek out there again just for their mac and cheese. Also got the lobster salad and the NE Clam Chowder which were both also very good but the mac and cheese was ridiculous. read more

So I ordered the locally famous Friday night lobster dinner to pick up at 6:15, only to find the fish Dept closed. I asked the manager if my lobster dinner was there, and he said no. He then called the fish man at home, and I heard him say"lobsters never came in today, I just...." forgot to call ( you must leave your phone # to order lobster dinners) What terrible service! I could have gone to the Clamman down the street for reliable service and excellent seafood . Btw, since Schmidts sold this place , it has gone terribly downhill. This is NO LONGER SCHMIDTS SEAFOOD DELI! IT'S UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP....AND IT"S AWFUL! The most recent iteration at this North Sea location is now called, "Deli Fresh" and it's a claustrophobically, over-crowded, hodge-podge of small isles, confused display cases and all with nothing appetizing in sight. Hoping to be all things to all people, it features a small and weary looking Boar's Head section, the mandatory steam table where all the food looked like the same dish. On the other side of store (similar to the original), a tiny seafood section that looks like an afterthought/holdover from the original Schmidts. All very unsavory looking, as I wouldn't DARE try the seafood. Even though it has an awful, "Queens convenience store" aura, the owners still charge top, East End, "foodie" prices- as if the discerning, summer visitors and year round locals alike would never know the difference. I give this new owner one, short season in business, as the East End already features hundreds of other fine deli's with spectacular food and great, local Hampton's character. read more

My 4 stars cover fresh seafood only. The deli, as the other reviews indicate, is a mess. But the fish has always been fresh the prices are competitive and the guys are very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend for great seafood anyday! read more

Updating my prior review to add the fifth star. This is absolutely the best fish place I have ever been to and I buy fish here at least once a week in the summer. Also, their Friday night Lobster special for two people is a really good deal. My comments are on the fish side of the store. There is also a deli side and they sell a few groceries. Those are conveniences, not the reason to go. So, I ignore them in the review. (They are good though; just not special.) Original review: I buy my fish here regularly. Their marinated swordfish barbeques great and their tuna is delicious if seared for about no more than 45 seconds per side. For the tuna ask for the sesame seed rub. Although the fish here is expensive, it is clearly worth it. read more

Yummy adorable lunches usually on a menu I had halibut fish and jambalaya with Mac and cheese and Manhattan clam chowder soup so yummy filling hot and well made. Deff worth the trip if you want something simple and not just a sandwich or Chinese food . Little small inside . Maybe a line ? Other side is actually seafood raw fish for sale. The other spanish woman who looks like she hasnt slept in 10 years is flat out rude every time im there. I came here almost every day for an egg sandwich before work but im done dealing with her. Fabulous fresh seafood! In the summer, I live on their Wild King Salmon, at $29.99 a lb, a lot fresher and cheaper than elsewhere. Their lobster salad and crab cakes -- at market prices -- are as good as it gets. Ditto for chicken salad, vegetable burgers, etc. Every store in the Hamptons gets overwhelmed in the summer. Takeout fried flounder platter received: 1 piece of dark brown, dry, overcooked, fishy-tasing flounder (not nice at all) and a mountain of fries with a few catsup packets. Not a scrap of lettuce or anything green, no choice whether I preferred slaw or fries, no tartar sauce, no fresh lemon. Second star is because the fries were good. This is just like a lot of other delis in the area meaning it is over priced and of poor quality. But the service is what gives this 1 star. I would give it no star if I could. They asked me 3 times what I wanted (the Classic Italian hero) with no tomato with oil and mayo instead of the store bought bottle of Italian dressing that they put on it. I sincerely said 3 times not to do this because they didn't understand my order. Then they were out of provolone so they just put yellow cheese on it. When they tried to ring me up the wanted to charge me $10.99 for the hero because it was on a hero!!! She tried explaining to me that the price is an extra dollar because it's a hero while I'm trying to explain to her that the price they have on the board is already for a hero! Unbelievable!!! 14 minutes later I walk out with a $10 hero that skimped on the meat and didn't even make close to the sandwich I asked for.
