Our order took a while, but they were busy, so it was understandable. Food: - Breakfast Burrito with Avocado: The salsa and jalapeños added great flavor, but the salsa made the burrito very soggy. If you're getting it to-go, ask for the salsa on the side! TL;DR: Fine deli with good flavors. If ordering the Breakfast Burrito, get the salsa on the side!

The place has an unpleasant smell, everything is cruddy and it's only getting worse over the years. I know it's difficult to find help, but the folks working there seem unfriendly & don't really know what they're doing. The quality of food has declined, dried out rolls, poor quality mayonnaise. I don't think they are using Boar's Head or other quality cold cuts brands. They roast beef was well done, dry & gristly. The owner seems to be a nice guy. I hope he can improve the store. I asked the woman who took my order if I could switch; she hesitated, likely because my bagel was already toasted, but then quickly agreed and handled it. It felt a bit awkward for a moment, but customer-service-wise it was the right move. This is a legendary bagel shop and worth a stop if you're nearby. The bacon, egg, and cheese I ordered was a bit dry--being toasted without a smear made it come off a little crusty. Next time I'd definitely get a smear, or maybe not have it toasted at all. The highlight, surprisingly, was the heavy-duty sweatshirt I bought as a souvenir--honestly felt even heavier than Carhartt. Tip: Go for the flat bagel version and don't skip the smear.
