I am providing this review as a person who travels a LOT (and I mean a LOT - almost every week living in hotel rooms and eating out at least 200 days a year). I have been coming to the Welland area for the last 2-3 years; this is the first time I have tried Cheers; and have to say - this place is AWESOME. GREAT food; GREAT atmosphere; and GREAT service. 1) I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and I was not disappointed. Having grew-up in that part of the world, it was truly authentic Greek with the rich favours of Greece. The portion was LARGE; very filling for a big eater like myself and was truly tasty till the last bite. It came with 3 skewers of chicken, plus roasted potatoes, a Greek salad, and Greek bread. 2) I sat in the front part of the restaurant (which is set-up like a bar area); it was very cozy and personal, and the music was right up my alley. Add to that the lady who was the server was very personable and pleasant all the way (very easy to talk to). A few minutes later the owner and his wife came and joined in and I had a very pleasant and personable conversation with all three of them; I felt like I was "welcomed at the home of a family" to the point that almost 2 hours passed by just like a breeze. 3) Add to all of the above, the price was VERY reasonable considering the large food portion. Having discovered this place after all these times I've been to Welland, I am DEFINITELY going to go back again and very soon. Cheers to Cheers. And as they say in Greece... Rude Wait staff, fish had too much batter, fries permeated with cooking oil and had ketchup from another diner in the fries that was re-purposed. Told another walk-in to leave when the old man did nothing to deserve it. All the old man did when he first came in was put his hands over his ears because it was too loud, I agreed. My chums and I couldn't hold a conversation. What did the so-called singer do? Crank his amplifiers up to 11? We had to resort to writing notes because we couldn't hear each other. Guess that falls under rudeness, then before he left, knocked two drinks at the rude waitress. I don't blame him. Had a laugh, and I will not testify on the restaurant's behalf. read more

Great fish and chips place that's been in Welland for years! It was my first time there with my family and I ordered the haddock with salad instead of the fries ($8.95). A pitcher of Richards was only $12.39!!! There's also daily specials like all-you-can-eat fish and chips on Wednesdays ($10.99) or a pound of wings on Thursdays for $5.99. my sister took me to cheers for dinner about a couple weeks ago or so. I absolutely loved the food, since then I've ordered out twice now. I think I'm going to become a regular. so far I've only had the wings, deep fried pickles and poutine. I'm not really a fish person. but I absolutely love the food. the waitresses are incredibly kind and sweet. It's a little costly for me because I'm someone on a tight budget, but it's honestly worth the money. totally recommend stopping by, even if it's just for a drink and a small meal. read more

This place was amazing!! We came to Welland to stay at a local BnB and I was craving nachos and chicken fingers. I found Cheers on google and saw a picture of their Nachos and I knew we needed to go. We were not disappointed. We had the Large Nachos to start and I had chicken fingers and my fiancé had a giant burger with the best onion rings I've tasted in probably 20 years. We took half our meals home even though we wanted to keep eating it was so Good. Honestly do not overlook this place. I would also like to ad our waitress was very nice and attentive and I felt that she enjoys her job. The prices were also really great. read more

Took forever to get our food. I think they where to busy with Skip the Dishes customers. Daughter ordered steak poutine It was so salty she could not eat much of it, and I ordered a hot hamburger sandwich, and it was too salty also. 3 entres, 2 pop, coffee, and 3 cheese cake to go 75.00 I will not return and will not recommend. Went there a few weeks ago. Place was almost empty. As we arrived, a family behind us was finishing their dinner and I overheard the woman mentioning to the waitress that her daughter couldn't finish her fries. I ordered poutine and ate 70% of it when I realized there were several fries that had bits of ketchup on them. No one at my table used ketchup. The only explanation I can come up with is that they re-plated someone else's fries for my poutine. I think about this almost every day. read more

Family was in the mood for some wings tonight so we checked out skip the dishes and found Cheers !! So happy we did, ordered 5lbs medium wings , they arrived still hot and omg so good , I must say I won't go anywhere else for wings again , Cheers has by far the best wings in Welland!
