A group of 17 from my work arrived around 11:30A.M. on a Monday. We were seated on three different booths which is fine with us. The service was extremely slow. They had missed some of our orders. We had to wait for 20 minutes after we gave the waitress our individual credit card. This lunch took about 2 hours. They add the gratitude on the check even though we do not like the service. The food was OK and nothing to brag about and I got real sick afterwards. Cheddars' food was all I ate that day. I do love their croissant and too bad they only give you one. read more

This was mine and my families first trip to Cheddars and they went above and beyond. The service by Edgar C was impeccable. He is for sure the epitome of customer service. ever since we moved to san Antonio I have been on the hunt for a GOOD steak. haven't found it yet. the Good: DH said his margarita was not bad. the broccoli cheese casserole side was very tasty, as were the onion straws. The bad: the steak supposedly had a bourbon glaze ( at extra cost). far as I could tell, no. also I asked for medium rare and got rare so half of it was too raw( and gristly) to actually chew. The waiter was either overwhelmed, new or just plain incompetent. never came back, otherwise I would have sent my steak back to be properly cooked. he had NO clue as to what the House red wine was(c'mon that should be something he can rattle off asleep) although he did crack a semi funny joke about dessert( he offered to eat it for us when we declined) The ugly: the ladies room was FILTHY..all the stalls had TP strewn everywhere and all of the toilets were full of TP. It was also annoying to have to push my way through a gaggle of at least 6 employees who just congregated at the doorway to the rest rooms. I wil be back maybe once to give them a second chance to redeem themselves. read more

We haven't been to a cheddars since they "redid" them. We were sat within 5 minutes and was greeted right away. Our server was great and helpful. We both orders off the lunch menu. I got the buffalo wrap and a baked potato and my wife got a burger and fries. My wrap was pretty good and full of flavor but the potato was cooked all the way. My wife's burger wasn't too bad but the taste was kinda plain to be honest. I have had better burgers there before. The fries were good since my potato was bad I ate them. The best thing about the meal was we also ordered croissants and those are worth the trip alone. Service good, food bland. Enjoy! read more

Um we were seated quickly. The waitress was meh. She let our drinks get empty and passed by alot without refilling. She only had 1 table. The food was meh as well. The only thing worth while was the sweet tea. Would I go back or recommend this place probably not. Which is a let down. read more

Super long wait and even after a long wait they messed up in sitting arrangements. The hostesses are not to organized or they just didnt care. I would have given a 1 star review however the servers made up for it after as well as the discount on our food. So i gave the 3 star review. Not sure ill come again though. read more

Haven't been here in a few years, still as busy as usual and still taste good! Out waitress was kind of not there as we had to tell her twice about multiple things she would forget. My first visit and I love it despite the glitch we encountered. I was with my adult son and two toddlers, 3- and 4-year old. It was Friday night and the restaurant was packed with patrons. We took, or rather, I took the unusual stanch of waiting for a seat. After all, we traveled about 25 miles to get there. We waited approximately 20-25 minutes, outdoors, on a balmy night. After being seated our waitress was with us immediately. She was cordial, patient, and appeared to value us as customers. My son had shortly arrived home from a 5-hour drive on a 97 degree day. I mention this only to get the reader to understand the layers of the event. It was late and we, especially the children, were hungry! And man, did we wait! Luckily, we (family) were all in pleasant moods because our wait was very near an hour. We stayed occupied by talking about my son's business trip and entertaining the kids by actually listening to their gibberish, lol. However, my son was becoming noticeably perturbed as he noticed all the patrons around us eating and receiving their food shortly after ordering. I don't know what happened. Our waitress was surprised our food had not been delivered. She activated the attention of the floor manager. He was very attentive and sincere in getting things corrected. Our food arrived hot and delicious in less than 10 minutes! All servings were fresh, expertly prepared, and generously portioned. It was seasoned so well. Additionally, we were compensated for all four meals, less the drinks. Awesome!! Now, in spite of the unusual hiccup, I look forward to our next trip here. The food and service for such a high traffic restaurant is fantastic!! We were treated like valued guests!! I'm very pleased with pretty much everything from this place. Great food, good service, and never leave here upset. The only thing in which why I didn't give it five stars, is the wait is sometimes incredibly long. Longest wait was 45 mins for a party of two. But it's not every time, sometimes we're seated in15 mins, not a big deal. Also, because it's a sit down restaurant and fairly close together with the tables, I definitely recommend for people not to bring their kids, as they're usually loud and very annoying. read more

I give up ! I've tried to be understanding but enough is enough. We used to come here every month but now it's usually once a year and after last night never again. Last year we went for a birthday dinner and the hostess was horrible, and guess what she is still there. We went last night a lot later to avoid the horrific wait time(9:30pm) and it was a 40 minute wait. No worries but as I looked around I saw so many empty tables, yet we we're all told to wait 40 minutes. So out of nowhere another employee shows up and starts seating a lot of the people . So after a 30 minute wait we get seated, and we can't help but notice all the empty tables. All the chairs at our were not even so we asked for the empty booth and the waiter looked agitated. So then we finally have a new waiter/waitress and after 15 minutes we got our drinks . Then we ordered our appetizer,meals ,and asked the waiter if we could get the dinner after the appetizer but as I figured they messed up and we got them 1 minute apart. The food was cold and tasted old . Just all around not good food anymore so finally we get our bill and they charged us for items we never received.... Then as we walked out we noticed people still being told to wait for a table when 3/4 of the restaurant was empty.......so as I stated at the beginning never again.... My chips and dip were extravagant. I enjoyed every bite of my homemade chicken pot pie. The service was good and I my thirst was quenched. If you are in the mood for a not too long sit down restaurant, Cheddars is the way to go. I rated it 4/5 stars because the chicken pot pie said it was homemade, but it was obviously not because no one lives in Cheddars. read more

I love Cheddars! They have great food and the prices are great. It has always been a place I like to go to. However, I'm only giving 2 stars because of the greeter. We went there last Saturday (8/5/17) at around 5:00 with a party of 13. There were two greeters and they NEVER smiled or never welcomed anyone coming in. When I got there, they told my other friends that they would have to seat in a table for 10 and then a booth. I get it. Rules are rules. But, since 2 were little children, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask if we could squeeze in one table since we were celebrating birthdays. She interrupted me and then simply told me no and looked at me very sternly. I admit that I didn't seem to hide my discontent. As we waited for a table, I noticed that neither of them NEVER smiled at one customer. This was such a disappointment. Then, the host that sat us down also gave us attitude and he ignored me when I asked him to move the high chair and kiddie chair that was in the way of the table where we seated. I repeated it and he did move the high chair next to me only. I didn't both to ask why the floor was so dirty and the table had not been wiped. To top it off, the person who came to give the utensils literally threw them on the table as we were sitting down. The seating worked out and Eric was our waiter. Eric was fabulous. My hats off to him!!! We had a good time thank goodness. However, the behavior of the greeters was extremely disappointing. I already sent a comment to cheddars.com with much more detail. Too bad! Had dinner there last night and was truly disappointed . Pepper shaker was very dirty, knife was filthy and when I asked for a to-go box and opened it found it also dirty . Cheddar's used to be our favorite place to eat and take out of town guests to. But honestly we haven't been back since its ownership was taken over by the parent company of Olive Garden, since we find Olive Garden overpriced and only ok, so we were afraid the same would be true of Cheddar's. We decided today for a late lunch to give it a try. We ordered the Spinach dip for appetizer and I got the Spasagna and my wife got the grilled white fish. The Spinach dip and the Spasagna were very similar to the taste and quality of before, however the white fish was super disappointing. The fish was saturated with oil, the rice was literally just white rice with no seasoning at all. The worst offense was the country green beans. First they weren't country green beans at all, which are usually a regular string beans cooked with bacon. What they served my wife is Italian green beans that clearly came from a can. They weren't cooked with any bacon and definitely not what you would expect from a "scratch" restaurant. The food might have received a better star rating if it wasn't for our waitress, Renee. Unattentive would be an overstatement. She was almost non-existent. We waited quite a while for our appetizer and then when she finally brought us out our appetizer, less then 5 minutes later she brought out our food so we didn't even have time to enjoy the appetizer. She had brought us out our sodas when she took our orders and like I said we had a long wait for our appetizer without her even checking on us or our drinks. She brought me one replacement when she brought our meal, but that was it. We were finished eating a good 15 minutes before she came up to ask us if we wanted boxes or our check and then disappeared for entirely too long to process our payment. She wasn't rude or anything. She just wasn't as attentive as you would want a waitress, especially on a slow afternoon with only about 5 tables even having guests at them. read more

This restaurant was the most disgusting that I had ever been. I will not be going back. First of all the server looked very sloppy. I ordered a philly cheese sandwich with a house salad. Where do I begin. The salad was good, the croissant they brought out with it was gross, it was still doughy probably still uncooked and soaked in butter. When my sandwich arrived it was covered in cheese so you couldn't see what you were eating, probably for good reason (Pun intended) I found the meat to be soaking in grease. Their was portion of the meat that was not cooked. it was still raw and straight up pink. So to top it all off I had a hug cockroach crawl out from under the table along the wall to the table top side. I almost lost my lunch. This was not worth the $11.00 I paid. I give it 4 because if you go at the wrong time the wait is forever! But its worth it because the food is really good and the prices are even better! Portions are a good size! My husband and I first ate there in march and it is excellent every time we've gone after. We always spend around 50 with tip includes drinks which by the way are delicious! Service not bad, very little wait time, the FOOD is the reason we're never coming back. My girlfriend and I aren't professional chefs but we both got steak and one was burned while the other was clearly raw, baked potato want even hot enough to melt the cheese and butter on top, shrimp was as cold. After speaking with the manager, she took my steak back to "cook it longer" which I didn't realize I should have been concerned about until afterwards. I've never been to a place where your food is taken and then given back to you. The only things that weren't that bad we're the sides and the kid's chicken strips. The manager didn't seem genuine and reacted as if she deals with these kinds on mistakes all the time. Overall not a good experience. read more

Went to Cheddar's for Mother's Day. We got there at 10:45, they opened at 10:30. We were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait for our party of 5. The place was not crowded, so my thought was they hadn't really prepared for people arriving early on Mother's Day and probably we're short handed. We were seated after about 15 minutes. One thing I did notice was that most of the floors I came in contact with were wet! Including the bathroom. Anyway, on to dining. We ordered our food from Kevin our waiter, who was very nice but soft spoken. We received silver ware when we were seated...my son opened his first and ask Kevin for a new set. The rest of our party opened ours and all sets were dirty. Food particles still on the silverware. We asked Kevin for new sets. Nine sets of silverware and they were all gross. Kevin went to the kitchen and got us additional sets. The food was good but I kept thinking about the gross silverware and how any employee (not Kevin) could roll silverware and not notice spinach, mystery food particles on silverware they were preparing for someone to eat off of. Made me wonder about the glass I was drinking out of and the plate I was eating off of. I spoke to the manager before I left and he tried to tell me it was calcium from the water first, then how the silverware didn't get run through the washer twice, etc. I doubt I'll ever go back to this location again...I hope no one gets ill. read more

I've gone to Cheddars twice for lunch. We've never had a problem getting a table even when it seems full. And the food is good. I gave it 4 stars because I've ordered the same thing both times so I haven't tried anything different lol. But the potato soup is very good, and the service is great. This Cheddar's is a joke. My daughter in law and I have lunch ( 2 ) a month. Undecided where we was going I made a suggestion on Cheddar's on 410 near 151. FIRST time there for the both of us. Had heard great things about Cheddar's. We were seated right away. Order coffee. So far so good. My daughter in law order chicken fried steak with the gravy on the side. I myself order a combo 1/2 rack of ribs with steak with my steak being well done. Well the chicken fried steak came with the gravy on it. Sent that order back. Now we have to wait an additional 6-7 minutes for their mistake. Now while the second chicken fried steak is being cooked, I'm enjoying my ribs. Decided to start on my steak and it was not what I ordered. Complained to the management and all we got was negative feedback. Will never visit again. read more
