Went there on a Sunday for a celebration dinner. There were 4 of us. We first were told that it would be a 20 minute wait, after 25 minutes I asked where we were on the list the hostess stated that it would be another 15-20 minutes. We waited and after another 25 minutes (for a total of 50 minutes) I asked again and was told by the hostess that they didn't know when we would be seated and she stated that the kitchen told them not to seat anyone. The manager was at the host stand and I asked him what the delay was and he very rudely stated that the kitchen was backed up and it would be at least another 45 minutes. meanwhile the hostess kept taking names and telling everyone that came in that it would be only a 15-20 minute wait. Apparently that is what they are told to tell customers, even if that is not accurate. Manager needs to at least seem to care about his customers. read more

Been here twice so I'm going to kinda combine my reviews. First time was fantastic. Second time not quite as good so an average of three stars. First time the food, especially the steak, was great. Perfectly done medium rare. Great sides. Attentive server. The potato soup is pretty good but they didn't give crackers or anything to go with it. I like to thicken my shout up with crackers or dip a roll. (And this place has crackers because my calorie counting app lists the crackers they have of all things. Lol) My friend, luckily, had the wonderful honey buttered croissant with her salad that she can't eat so I had that heavenly item to dip at least. This second time the medium rare steak portion of my ribs/steak combo was not done properly. It was rare to the point that the meat was rare muscle and chewy. I started chewing and was all what the heck?! I can't chew this well enough to swallow. Our server "checked" on " how [our] food was" BEFORE I could even cut into the steak and take a bite. Pointless really. So he was nowhere to be found when I took that first chewy bite and my friend flagged down another server (whom, I think, was our terrific guy from last time) just to get ours to send the steak back. He was a sweetheart and just took it even though he was loaded down with dishes. Our server came by to say someone (a manager?) would bring it out and talk to us about it. Someone brought it out but he didn't bother talking to us. I don't even think he apologized. Then the steak was on probably the same small dish we'd had lemons on that we cleared off to put it on and give to the other server. My friend noticed right away that it was dirty/smeared. Hence, I think they used the same dish. And I'm sorry but when you just throw a steak back on for a few minutes, it usually doesn't turn out any better than it originally came out. The restaurant should just eat the cost and do a whole new piece of meat. (You could tell it was the same piece by the shape.) And this didn't. It seemed medium rare on a thicker end but the rest was medium to medium well and dried out. Very disappointing. Also, my friend's salad bowl was dirty underneath. She was a bit grossed out. Hoped the server's hands just got a little fresh something on it and not that they were not cleaning the dishes well. Or just rinsing them. The ribs were okay but kind of dried out. I needed extra sauce to make them more palatable. And the sauce was nothing special. As to our server, he was pleasant enough but not attentive or around much. I had to ask for my water to be refilled. That's not something I should need to do. Especially when my friend got multiple soda refills. He should have noticed mine was low and automatically refilled it then. Not to be picky but a server being on top of refills without me telling them I need a refill is one of my criteria for giving 5 stars. So I don't know if I'll be back. I'd looked forward to going again due to the great first time experience but if they have chefs on the steaks that don't know medium rare from rare now, I'll probably hafta pass on a next time. Cheddar's gets 3 stars. The food is okay some if it is good such as the Monte Christo; however, the macaroni and cheese was a very small portion and quiet bland. Usually when you head into a "chain restaurant" i.e. Chili's, Applebee's etc... you have a expectation of what you should be getting. They surpass that here. Literally slower than slow. I've seen cars, in neutral, roll up hill faster than this service. To begin with, they forgot to call us for our order. And the only one doing anything with any amount of urgency is the guy running out food. Shout out to him. Our food was cold and subpar at best, while my sister ordered cheese fries which were cold and burnt. You'd think if they're burnt they'd at least be warm. The server was nice in a stop talking to me kind of way, which isn't hard cause she visited our table a total of 3 times during our 1.5 hours there. She did seem stressed, but I don't think we were rude at all and pretty accepting with our tolerance. Speaking of, we spend 1.5 hours there when it should have been 45 minutes MAX. We went for the first time (and last time) for dinner. Wine was ordered but only after reminding wait staff several times did we receive it. I ordered salmon. The salmon was well undercooked and was supposed to be blackened thou not that you could tell. The salmon was sent back and the manager apologized but then the salmon came once again more uncooked then the last time. The weird part was that the manager told me that they have a mechanized process for preparing the fish...sratch, scratch, scratch.. I would add that the mashed potato arrived cold and green beans were...lets just say we didn't touch them.. I'm only giving this location one star because zero stars isn't an option. I came here tonight with my sister and my parents and it was horrible experience. I normally don't complain because I work in the restaurant business myself, but this experience was a disaster. We ordered our drinks, appetizer and entrees all at the same time. Our entrees literally came out 5 minutes after we ordered and 2 of the 4 dishes were cold. Our server had no idea where our appetizer was and we were also missing half of our sides. Meanwhile we were still waiting for our bar drinks. 2 of the dishes got taken back to the kitchen to be remade and so we didn't even get to eat together. When the 2 dishes came back out they were still cold. Honestly please don't come to this location unless you're looking to be disappointed and potentially get sick. There were only a few dishes on the menu that appealed to me, but what I got was good. For an appetizer we had the honey butter croissants, which were appropriately fluffy. I had mashed potatoes with gravy (they keep the skins on the mashed potatoes), grilled shrimp on top rice (the sauce was somewhat sweetish), broccoli, and their 6 oz sirloin steak accompanied by onion rings (while I didn't care for their onion rings, the steak was worth it). My husband had the chicken alfredo dish, and no complaints from him. The atmosphere was interesting, and prices were reasonable. My first time going over to this restaurants was August 20,2018. The food was absolutely great, I'm such a Big Mac and cheese fanatic and it was great. The strawberry margarita was not as great. My boyfriend ordered some chicken with pasta and it was good and so was the grilled salmon I had presented. Being our first time we didn't know what to expect food wise. We ordered the Santa Fe spinach dip, but what we ended up getting was the cheese dip. Now I don't mean to complain, much so we didn't even bother telling her she got our order wrong. The cheese dip comes with ground meet and some salsa. Being Hispanic I love salsa, the salsa we got was more tomatoes and water rather than heat. This review is for a visit on 7 December 2019, while the food was excellent as always(hence 3stars), service was extremely poor. We were sat fairly quickly but that was the end of quick service. Our server didn't appear for about 10 minutes. We placed our drink order and dinner order at the same time. Another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Food was delivered by another server and there were issues with the orders. We all asked for ranch for our chicken tenders but only one ranch came out. I had asked for coleslaw but got green beans. The chicken tenders smelled like they had been cooked in very old oil. We noticed that another couple seated in our server's area was also experiencing similar issues. Drinks were late and one of them had ordered a salad along with an entree. Entrees were served before the salad arrived. The food was wonderful, only made better by the prices and the service! We were greeted and seated immediately. September was our server and she didn't miss a step. She saw to our every need. Very pleasant disposition. When she learned that it was our first visit, she sent a manager over to check on us. Very genuine woman, I didn't get her name. If you are into heavy, southern food you would like eating here. This location has a friendly, slightly upscale vibe to it. The stone and dark woods make it seem a little dark with the dim lighting but it creates a clam ambiance. No need to dress up, you can come casual or a little dolled up for a date night or after work drinks at the bar. The restaurants music is always nice background noise and I have never had an bad waiter or waitress. The menu is pretty full, and the prices are average for the food portion sizes but if you are not use to heavy food, or larger portions you may be asking for a doggie bag to enjoy your left overs latter. The check is always easy to read, and the parking lot has plenty of spaces. There can be a small wait for a table if you come during dinner time or lunch on the weekends. read more

The food has been good and the service ok until yesterday. We were told it would be 20 min. only to wait more than 35. We sat at the bar where the pager never went off nor did anybody check to see if we were there. At the bar I asked for a draft beer and got a bottle. Finally the bar tender checked and said that there was seating. Going back to the front we still waited only to be escorted back to the bar area. If I wanted to sit there we could have because there were tables empty while we waited. Then we sat for 5 min only to see others seated and waited on immediately. I finally had enough to complain only to have the waitress roll her eyes when the other patrons told her it was ok to wait on us. My date said that was ok and we would wait for someone else. Waited again then when another person arrived. We asked to see the manager where she left only to come back to say the manager was busy. If the management doesn't think I am important enough to speak with then they do not want my business. We were very polite and did not raise our voices, the only thing I can think is that race might be a factor. That was enough so we left. So I brought the wife here as a surprise a week or so ago, and to give it a second chance from a couple of years ago. Surprisingly we were seated quickly. Our server was kind, but the menu seemed really lacking of anything that jumped out as wanting to eat it. I went with the chicken and she went with the country fried steak. My meal was stone ass cold even the toast was only cooked on one side. My wives meal was warm but the gravy tasted like something out of a #10 can that had been heated in a microwave. My fiancé almost swallowed a piece of cellophane that was attached to her Monte Christo sandwich. We alerted the waitress, who intern, notified the manager of the incident. The manager acted like this incident had happened before, because she saw the piece of cellophane, and said, "oh the cellophane. We use that to wrap the Monte Christo sandwiches the day before...when we prepare them for the following day. The cook must have overlooked that piece. Great, obviously since you had that problem before you're doing nothing to correct it. We then got a somewhat sincere apology, and a $10 gift certificate to come back again. That won't pay for a meal! My fiancé did not get to eat but was offered a take home sandwich. She said, no and wanted to know if she could get the district manager's address and phone number. She was told by the manager that they had to have permission first before they could "give out" the district manager's phone number. When she said she would look it up on the internet, he got vet defensive, and said, "why bother calling him, he's going to have me contact you again anyway." We were upset and left. Oh, they did take the meal off the bill. Since Cheddars was bought out by another company, it has slowly gone down hill. The staff is slow and less courteous, and management is atrocious. In town on business and arrived on a Monday around 7:00 pm. The place was packed, but I was sat right away and acknowledged by my server, Nick, within a couple of minutes. Nick had a great attitude and was enthusiastic when I asked him for recommendations. Ge asked if I was looking for healthy or not-so-healthy. I appreciated this because I was planning on just getting a cheese burger. He recommended the Baja Chicken off their light menu, which I ordered. He came back right away with apologies since they had just ran out of black beans, so he recommended the Sweet Heat Chicken and Shrimp instead (but only if I could handle some heat), which I ordered. The food came in about 10 minutes. It was plated nicely and steaming hot. The descriptions from the menu and from Nick were accurate and the food was delicious. I was really happy to see the light menu because it is easy to over-eat when you are on the road. Cheddar's does not have WiFi, which meant that I had to read the book I brought and take a break from being on line. Depending on how you want to spend you time, this is either a welcomed break or a frustration. I was happy about it. Nick was on top of everything, He checked back often and was really friendly. The bill came on time and it was really cheap - $12.43. The dining room was generally clean, but the men's room needed some attention. I really like this place! They serve a variety of different foods so everyone can find something they like. Prices are also very reasonable. We had a party of 3 and came around 6pm on a Saturday. We only had to wait around 10 minutes. Our server was very nice and made sure to check up on us. The food came quickly. I ordered the barbeque chicken and it came with a lot of food.
