Had a group birthday dinner here with 14 - 15 family members on 12/20/14 4pm....We selected a wide variety of items all of the food was very good, hot and fresh.....The waitress was friendly, attentive and efficient she kept our drinks filled and quickly responded to any requests that we had..... The cost was reasonable...Based on this experience I would go back and would recommend Cheddar's to others. read more

We picked Cheddar's because my 95 year old aunt with a walker need someplace she could get into easily and had a variety of food choices. Sierra was our server and she was so accomodating. We were here a couple nights before (first time at Cheddar's as we are not from the area) and enjoyed our meal and service. This time, Sierra helped my aunt get into the restaurant and then was quick with suggestions and helping us get what we needed. The food was excellent and different from many of the cookie cutter restaurants. It was fresh and tasted more like the dishes I enjoyed as a child. It's new and they are trying. One manager was in a booth on his cell while a waitress was crying due to the stress of NO help or guidnance. Friend had to show a "busboy" how to clear a table in a timely manner. Manager watched and later asked, "Is there a problem?" Food was fairly good. Me and my friends are usual costumers of chedders so coming here tonight we weren't expecting such poor service. We arrived at around 750-8:00 pm. It wasn't busy at all. Actually it was a quiet night. We got seated right away by the friendly hostess and that's when the problems commenced. We waited almost ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge us and it wasn't even our server. It was a guy who said he would take our drink orders for the actual server, Alicia H. The orders were two waters and a sweet tea. About ten minutes later Alicia comes to the table with 3 waters and then quickly walks off saying "I'll be right back" maybe 7 minutes later, after she checked on her other two tables twice, she comes back and says "so does everyone know what they want?" . She was very rude, in my opinion, and seemed to care about the tables around her, not including us. We watched her check on on the tables around us and barely came to check on us at all. We are done with this place! Ok... I just came in town from a very long 24 hours and a flight and wanted to enjoy some good food with my family. Why did I think this visit would produce different results... This is the last time we come here. It took almost 30 minutes to get our sodas and tea. Then took another hour to get our food. Really!? Cheddar's or Cheddar's "Causal" Cafe would get 5 stars for just food alone, but I already feel as if I'm being too generous with 4 stars because of the terrible service we had recently. My family arrived on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 10:30 am. We were the only customers in the restaurant, and yet they wanted us to wait for 10 minutes for a table...We were so baffled as to why, because the entire restaurant was still empty at the time. The one design flaw on their part was that there was not a designated area for waiting customers. We arrived on a very rainy Saturday, and a lot of the customers either waited on the crowded foyer, or just flat out left. We decided not to judge the restaurant by the pointless wait. When we got to our table, we were greeted by a not-so-friendly waitress, who just casually took our drink orders. I will admit though, that the food was very high quality, and took me by surprise because of the very low prices and large portions. i've been to the restaurant 5 times, and each time has either been the same or worse. The first 4 time I went, it took about 30 minutes to get a drink and I sat at the bar. I ordered my food at the same time time and received my meal missing the one component of the dish. one of the bartenders seemed sheepish about conversating with the customers, and when the time had surpassed the 40 minute mark, I asked to have the meal taken off my bill so I could go to the Ale House, I was told, "it shouldn't take much longer." I ordered fish and rice with a salad-- poor customer service.The 5th and final time I went was on 28 May and sat at the high-tables in the bar area. I ordered a drink from the bar, watched the bartender make the drink, and the manager take it to some one else. This was done because somebody "killed" the ticket before the bartender finished making the drink. I watched the managers and a few servers search the "killed" tickets to find missing/mis-made orders for about 10 minutes. on a positive note, the bartender, Shawn, is on his game--great bartender, and the managers seems to care about correcting the mistakes as they happen. Came in with a party of 8 and expected a wait. Hostess came asked if she could sit us at 2 tables because she didn't have a big table. Sat at 2 separate booths separated by another booth. I kid u not 4 tables of 4 opened up directly across from us within 5 mins of sitting down. Unroll silverware and fork had dried food on it. I ordered no sour cream on nachos and about the 3rd chip in lift the nacho and there was sour cream under the chip like as if they were hiding there mistake. No stars..... Just got back from lunch after eating at this so called restaurant. First of all, we had a very nice waiter, Robert, who came after we had been sitting for about 10-15 minutes to take our order. At that time, we ordered our food and drinks at the same time because we were on our lunch hour, which we told him. He put our food in, and about 20 minutes later, the food came out, but was brought by kitchen staff and not our waiter Robert. I ordered the Smokehouse Burger and a baked potato, fully loaded. My baked potato was a child's portion, with only butter and grated cheese on it. My co-worker order a chicken quesadilla and black beans. (black beans were horrible and tasted like they were straight out of the can) The potato was cold, and was not appetizing at all. Robert was no where to be found. After a while, he came out and passed us by, went to a neighboring table and began conversing with the 2 young men who looked as though they were his friends. STILL didn't come over to ask how the food was. I finally had to motion to the young man he was talking to to tell him I needed him. He came over, only addressed me, and took the potato back and brought me back my requested fries. STILL DIDN'T ASK THE REST OF THE TABLE HOW THEIR MEALS WERE. After we finished eating, STILL, no Robert. We looked for him for about 30 minutes, until we finally had to call him over to bring our checks! He came back 15 minutes later with our checks, gave them to us, then took another 10 minutes to bring back our credit/debit cards. Now anyone who can add knows that there is only 60 minutes in an hour, and we are long past our lunch hours with travel time. The food was horrible, and the service even worse. Never not one time did the Manager even come by to ask how we were....We never even got refills on our drinks! Lesson: don't go to this establishment to eat....food not worth the price. We have been there several times, and had several things and they all have been terrible. My granddaughter can probably cook better food in an easy bake oven. read more

Beware of their Cheeseburger!! This is our second time eating here, and it may be our last! We waited almost 45 minutes for our food. I had a steak (which was okay), and my son had a bacon cheeseburger. He didn't like the taste of his burger, so I took a bite. It was good until I bit on something hard. I spit into my napkin, and noticed it was a broken dishware!!! The manager asked me if I wanted to replace the burger, but my son was hungry. 1st time at Cheddar's. Heard a lot of the hype around the chicken tenders so of course I ordered some. Definitely weren't as good as I thought they would be. No seasoning whatsoever. My boyfriend and I ate here tonight, close to 9pm was when we arrived. We have never eaten before, thought we'd give it a try. We were sat by the hostess who was very friendly, and then greeted (but not promptly) by our waitress. I believe her name was something like Sherah, her note card telling us random facts about her which was placed on the table (love this idea) said that her favorite menu item was the chicken pot pie, and that she didn't like pink or oatmeal. We ordered waters with lemon, never got the lemon and never really got a chance to ask. We ordered the key lime chicken and shrimp and sirloin and shrimp dishes. Austin ordered his with coleslaw and a baked potato, I asked for broccoli and a baked potato. She wrote all of this down. Meanwhile, maybe a table or two came in after us but in a timely manner. It was obviously her turn on the next rotation, as the hostess came and notified her she had a table, the waitress very rudely exclaimed that she was too swamped and had too much going on. The waitress in me had to observe the section and status of her tables. I noticed she had maybe 6 tables, the first three had already ordered prior to us sitting, then us, then the last two tables. Working myself at a high volume downtown restaurant I was confused because I thought this place was normally pretty crowded. She was kind of rude to the hostess whom is just doing her job... Another server took the table. Then a few more tables get sat and IN FRONT of the table she expresses how she will not be taking them. I was pretty appalled by that... And then when the hostess had to explain to the other server they congregated in front of this table trying to figure out who'd be taking them (after the hostess offered to grab them drinks!) ... I've never written a yelp review but had to this time. Who does this? And to where multiple tables may hear you? And then topping it off, the sides on my order were wrong despite her pen and notepad she used during placing the order. Three stars because the food was delicious! read more

Food was good but restaurant needs to focus on cleanliness. All of our menus were dirty with dried food on them. Our booth smelled...like a wet sponge that had been sitting around for a day or two. We just had our 3rd meal at cheddar , food was good, but server was so busy bothering us about meal, we couldn't enjoy our meal. Made us feel like he was rushing us to eat and get out. They had empty tables and booth, and even ask if we wanted our bill and we were only half through meal and wanted to order a dessert. all his annoying us ,I had to ask for more drink. I went 2 x to this fairly new restaurant and had a pretty good experience. The first time i oredered shephards pie which was quite tasty! The second time i went i ordered the salmon with special sauce in the under 700 calories category. Tis too i found quite good! i thought the prices were quite reasonable for the meal and I would def. return again! The salmon was recommended by the server the first time i went. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced but they were quite friendly and trying to be helpful. read more

One of the best local chains! Great prices - we got nachos, 2 entrées, and 2 iced teas for just $38 total. The nachos were perfect size with items on every chip. They offer a under 600 calorie menu with great and delicious options. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and recommended the rips - which were some of the best we've had in FL. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We were seated immediately because it wasn't busy at all and the waitress came over to take our drink orders. And we waited for 20 minutes for 4 waters. I guess they had to combine the hydrogen and oxygen molecules together. Two of us ordered a house salad and we waited one hour for both of them. They forgot mine. Once it came out, the experience did not get any better. I began eating and found a bug in mine. The only thing they offered was a free dessert, and they encouraged me to get the cheapest one. After an hour and fifteen minutes we got our food, which was not good and there were very small portions for some of us. Our waters were never refilled, we never got any condiments, and the waitress complained the entire time. Called to order takeout and was passed around to three people before I actually got to speak to anyone - for a time reference, I called at 5:30 on a Thursday - I was on hold for a while in between each person. I ordered the fish tacos and they were such a disappointment. It wasn't that they didn't taste good, but that each taco was half full. Half of each tortilla was completely empty and they only put one tiny piece of fish in each one. They should have just sold me one taco for $8 because that's what I got. I ordered steamed broccoli on the side but it was not steamed. It was so cold it tasted like it came right out of the fridge. So basically I got one taco for $8 and I couldn't eat the rest. Great food. This was our first time at Cheddars. We had the rib and chicken combo and a buffalo chicken wrap. All entrees were tasty and hot. Jim our server was very friendly, funny and had great recommendations. Had the red beans and rice as a side which was excellent. Guys at the bar had the Rib Eye and raved about that too. Nice to see the manager walking around and asking about the service and food. VERY reasonable prices. read more

Ok, I having thinking on it for a week now since I took my family there, again... I had been to Cheddar's a few times before with friends or family. I can not understand why it always takes at least 30 minutes to get mixed drinks or wine??!! Especially when we have been seated at the bar or at the high tables in the bar area. Our food always takes 40 minutes to an hour and luke warm or cold. On our last visit the waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu but he was friendly & tried to make up for that and the fact that all of our food was not the right temperature. Oh! Also I had to reorder my mixed drink since it did not come to me for the first 30 minutes after we ordered drinks. The terrible service has gone on long enough because they have been open long enough to work these issues out. I will NOT go back and give anymore chances. I WILL recommend that people go someplace else to get better service for their hard earned money!! read more

One of our favorite places to eat. The food is great!! This is a popular place, so when hubby and I go, we totally don't mind eating at the bar!! No waiting for a booth or table!! The bar staff is right there all the time!! We very rarely order any alcohol, just would rather eat there than wait for a table. And personally, we never try to figure that 15% tip--we just usually leave $15 or even $20 for a tip pretty much wherever we eat because we really appreciate not having to cook or clean!! Great food, amazing prices, and our "Bar" servers are out of this world awesome, friendly, and attentive!!!!! Do I love, love, love every dish I've ordered? No, BUT, I haven't loved absolutely every dish I've ever ordered anywhere else, either. Live and learn. P.S. This was an absolute horrible dining experience. I walked into the restaurant around 4pm, so they were not very busy at all with plenty of empty tables. We were seated almost immediately as expected. The waitress was fairly nice, but less than attentive. I ordered the chicken strips, as did the rest of my party. It took about 40 minutes to get our meal, and when it arrived, there were different amounts of chicken strips on each plate. 1 plate had just 3 small strips, another play had 6 big ones. It made no sense at all! On top of this, the meals were all cold. We could see and hear the staff joking around, so I suspect that our order probably sat finished in the kitchen for 20 minutes before the waitress brought it out. On top of this, the chicken strips tasted like they were old, and were extremely greasy and tough, like they had been cooked 1 day, weren't used, and decided to save them to reheat the next day. This place deserves its already horrible yelp review. Defiantly one of my worst dining and food experiences, and will not be going back EVER! read more
