The server Patti C was bad! Unfriendly not at all helpful. She brought out the wrong food after handling the food to the rest of the table she just walked away without saying a word. The food was less than mediocre! There was some kind of seaming in spinach dip. That didn't go in it at all! The chips were not salted. The queso had no and cheese bite were very bland. read more

I stopped at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for a late lunch. Absolutely amazing food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. I chose the Bourbon-Glazed Salmon & Shrimp and lady friend with me chose the same. I knew it was time to write a review since this is the restaurant I always to go for lunch when I'm in Knoxville. There is a wonderful outdoor area for dining as well but it was just a little too cold this time. I have to highly recommend. Just can't see how anyone would be disappointed. Also the pricing is surprisingly lower than you would expect at such a nice restaurant. read more

Stopped here on the way from Indianapolis to South Carolina and so glad we did . My wife has celiac's so it is hard to get a place that is good and celiac friendly . This cheddar's has a manager who has celiac's himself . He came out and went over everything with us . Our food came out fairly fast , hot and definitely good . This cheddar's is one of the better ones we have been to . Service is excellent , place is clean and food is good . This location will be one we stop at in our travels . read more

The food and service here is generally, and consistently, good, and is priced reasonably compared to the alternatives. I wouldn't recommend going off-menu for cocktails though, as my experiences of such, has not been good, but if you stick to beer, shots, or their cocktail menu then you should be okay. read more

I don't usually go for chains. We don't have a cheddar's where I live. The food was just okay. I usually like the main meat but I have to remember I don't like cheddar's mashed potatoes. I love it when I can go back and update a not so good review and replace it with a 5 star review, such as this one!!! A couple of months ago, we ate here and it was not too pleasurable of an experience, except for the management and the ribs. The ribs are always phenomenal. We went back last night for a X-mas/birthday dinner and the experience was completely different and thoroughly enjoyable in all aspects of the meal. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant and the service was remarkable!!! Our server was Marcus and I have to say that outside of very fine dining, He was the best server I've had in years. His kindness and knowledge of the menu was beyond exceptional!!! If anyone from corporate who reads this let me just say, he needs to give seminars on how to properly serve. He made me, my wife, my mother and father feel as if we were a guest in HIS home. I see management in his future, if he so desires it. Thank you Marcus, for a pleasurable dining experience!!! Got to-go food on a holiday, to be fair. But I knew I didn't like this place. Had to eat here again to be reminded. Chicken fried chicken was alright but over seasoned. Gravy was not great. The sides were okay (I got broccoli casserole and mash), Texas toast is always good but it wasn't that fresh. My husband ordered some onion rings that neither of us ate - they seemed old, like they'd sat in the kitchen awhile, and were stale and under seasoned. The croissants were pretty good. You can tell after eating this food that it's just terrible for you. It upset my stomach. Butter and sugar is probably how they make up for low quality ingredients. Did I realize what I was signing up for? Sure. But I was hoping it would maybe be as good as like, a Cracker Barrel, so I'm just going to order from them next time everybody else is closed. I will probably go another 10 or 15 years before I darken the door of another Cheddar's, which will only happen once I've inevitably forgotten again how much their food sucks. I ate here because my family wanted to get together here but I don't typically eat at mainstream restaurants anymore. The food is such low quality! I had a sirloin that was grisly and a baked potato. It didn't taste good and I already have a migraine from eating it. I regret it and wish I'd just went without. I don't know how people eat this garbage all the time instead of going to a mom and pop restaurant that usually has way better quality food. I can literally feel the difference! I'm only leaving two stars because the waitress was really sweet and served us well. The look of the place is nice with outdoor seating and a fish tank. Last 2 times in last week the service at the Cheddars off Clinton Hwy has really gone down hill. First time was a to go they got wrong. Send a gift card to make up for it. Today took 25 minutes to get served. Once received green beens were over sweet and cold. Mash potatoes had a crust like they were really old and uneatable. Will never go here again. read more

I went to Cheddars on Clinton Highway and ordered rib and steak combo ( medium well) . I received my combo with medium cooked steak I cut it opened and my steak was very pink. I told my waitress and she took the cut opened steak sent it back and I received the SAME exact steak back RECOOKED. I was totally disappointed in the fact the waitress thought that was ok and sanitary. I told her restaurant establishment should not recooked food and return the same food her response was well at CHEDDARS we do. I was floored. Also my grandson chicken Alfredo had a piece of hair in it smh. Needless to say the manager came to the table she apologized and comp my food. I liked Cheddars and I have had an issue with my steak before but, I was trying to give them a second chance. Had a nice lunch on Saturday June 3. I had grilled salmon with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. My wife had steak, baked potato and salad. All was cooked properly, served hot and fresh and properly seasoned. The restaurant was clean and well kept, but a tad cool. Our server was on top of his game and prompt. Went there with my family for lunch today and received the worst service ever! I have been going to this location since it opened and this was the poorest overall experience by far. The server was not knowledgeable about the menu (the gluten free menu in particular) or anything else for that matter.. I ordered my steak medium and it came out medium rare. The salad I ordered was never delivered and when I asked the server about it she replied, sorry I got busy and forgot. I sat for ten minutes with an empty tea glass, before I finally had to flag her down and ask for a refill. The manager came over to the table when he discovered the servers screw up on the gluten order and replaced the dinner. But he charged us for the meal and never checked back. We used to go to the cheddars in Johnson City, TN for years and loved it. This location...well it's bittersweet. Waited like ten minutes while standing around with like 30-35 other waiting people only to observe that every section of the restaurant had 2-3 open tables or booths. I know that you do not want to overwhelm your servers but that was a poor balance. Aside from the wait the food is always great and fairly priced. Apps: We LOVE the spinach and artichoke dip. Salad: House salad is a good portion and dressings are good. The honey glazed croissants that come with the salad are usually good as well Dinner: The two items that we often get and would recommend for you is the chicken tenders or the fish tacos. After being accustomed to eating a traditional Fish Fry in the Buffalo area, we decided to try our luck at Cheddar's in Knoxville. We were NOT disappointed. They offer a cornmeal breading white fish with fries and coleslaw that was every bit as good as the ones found in Erie County. Granted they have little competition here! The portions are ample to say the least. We had more than enough food to eat and take home to enjoy. Our server Melvin was pleasant, friendly, attentive to all our requests and was knowledgeable in the Cheddar's menu which helped us decide on the fish. He is a credit to the Cheddar's Corp. We will certainly return to sample more offerings this establishment menu includes that are not available in Buffalo. read more

Have eaten at this particular restaurant before and the quality has dropped. I understand COVID impacts but if you are taking dine in service, the service should be close to normal. Initial wine order was incorrect, white instead of red. Order was delayed in being sent to table. After extended delay, we were informed one of our meals had been given to another customer so we wait longer. When we finally received food, apparently my food had been sitting under heat lamps. Baked potato was hot on outside with inside too cool to melt already soft butter. Food was average at best. No offer from staff to do anything or make any adjustments while waiting an extended time to get check. Overall, bad experience, average food at best, missing acknowledgement of delays of otherwise patience customers. read more

On Sunday March 31, 2019 around 2:12 pm, our server was Nate Votta the GM for Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. Nate was the 1st manager to help out in waiting tables and bussing tables with a smile on his face. He went above and beyond guest services, to make sure that our table didn't need or want for anything. If there was award for Super Service it needed to be presented to Nate for his excellent quality of service. My two sons' and I enjoy eating at Cheddars for brunch. Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen serves made-from-scratch entrees every day. They have the best hand-battered Chicken strips, Scratch Burgers, and Homemade French fries. I believe that Cheddar's has a staff of Iron Chef's cooking all the made- from- scratch food every day. Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, is always busy all day and every day.
