My husband and I and two friends made a drive to try this restaurant. Don't ask my why but I drove an hour and a half after a long day of work to this establishment for dinner. I was told the food was amazing and I wanted to try something new. This restaurant gets a 10/10 for the atmosphere. It is so cozy and nice on the inside. The booths are huge and the tables are huge and it's just overall an amazing atmosphere. Our server was amazing, she was friendly and attentive and I have absolutely no complaints about her once so ever. The food was good, it could of been better but I still left pleased with what I ordered and stuffed to say the least. My husband and I got chips and queso and an order of their bread while our friends got the onion rings for us all to share. All 3 appetizers were outstanding. For dinner i ordered the steak with a half rack of ribs and it was a little dry but still very tasty. Overrall the thing that impressed me most was the price of the bill! It was only 40 dollars for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers and dessert! When you take into account the gas and tolls for me to drive there in the end was it worth it? Probably not. First, I would like to say that our server, Jalen, tried his best. As a restaurant manager myself, I could tell he was a bit flustered as he was the only server in the section and the only one making drinks. That being said, we would like to thank him. However, the kitchen and management team dropped the ball. We waited at least an hour for our meals and everything came out wrong. I asked for no pickles and got pickles (I can pick those off) but the worst part was receiving (after our meals already came out) Caesar salads with no cheese and no croutons. Only brown lettuce and dressing. A complete disappointment. I did not see any manager helping or any other staff. I hate to complain but this was a poor experience all around. read more

On the way from the Eastern Shore my husband and I stopped into Cheddar's for a late lunch. We were attracted to the restaurant by the "fresh made" claim. After being seated quickly and reading the menu, I first decided on the barbecue chicken quarter. But had to change my selection after the waitress said it was only dark meat. I then wondered where the breast quarters went . I also inquired if the French fries were made from scratch and the answer was no. So both my husband and I opted for the chicken fingers and shrimp with a loaded baked potato and broccoli. A few minutes after placing the order, the waitress returned to inform us that previous big parties had consumed all the baked potatoes on hand and the kitchen staff was just preparing to make a new batch which would take a while. So we opted for the French fries. When our entrees arrived the shrimp were pretty tasty; the chicken fingers over breaded; French fries lukewarm and broccoli over cooked. We did get a new batch of fries after complaining to our server. The restaurant was fairly clean and our server was very pleasant and humble. I don't think that I would return to Cheddar's because it's claim to "scratch made" is questionable. read more

WELL, WELL, WELL, Oh my, my my--- my favorite place disappointed me today. A friend and I was at Smyrna Cheddars today. The food was off and the server too. We ordered the chicken platter and an alcohol beverage. It was 35 minutes before we got the food. I get a bake potatoes and slaw for my side order. The bake potato was cold, hard and half cooked, the slaw was runny with mayo. Within 45 minutes we inquired about the beverages. The server stated, " they have not put it up yet". So we never got the beverages. My friend asked for ketchup to have with her fries. It took 10 minutes to get ketchup. My friend conveyed to another server how long we had been waiting. She stated that our server was very busy. I GUESS WE WAS NOT PAYING CUSTOMER!!!! Oh and the server said she dropped our rolls. That's why it took so long to get the rolls. I have been to Cheddars before, and although the food is good, it isn't my go-to. However, I recently ordered a meal to-go and I had to change my tune. There are so any times I mentally picture, and taste, food in my mind, only to be disappointed when I actually get it. This time was different. I had been craving broccoli casserole, and buttered croissants. In addition, I wanted some comfort food, and decided to try their chicken pot pie. I was shocked to find it was what I had been craving. The meat was tender, creamy filling, tender veggies, and the flakey crust was a heavenly pillow in my mouth. The portion size was just right for leftovers, and even then, it was still good. I have ordered pot pies from other restaurants, and their pot pies were..."eh." It's sad that I can opt for KFC pot pie over other establishments, like Cracker Barrel. Their pot pies have dry, tasteless chicken, under-cooked veggies, and their pie fillings are too salty. They look great, smell great, but are lacking in the taste factor...but Cheddars did NOT disappoint! I am looking forward to the next time I order, because the pot pie will be wt the top if my list (of course, with my favorite broccoli casserole and buttered croissants). read more

This was a very unpleasant experience. After about 45 minutes, half of the party's entree was served, others were not. I requested my entree be put in for take out, since our time was now up. The manager came to the table to confirm the request. Once the entree was delivered, manager states ok, do you want to holler at me now. Go ahead, don't keep it in. Really, this is how you correct your mistake? By trying to pick a fight. A family dinner where only half of us was served and manager thought it was funny. Oh course, she shoved that bill. Went there with grandmother and had a panic attack when she was saying the 12 time about saving money and finding friends. My entire body felt like it was at gunpoint and when I checked my food I had asked no pickles on the burger and it just resulted in me calling for the waitress. I apologized and she was able to get a new one made and I left a bigger tip them I should have. Damn good burger and the soup was amazing but I can't set foot in there again. My husband and I came back because our first experience was so good. We both ordered burgers and they came out exactly as we had asked for. I asked for no bun and both burgers were well seasoned and our service was wonderful. The first two times we went there I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich and thought it was really good. I was raving about it to my friends, and a big group of us went there for a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, the third time was a disappointment. I was so looking forward to that sandwich, but it just wasn't good this time. I had convinced another group member to order it, and he didn't like it either. If a restaurant is not consistent in the quality of the food, it discourages me from wanting to go there again. Service was friendly, but not very attentive. Too bad. We were out of town and ordered dinner online for my daughter's b-day. 4 meals total. Everyone loved theirs, but I ordered their new menu item, 1 lb, Texas T-Bone steak, and I ordered it medium. The descriptive photo shows a beautifully cooked T-Bone saying excellent marbling and flavor. Well, the "marbling" turned out to be more gristle than marbling. The "flavor" was an overabundance of seasonings, leading in pepper. Wasn't so bad I didn't eat what parts I could, but bad enough I won't be soon ordering again. The meat was more rare than medium, so there was more that wasn't consumed. The extra mushrooms I ordered were good, though. I also ordered, for my side, the broccoli cheese thingy, like broccoli casserole. What I got was a cup of broccoli stems, no tops at all. Just stems. And oversized stems at that. The cheese sauce I guess it is, wasn't bad, just all the stems ruined it for me. Personally, for the money for the steak, I suggest getting a new supplier. This steak was so thin, that it seemed to have come from an anorexic cow. The other meals had no complaints, only compliments. My ultimate feelings are the place serves good food, and just stay away from the steaks. Stick to the steakhouses for that. read more

I didn't really care for the food. Broccoli was soft and overdone. Ribs were somewhat dry. Most food was quite salty. I wouldn't go here again. If I wanted this kind of food, of all the chains, I probably would suggest TX Roadhouse, Ruby Tuesday, and Outback, although the latter 2 I admittedly have not visited recently. Although technically they say it is from scratch, it didn't taste like it was. I'm guessing they make it from "scratch" by using pre-made products (like most chain restaurants do) and combine them to create "from scratch" food, only technically speaking, when in reality it isn't. I love cheddars. I love everything about this restaurant . I had a great crispy chicken salad with honey mustard dressing with a warm honey croissant . A humongous pile of onion rings...delicious. with a spicy dip . Cheddars doesn't feel like a chain restaurant because everything is made from scratch. The cooking and seasoning of the mushrooms and rice were good, better than many other chain sit down restaurants. The seasoning of the actual pieces of chicken was very tasteful. Cons: Overcooked and under-seasoned broccoli The Honey Dijon sauce is sticky sweet. Improving that would elevate the entire dish tremendously. I couldn't finish the rice as it was inundated with the sauce. I ended up scraping it off the chicken. Service: Friendly and fairly expedient. Pricing: Fair for the experience. I feel if a little more attention was paid to say, not over cooking veggies and developing more on point sauce flavor profiles, this place would do even better than it does now. read more

First time at Cheddars for dinner last night. The wait wasn't bad 10-15 mins to seat 3 people. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. First we ordered the honey butter croissants and the Wisconsin fried cheese bites. Both were delish! I also got the Maui magarita which was excellent on the rocks. For my entrée I got the sirloin steak with grilled shrimp mash potatoes and broccoli cheese casserole. I asked for medium rare for the steak and it was cooked perfectly ! The shrimp was sweet and spicy and I loved the fried onions that came with the steak. Overall I am pleasantly surprised how much I liked the food and the prices were decent for what we got! We were in Frederica Delaware for a lacrosse tournament and we found cheddars in Camden about 15 minutes away from our hotel. My daughter had the chicken fingers and I absolutely love them. They were nice and crispy. I have the steak and grilled shrimp and everything was delicious. There a restaurant that serves very traditional home cooked meals. The staff was wonderful. I had a Family behind me that let their young child FaceTime with a screaming baby for about 15 minutes. When I realized it wasn't gonna end, I asked to be moved, and they were more than accommodating. The restaurant is loud, so be prepared for that. I would definitely go back. They have multiple locations I've been to a few and never had a bad meal. read more

The first time we went here was when my son was about 6 months old. The manager came out and gave us a gift bag full of goodies- a onsie, a blanket, a croissant- shaped pillow, etc. It was completely unexpected and lovely! The blanket quickly became my son's favorite, and when we needed to replace it, I used the "contact us" tab on the website, and sent an email. I asked if I could purchase another, and received a reply a few days later, offering to send us one for free. The last two times I ordered curbside from the Murfreesboro, TN location, the order included one of your ribeye steaks. Both times they had a ridiculous amount of pepper/spices on them. This last order was so awful we had to rinse the steak off. I'm not sure why the chef has to ruin a perfectly good piece of beef by drowning it in pepper/spices. I could understand if it was an old crappy piece of beef...that is NOT the case here. It's sad when I spend $21 on a steak and its barely edible even after being rinsed off.
