We absolutely love this new play area! My 3-year-old enjoys it so much and never wants to leave. The space is new, clean, and most importantly, feels very safe which gives me such peace of mind as a mom. What I appreciate most is how much learning is naturally built into the play. There are so many choices and activities that really support her learning curve while still making everything fun and engaging. It's the perfect balance of play and development. And the bonus? We love this place! Been coming since it opened a couple months ago and we can see it getting better and better with each visit. Around $20 for an hour and $35 for two hours, my 2 year old doesn't stop running and playing the second we get there. The toys are top quality, everything is super clean and well kept, and the space is huge. The little arts & crafts room is perfect, we have many drawings and crafts on our walls at home from here. I've also tried the matcha and other cafe items, and it's better than any cafe nearby. My only gripe is you can't take the coffee into the play area.. maybe in the future there will be a little area for parents to sit and have coffee while watching the little ones play. I'm not a parent so this review is primarily for their coffee space! I heard about this business and was grabbing lunch in the mall so I decided to stop in to try their cafe which is open to the public. They serve MoonGoat coffee, which I'm a huge fan of and definitely impressed me. I got a Salted Caramel latte and it was delicious! I hung out awhile in the shop and the owner was kind enough to show me around the play space as they were in between playtimes! The cafe and play space were so colorful and cute! You can definitely tell it was thoughtfully designed. I volunteer with kids in the 1-3 age range and the space is so perfect for that group! Will definitely recommend this spot to the parents I know! Even if you don't have kids, the cafe is definitely worth a visit if you're at the mall! read more

What a great concept! The play area is nice and large but not too big where you'll lose your kids. I'm impressed with how clean it is. The latte was great. Haven't tried the food yet. The service was the absolute best!!! Cynthia helped get me set up and checked in my first time and she made the process smooth and easy to understand, she was kind and welcoming. My 2 year old son and I absolutely loved this place. There was so much to do here and we could've easily spent hours here. I'm sad that the cafe area wasn't open when I got there around 4pm but I really look forward to coming back at an earlier time and hopefully catching them open too. Check N' Play is such a unique place. The best of both worlds merge between a playplace and a cafe, we love going here with our son! The food and drinks are excellent and the cafe is clean, has great outlet coverage, and is a wonderful work/study space! The playplace is impeccable, so clean and well-maintained. The staff are incredible with our son, and he is so excited whenever we tell him we are going to Check N' Play. Whether we are spending time playing with the great set of toys and games or if we are watching him enjoy the space with the caretakers, we always feel so welcome and cared for! Colorful nice spot thats fun for the little ones! While the play space is a little small there are lots to do and play with for the kids but I still think the pricing overall is a little steep. Came in and was greeted by a bit of a luke warm person at the front although they were helpful with our questions. 1 hour for the kid, a pair of socks (mandatory), and 2 adults ended up being almost $42. Nice waiting area where our kid colored and we got 2 coffees and a muffin that were $18 total (again kinda steep and the muffin was tiny). The barista was very nice and the drinks and muffin were good though. Inside was bright and colorful and lots of fun stuff for kids to do. There was a leak and a small broken section but everything was pretty nice. The staff member Inside was very friendly and kind when guiding folks away from the leak. Im not sure how much more we'd ever come cause of the price. Definitely do just 1 parent as the $10 additional for another adult is kind of pointless. I like the concept and the space but the price is a bit much for me. read more

Brand new baby indoor play area filled with toys, kitchen area, and play gym that will help develop motor skills while having fun. They have separate rooms for crafts and a cafe for the parents as you enter the store. Services was amazing. They have 1-2 employees constantly supervising and cleaning the area after a kid runs off to another station. The only reason I knocked off one star is because of the food prices. A flat bread, in my personal opinion, should not be $20-30. Maybe it's priced higher because it's in the mall and they just opened, but I'm not too sure about that. Besides that, the price for kids to play is roughly $25-35 PER hour which I don't think it's too bad based on my budget. However, I have also been to many places around the OC/LA area that was around the same price for the Whole day. Again, this place is new and inside a mall, so prices are higher because of that. This place was incredible from start to finish. My daughter (2 years 5mo) had the best time ever. It was my first time technically leaving her "unattended"... but tbh -- I was right on the other side of the wall watching the cameras hahah . We checked in, got our bracelets, and I grabbed a coffee while making sure she felt comfortable. My husband stayed with her for a bit, then headed out while I relaxed with my drink and kept an eye on her through the live camera link they provide ! which honestly gave me so much peace of mind. Being able to see my girl while taking a little time to myself was everything. I wish I brought more work to work on! After seeing some reviews I know this might rub some people the wrong way but I really appreciate the strict 6and under rule. Kids all ages play different, it's important we keep EVERYONE safe . The owner was so kind and accommodating, the barista made a delicious vanilla latte, and for snack time shared a cheese flatbread with dipping sauce. the perfect way to start the morning. I bought tickets to my child there (who was 7) and didn't see anything in the Kiosk or waiver that said no kids over 6 is allowed and nothing prevented me or warned me. The attendant didn't say anything anything and just printed out bracelets My kid just went in to playdough and then build some things in the wall. Some negative nancy lady kept following us around and then approached us and said he is over age 6 and must leave. I said he wasn't doing anything just building by himself, and she says fine he can stay there. The minute he left the wall to do something else she approached me and demanded us to leave - he was not allowed to move anywhere other than the wall area because of his age (he wasn't doing anything disruptive at all) We got kicked out because he was 7, no refund offered no nothing. Pretty crazy. It's not cheap either, $30 for 2 hours, or in my case minutes Was told older kids were a liability but when i got there, the attendants played some parachute game and a little girl got knocked down who hit her head on the floor HARD and started screaming and crying, the attendants didn't know what to do. Checked out check n play yesterday with my 1 year old. He's in his wobbly walking stage. We had a blast! I'd say for comparison this place was a lot calmer compared to little elephant. I really liked how it was not crazy packed and the parents seemed to watch their little ones more. When we went there were a lot of 1-3 year olds. But this place is great for 1-6 year old there are a lot of different activities. We will definitely be coming back! read more

My husband and I brought our kids here around Christmas. The play space is great, but my husband and I had to stay in the play area with no comfortable seating for adults. They do not allow food or coffee in the space - they also do not allow you to sit in the cafe and have drink while your kids play. For the price we paid, we were expecting to have to watch them less and to have a more relaxing experience - like the name of the business implies (Check them in and let them play) They also charged us for grip socks and they have certain start times, so if you want to put your kid in the next start time you may have to wait, or you can put them in the current time and lose minutes of play. We paid over 80 dollars to watch our 3 kids play for about 45 minutes with uncomfortable seating and no food or water. Didn't make a lot of sense to us. read more

One big inconvenience though: they do not accept cash, which I honestly found a little ridiculous. Not everyone wants to pay with a card, and it would be helpful if they had that option. During the time we went, we were actually the only ones there. The staff member working was very kind and friendly, but she stayed very close by most of the time. While I appreciate attentive staff, I did feel a little pressured to keep conversation going when I really just wanted to let my 5-year-old play while I relaxed for a bit. read more

Oh what a fun little afternoon we had! The staff was incredible and so great at engaging with my kiddos. I hosted my daughter & son's birthday party here and all I can say is 1000/1000!!! We went with the dot affair and it was the best decision! The set up that they provided along with decor plus service was top tier. All my guest left super impressed with the staff the place itself & not to mention they loved the cafe area aswell! A lot of my guest tried a variety of the coffees and matcha and they all loved it! Most important to me was that all the kids had a blast and really enjoyed every corner of this place. The play structure may be smaller than other indoor play places, (maybe that's what some other reviewers mean when they say the space is small, because I found it to be spacious) but I didn't mind because there were so many other great things to play with. I liked that it almost felt like a children's museum - lots of interactive elements, play kitchen, dress up, baby dolls, art room, and things to engineer/build with on the walls and floor. My 3 yo barely even went on the play structure because she was having so much fun with everything else. I was impressed by the quality of all the toys, high end brands in quality materials like wood. It definitely felt like a unique play space experience compared to others we've been to. The cafe is cute, clean and has great options - I enjoyed my matcha. We attended the Mickey & Minnie Holiday Playdate and it was an adorable event that my daughter is still talking about. The tables were festively decorated, the Micky & Minnie entertainment was fun, and the included treats were yummy - the combination of this with exploring the play space afterwards made for a special and memorable experience. Overall I think they have a great concept, I think the supervised play option is really cool - and I think this would be a great place to have a birthday party as well! read more

The new Check N' Play at Brea Mall is SO CUTE. My daughter loved the dress up clothes, play kitchen, and unique play horses that she could ride. I loved how high quality the toys are and the variety of toys for her. I really liked how modern all the colors and designs were of the play place - made me feel like I wasn't at some grimy kids play place but a place I actually wanted to be at. I picked up a yummy iced matcha while there and I enjoyed the vibe of the cafe. This facility is so unprofessional and the owner is very rude. They lack in customer satisfaction and clearly do not know how to run a business. She's the type of owner that comes off as "I'm right you're wrong" which is exactly what you do not do when trying to run a successful business. I was actually pretty shocked she was even the owner. She preaches "our playground is strictly for ages 6 and under and it is stated in our policy" but clearly not strict enough to where in a few occasions they overlooked it and have let 7 year olds in. It's not about her policy that upset me but the way she handled everything. She was not apologetic by her staff error, she did not take accountability. Another issue is that I booked online for my 3 kids who were 6,4, and 1 for facilitated play. Why even have an option online to book for a baby for facilitated play if they aren't going to be allowed in without their parent being there? When I checked her in, the owner did not say anything about me staying there with her. When I walked her inside I asked a staff member if someone would be there with her and they said yes. When I went to go pick her up they said she was not allowed to be left there and that she had a full diaper which was not true. She is fully potty trained but had an emergency diaper on. The owner needs to work less on being defensive and work more on customer satisfaction. I would've been more appreciative and probably would've been a returning customer if she took some kind of accountability for her staff error or came off with a better attitude. read more
