Checked out check n play yesterday with my 1 year old. He's in his wobbly walking stage. We had a blast! I'd say for comparison this place was a lot calmer compared to little elephant. I really liked how it was not crazy packed and the parents seemed to watch their little ones more. When we went there were a lot of 1-3 year olds. But this place is great for 1-6 year old there are a lot of different activities. We will definitely be coming back! read more

The place was very nice and clean, which I really appreciated. Everything looked well kept and safe for kids. One big inconvenience though: they do not accept cash, which I honestly found a little ridiculous. Not everyone wants to pay with a card, and it would be helpful if they had that option. During the time we went, we were actually the only ones there. The staff member working was very kind and friendly, but she stayed very close by most of the time. While I appreciate attentive staff, I did feel a little pressured to keep conversation going when I really just wanted to let my 5-year-old play while I relaxed for a bit. read more

I bought tickets to my child there (who was 7) and didn't see anything in the Kiosk or waiver that said no kids over 6 is allowed and nothing prevented me or warned me. The attendant didn't say anything anything and just printed out bracelets My kid just went in to playdough and then build some things in the wall. Some negative nancy lady kept following us around and then approached us and said he is over age 6 and must leave. I said he wasn't doing anything just building by himself, and she says fine he can stay there. The minute he left the wall to do something else she approached me and demanded us to leave - he was not allowed to move anywhere other than the wall area because of his age (he wasn't doing anything disruptive at all) We got kicked out because he was 7, no refund offered no nothing. Pretty crazy. It's not cheap either, $30 for 2 hours, or in my case minutes Was told older kids were a liability but when i got there, the attendants played some parachute game and a little girl got knocked down who hit her head on the floor HARD and started screaming and crying, the attendants didn't know what to do. This place was a great experience for my 4 yr old daughter , not only was it super clean but the staff was really welcoming and super kind We will definitely be coming back! Colorful nice spot thats fun for the little ones! While the play space is a little small there are lots to do and play with for the kids but I still think the pricing overall is a little steep. Came in and was greeted by a bit of a luke warm person at the front although they were helpful with our questions. 1 hour for the kid, a pair of socks (mandatory), and 2 adults ended up being almost $42. Nice waiting area where our kid colored and we got 2 coffees and a muffin that were $18 total (again kinda steep and the muffin was tiny). The barista was very nice and the drinks and muffin were good though. Inside was bright and colorful and lots of fun stuff for kids to do. There was a leak and a small broken section but everything was pretty nice. The staff member Inside was very friendly and kind when guiding folks away from the leak. Im not sure how much more we'd ever come cause of the price. Definitely do just 1 parent as the $10 additional for another adult is kind of pointless. My husband and I brought our kids here around Christmas. The play space is great, but my husband and I had to stay in the play area with no comfortable seating for adults. They do not allow food or coffee in the space - they also do not allow you to sit in the cafe and have drink while your kids play. For the price we paid, we were expecting to have to watch them less and to have a more relaxing experience - like the name of the business implies (Check them in and let them play) They also charged us for grip socks and they have certain start times, so if you want to put your kid in the next start time you may have to wait, or you can put them in the current time and lose minutes of play. We paid over 80 dollars to watch our 3 kids play for about 45 minutes with uncomfortable seating and no food or water. Didn't make a lot of sense to us. read more

I hosted my daughter & son's birthday party here and all I can say is 1000/1000!!! We went with the dot affair and it was the best decision! The set up that they provided along with decor plus service was top tier. All my guest left super impressed with the staff the place itself & not to mention they loved the cafe area aswell! A lot of my guest tried a variety of the coffees and matcha and they all loved it! Most important to me was that all the kids had a blast and really enjoyed every corner of this place. Oh what a fun little afternoon we had! The staff was incredible and so great at engaging with my kiddos. My son loved building magnetic tracks and my daughter loved baking in the kitchen with the lovely women working there. I got to take a little break and have a delicious matcha while they didn't even notice I was gone! We will definitely be back. This place is impeccably clean and organized. Super cute play space! The play structure may be smaller than other indoor play places, (maybe that's what some other reviewers mean when they say the space is small, because I found it to be spacious) but I didn't mind because there were so many other great things to play with. I liked that it almost felt like a children's museum - lots of interactive elements, play kitchen, dress up, baby dolls, art room, and things to engineer/build with on the walls and floor. My 3 yo barely even went on the play structure because she was having so much fun with everything else. I was impressed by the quality of all the toys, high end brands in quality materials like wood. It definitely felt like a unique play space experience compared to others we've been to. The cafe is cute, clean and has great options - I enjoyed my matcha. We attended the Mickey & Minnie Holiday Playdate and it was an adorable event that my daughter is still talking about. The tables were festively decorated, the Micky & Minnie entertainment was fun, and the included treats were yummy - the combination of this with exploring the play space afterwards made for a special and memorable experience. Overall I think they have a great concept, I think the supervised play option is really cool - and I think this would be a great place to have a birthday party as well! read more

The new Check N' Play at Brea Mall is SO CUTE. My daughter loved the dress up clothes, play kitchen, and unique play horses that she could ride. I loved how high quality the toys are and the variety of toys for her. I really liked how modern all the colors and designs were of the play place - made me feel like I wasn't at some grimy kids play place but a place I actually wanted to be at. I picked up a yummy iced matcha while there and I enjoyed the vibe of the cafe. We can't wait to go back and take advantage of the supervised play so that this Momma can drink her matcha without interruption. read more

Check N' Play is such a beautiful place for my child. The owners are kind and welcoming and the attendants truly enjoy playing with and caring for the children. There are so many amazing things for preschoolers to do and explore, and the space is always clean and inviting. As a busy mom, I love having the option to run a few errands while knowing my child is safe, supported, and having fun. And the cafe is such a bonus. The matcha and snacks are so good. This facility is so unprofessional and the owner is very rude. They lack in customer satisfaction and clearly do not know how to run a business. She's the type of owner that comes off as "I'm right you're wrong" which is exactly what you do not do when trying to run a successful business. I was actually pretty shocked she was even the owner. She preaches "our playground is strictly for ages 6 and under and it is stated in our policy" but clearly not strict enough to where in a few occasions they overlooked it and have let 7 year olds in. It's not about her policy that upset me but the way she handled everything. She was not apologetic by her staff error, she did not take accountability. Another issue is that I booked online for my 3 kids who were 6,4, and 1 for facilitated play. Why even have an option online to book for a baby for facilitated play if they aren't going to be allowed in without their parent being there? When I checked her in, the owner did not say anything about me staying there with her. When I walked her inside I asked a staff member if someone would be there with her and they said yes. When I went to go pick her up they said she was not allowed to be left there and that she had a full diaper which was not true. She is fully potty trained but had an emergency diaper on. The owner needs to work less on being defensive and work more on customer satisfaction. I would've been more appreciative and probably would've been a returning customer if she took some kind of accountability for her staff error or came off with a better attitude. read more

The beverages at this establishment are very tasty and definitely worth a visit! The apple yuzu tea is my go to whenever I stop by. The ambiance is also very vibrant and welcoming :)! I enjoy seeing how the staff are patient with each childs needs and attitude. Working with children is a tough business as they are fragile in many ways. My toddler had a great time, and the space was clean, well organized, and thoughtfully set up with engaging activities. However, I supervised my child the entire time because there was only one staff member on duty. When the staff member was inside the art room assisting with activities, they were unable to adequately monitor the rest of the play area. I also noticed a child without a parent present who did not appear to be closely monitored, as the staff member was busy assisting with activities and organizing. This is a safety concern, especially since this place is designed for parents to drop off their children and visit the nearby café. The art room is located inside the play area, but visibility into the rest of the space was limited. A large window would have been helpful for better supervision. For parents to feel comfortable doing that, supervision needs to be more consistent and focused on safety rather than only assisting with activities. With improved supervision, I would feel comfortable returning in the future. read more

We really love this indoor play place/café. My 2 year old son has so much fun here, there are tons of activities, including open play and arts and crafts, which keeps him fully engaged. One of the best features is that parents can leave their child in the play area while grabbing coffee or getting work done in the café, and there's even a live video feed you can view, which is amazing. The only thing that holds me back from fully using that option is the attendant inside the play area. She is nice, but not very personable with the kids and a bit overly rigid, so I wish there were someone a little more kid-friendly in that role. The toys here are new and pretty clean. My daughter had a good time with the varied activities. I'm not sure we'd return because of the cons: -You have to purchase their grip socks for "safety purposes". It's probably because of profit margin purposes, but fine. Margins can be razor thin at class A mall locations -Good there's a bathroom inside but the floor was wet our entire visit. Unlike Little Elephants, there aren't any slippers to protect your feet. Remember you just forked over some money for their socks? Get ready to fork over more money for a problem they caused. Or you walk around with wet socks. You decide. -I can't figure out the purpose of the cafe. This place is promoted as somewhere you can sip coffee and play with your kid. In reality you can't do that because you can't bring in drinks nor can you watch your kid from the cafe area. It might as well be a separate business. -You can't bring in water since they're afraid it will spill. This is ironic because there's water all over the floor of the bathroom. And because I was too cheap to buy their profit socks and they are too cheap to provide slippers, there was water all over the play floor anyway. read more

I especially came here on New Year's Eve since it was raining heavily and indoor play spaces were the only option. I am not an indoor play space newbie and have thankfully experienced many in the OC, Inland Empire area and internationally as well. This was by far one of my worst experiences. They offer "1 hr" of play time in a small space for $25/hr, which in itself is higher than competitors, especially considering that other places like Little Elephant (just outside Brea Mall) have a significantly larger space and charge that much for a full day of play time. However, my issue wasn't the cost, it was the overall experience which was so botched, unprofessional and just unwelcoming. The person at the counter wasted 10 mins of time in "showing me the play space" and random talk. I reached there after 5pm and realized that they have specific start and end times for open play. You don't get 1 hour from the time you walk in, nor do they timestamp you. If you reach after their start times, even if it's 15 mins past, they will still charge you the full amount without offering a discount or even alternatively suggesting that you can't enter since it's past the start time and it won't be fair to charge full price while only allowing 40 mins of play. There system hangs up when you try to sign up and fill out the waivers, and instead of helping you, speeding things up or even offering a discount or some form of compensation for time lost, the attendant started showing other people around the play space, all the while the clock was ticking of me. I still agreed to go in since I same all the way with my child. However, after I finished signing up, I was asked to pay an additional $4 for "grip socks." My child was specifically wearing grip socks/leggings because we always go to indoor play areas. I also suggested I could show multiple OTHER grip socks that I had myself to the attendant but she insisted I must pay the $4 fee and use "their" grip socks. This is literally highway robbery and holding parents hostage when the child has seen a play area and wants to go in to play. They're essentially charging you almost $30 for a little over half an hour of play because they wasted 15 mins of my time when I was 5 mins past the start time. The play area itself is basic and small, there were barely any kids there and kids need to socialize and play with other kids. It's located on the second floor in a dead end part of Brea Mall but instead of providing good customer service, promotions, marketing their business or even solutions to potential customers, they literally do everything in their power to push customers away. Save yourself time, money and effort and go to Little Elephant outside the mall. They have much better pricing, customer service, a bigger play area and will give you better value for your time and money. Note that my issue wasn't the extra charges but the fact that they refuse to work with customers, provide any solutions or even have basic decency. One of the worst play spaces I have encountered by far. read more

Deceptive business practices. I have 3 and 7-year olds and have been to almost all of the play areas in Orange County. Upon arrival at Check n Play, I was informed that the facility is for ages 6 and under, however my 7-year old (who just turned 7) would still be able to play. Ok, I understand the rules and there can be a little wiggle room. After filling out the waiver (with correct birthdays), I was told that the age policy is strictly 6 and under with no exceptions. This directly contradicts what I was told literally 2 minutes prior. Now my 7-year old is upset because she can't go, and my 3-year old can't go because I can't split up my kids. The staff working here needs to be informed that if they are going to have a firm policy on age that they need to be consistent with what they tell customers. read more

I've been here a few times already and have to say I am thoroughly impressed. As with any business that's only been only for a few weeks, there are a few things that could be adjusted however, overall this small business is now my go-to. I can tell the owner (a mom of littles also) put a lot love into this space. A few things I appreciate: 1. The food and drinks are excellent and there are plenty of kid snacks available too. 2. The play space is very clean and they make sure it stays clean. There are no open areas on the play structure that children can accidently fall off of (like other playgrounds out there). I like that the play area is not ginormous, its reasonable, so when its time to leave I am not searching too long for them. They were very intentional with everything that is in the play area from a giant Lite Bright, to slides, to climbing, to playing dress up, tea party, building toys, art room and the list goes on. 3. There are cubbies available so you don't have to lug all your stuff inside while playing with your littles. THANK YOU for free hands during play time! 4. The merchandise area has a lot of fun items to buy. I went right before Christmas and purchased a few gifts there too. 5. The staff... they're genuinely so kind and so helpful. The owner was there and I can see the love she has for children and Check N Play. 6. I loved that I was able to enjoy some me time while my kids played. I felt they were safe as the play area is away from the entrance and its own space. 7. Finally, I really like that they organize events also. I went to their Mickey and Minnie event and my kids loved it. They provided treats and the table set up was something out of Pinterest. My experience was very pleasant, and look forward to watching Check N Play grow. I'll definitely be returning and supporting this small business! read more

Took my daughter here on 1/19/2026 and it was awesome. We met a friend there and they both had a blast. Initially we weren't sure how the kids would handle us letting them play while we sat at the cafe, however, they were totally great. The staff was engaging and took the time to help them either with getting things to play with or do arts and crafts in the craft room. My daughter specifically was in the art room for at least 45 minutes. The space was open, bright, and had a ton of different activities - from playing pretend, to building blocks, to having a couple of slides and monkey bars. We will be going back. read more

the first time i visited this place and i signed the waiver for my kid ( he was 7) and they had no problem and let him in the play area for an hour. so he asked me to go again and i agreed, he got excited for it, when i arrived the owner was like no I will not let him in. when i asked her why did you let him in the first time? she did not have an answer. my kid got so sad and started crying because he was waiting for it. if they were transparent from the beginning I wouldn't promise my son that i will take him and wouldn't break his heart. but because if there unprofessionalism this happened. plus they were sooo rude and careless. they didn't see that they caused this problem from the beginning when they let him in the first time. read more
