This place is incredible! Everything is very clean, and the staff are so kind and knowledgeable. My son was crying and very shy at the beginning, but a staff member named Kaitlyn immediately came up to him and started doing arts and crafts with him. She was so warm and patient, and within minutes my son stopped crying and began laughing and enjoying himself! As a parent, you're able to let your kids play in the playroom while stepping into the café area to have a drink or food. There are two staff members who are constantly making rounds and checking on the kids. You can also watch a livestream of the playroom, which made me feel confident and comfortable stepping away to enjoy a coffee. We will definitely be back -- we absolutely loved the space! We also had the chance to meet the owner, who has two kids of her own. You can really tell this space was designed by a parent because it's so thoughtfully kid-friendly. The whole place is beautifully done, and we're already planning to come back for a birthday party! Thank you, Check N Play! P.S the teas and refreshers are to die for!!! read more

This place is great. The price might seem steep but it's facilitated so if you want to step out to the cafe and enjoy your coffee you can! They have a small selection of toddler approved foods and just added wine and beer. The coffee is good quality and tastes great. The playground itself is spacious and clean. The facilitators interact with your littles and make sure they don't get hurt. The entire area is toddler friendly. They have two restrooms inside the play area itself. One outside in the cafe which has the changing table. You do have to leave your stroller outside but they have a designated spot where it's viewable from the cafe. My 21 month old has come twice and it won't be our last. Can't speak for how busy it gets on weekends as we've only come during the week while on vacation. You do get socks for your littles with purchase as well. read more

I been here couple of times already Pro: staff friendly, clean environment, can tell the toys are all high cost items, playground size exactly great to find the kids Cons: the website info too little, can tell this business is too new don't know what customers want, the 1 and 2 hours are too short for play time this should recommend adjust as kids don't want to leave after 2 hours, the price it is abit expensive, the birthday party details so little and expensive. Compare to other venues your price is double. I suggest adding 3 hours options, or an easy add on 1 or half hour after reserve the 2 hours slot. Kids need to cried to get out not a good experience. Or consider to do daily pass or 4 hours options. Specifically indicated this playground is not hands free for parents - I observe parents left their kids without letting staff know. The staff tried to get close to kids and kids gone wild crazy. Oh and the drinks in this cafe taste very bad need to way improve it read more

Went for the very first time and it was great! We went during I'd say a slower time and left as soon as it got busy but we had a lovely experience and both my kids ages 2 and 5 had a blast. You can reserve or walk in and you pay for a 2 hour slot. Love the concept of leaving the kids for a tiny bit and popping into your favorite store, I can see myself doing that with my 5 year old who wouldn't leave the art room. Staff and owner are very kind. We will be back read more

In reading the existing reviews, I can see how each person's praises or complaints are valid. I've been here once so I can only speak to our experience on a Friday midday when the place was not busy. It does seem like some of the policies are inconsistent based on the reviews. For example, we didn't have to pay for socks since it was our first time. I'm under the impression that it's only a new customer perk. I did see a set of siblings alone in the playroom, with no parent. And I was under the impression you could leave the kids there. I will say though, there was always an attendant in the play room, and in fact, this one in particular was quite sweet and played with the two kids that were alone. So that made me think the workers do watch over the kids. But it could also have been only because it was slow that afternoon. All the staff we encountered were very nice and attentive. The play room is small, which isn't necessarily bad because I can watch my kid, although I am usually playing with her. I agree with another reviewer, there's no place for parents to sit and watch. I did like the art room, which is not usually at other play spaces. I didn't know there was a rule you couldn't use their supplies on the shelf. We helped ourselves to paint, and put them away afterward. A couple of staff came in to check on us while we were in there, and they didn't say anything about our use of the room, so I assumed we could access the supplies. We liked the dress up area, stage with musical instruments, kitchen/dining themed area, and the ride-on play horses most. They tell you that the bathrooms in the play room are for kids only, and they do have slippers for the kids. Which is totally fine. Except I'm going in there with my socks and no slippers, when I'm helping my kid. Would be nice to have adult slippers available too. Overall, it's a cute space. I am disappointed because I initially thought it would be one big space where parents could grab coffee or food and work while watching their kids play, and having the option to interact with their kiddos or let them explore on their own. It's completely separate, which makes it less enticing. At the end of the day, my three year old daughter did love it and asked to come back. It was a nice couple of hours where my husband, daughter, and I had fun together. I think we'd come back again. read more

I would consider my kids and I a play center connoisseur considering the amount of play centers we have been to in the past 5 years. With that being said, this place has a great concept, but it falls short on some areas. I've been here twice, wanting to see if my experiences would change. The play area itself is very small. You can sit in one place and see your child playing around open play area. However, this wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It allowed me to just plop myself in one spot and watch my kid. Pros also include that there's a big cafe area with ample seating that allows you to order from their cafe or bring your own food to feed the kids. Their cafe has stuff like coffee with non-dairy alternatives, pastries and cookies, and flatbread. Now, some of the cons were: 1) There is no place for parents to sit when kids are playing. 2) There are no bathroom slippers (as I have seen at every other play center), making wet socks a huge possibility. Then you're wondering what made your socks wet. 3) The art room teases you with paint and all these other fun items along the wall, but the only thing available to your kid is paper markers/crayons, and scissors. 4) Your kids have to purchase their socks to participate. Regardless of whether or not your own socks have grips already. Though it is mandatory to use their socks, the cost of the socks is not included in the admission price. This is strange to me. 5) The price. Since you can walk into the cafe without buying a ticket, the cafe is not factored into the price. With that being said, it's way too expensive compared to other play centers. It's charged by the hour. Little Elephant's is a similar price...except you can stay at Little Elephant's all day and little elephants has bathroom shoes, parents seating, and a much larger facility. Additionally, when we were there, there was a negative Nancy seemingly following us and setting rules. For example, my guest asked a staff member if she can bring her water bottle into the facility, the staff member said yes. Then negative Nancy sees it and tells her to put it outside. Then while we're coloring, negative Nancy comes in to announce to the people inside the art room that things along the walls are not to be touched. It wasn't necessarily the content that she was telling us, it's her tone! She needs to relax. Although non of it was directed at me, it made me feel like I was a kid in trouble. I truly hope this place makes some changes, because the location is great and the cafe is a nice plus, but if it continues how it was when I visited, I don't see this place lasting very long. Please make changes! I love having my kids play and then nap in the stroller after while I shop. read more

I am currently going through a grievance of the loss of my husband passing away this pass Sunday July 12th 2026. I was feeling down so my twin sister suggested that we go for a walk around the Brea mall. We did a few laps around and came across this cute little store for kids called "Check n play" . I was so intrigued on how the appearance of the store, I wanted to ask about what does the store offer to kids and parents. As soon as my twin sister and I walked in were greeted by two very friendly employees by the name of "Elizabeth and Kaitlyn. I asked Elizabeth to tell me about the store and what it offers to us. She was very professional and very thorough on sharing how the establishment is ran and what it had to offer. She exudes great customer service and very efficient in explaining everything. My twin sister and I are looking forward to bringing our grandkids to experience this fun, kid friendly environment. So if you are ever at the Brea Mall and need the kiddos to be watched while you shop, make sure you stop by and say hi to Elizabeth and Kaitlyn and say FLO sent you . Lol thank you girls again for lifting my spirits for being so , sweet, kind and friendly. God bless you both always in JESUS name. read more

My Son and I had a great time! He can't wait to go back! We also got to enjoy the snack bar on the way out.

This was so much fun! I was really worried that my son would have a hard time, but the workers were really nice played with him for a long time. There is honestly so much for him to be entertained with it, made it easy to drop him off, knowing he would be very occupied. One thing that I really liked is that they text you a link so that you can view the place space live while you work in the café. I really liked having this especially because I wanted to see how he was getting along with other kids or how he was playing and it just gave me a lot of ease, knowing that I could see him while he was playing but also get work done on my laptop. We will definitely be back! I only tried the bagel with cream cheese because I already had a drink. They serve Moon goat coffee. Which I think I've had before and isn't bad. The bagel was a little bit stale. I probably wouldn't get that again. But then again we're not really here for the food? It doesn't deter me from coming again though! read more

I'm not a parent so this review is primarily for their coffee space! I heard about this business and was grabbing lunch in the mall so I decided to stop in to try their cafe which is open to the public. They serve MoonGoat coffee, which I'm a huge fan of and definitely impressed me. I got a Salted Caramel latte and it was delicious! I hung out awhile in the shop and the owner was kind enough to show me around the play space as they were in between playtimes! The cafe and play space were so colorful and cute! You can definitely tell it was thoughtfully designed. I volunteer with kids in the 1-3 age range and the space is so perfect for that group! Will definitely recommend this spot to the parents I know! Even if you don't have kids, the cafe is definitely worth a visit if you're at the mall! read more

We absolutely love this new play area! My 3-year-old enjoys it so much and never wants to leave. The space is new, clean, and most importantly, feels very safe which gives me such peace of mind as a mom. What I appreciate most is how much learning is naturally built into the play. There are so many choices and activities that really support her learning curve while still making everything fun and engaging. It's the perfect balance of play and development. And the bonus? I get to relax too! I love being able to enjoy a good cup of coffee in their lovely coffee area while keeping an eye on my little one. Such a thoughtful and brilliant concept. Highly recommend for parents looking for a safe, fun, and enriching space for their kids! read more

We have visited Check N' Play several times now and we love it! I love that it's for 6 years and under because I don't have to worry about my two year old getting hurt. Because I'm wearing my newborn in a carrier, it's also so helpful that it's facilitated play. There's a lot of things to do. We usually stay the full two hours and my toddler still doesn't want to leave. They have art classes there too which he enjoys. We have yet to try their cafe but we'll definitely try it the next time we go. It seems like there are yummy drinks for the parents and kid friendly food. read more

Check N’ Play - Cafe Area - Indoor Playcenter Near Me - Brea, California

FOOD: No comment since I've never tried their food and coffee. SERVICE: Great! Staff are friendly and helpful. I've seen them assist parents quickly. PLAY: It's a great place to let your kids play in a safe and clean environment. You're allowed to go in with them as well, and it's very reasonably priced considering there's not many other indoor options for little ones who can crawl but can't walk yet. I can see how older kids may need a little more adventurous setting, but this is a great location to try if you wanna stay out of the heat of an outdoor playground. read more

We love this place! Been coming since it opened a couple months ago and we can see it getting better and better with each visit. Around $20 for an hour and $35 for two hours, my 2 year old doesn't stop running and playing the second we get there. The toys are top quality, everything is super clean and well kept, and the space is huge. The little arts & crafts room is perfect, we have many drawings and crafts on our walls at home from here. I've also tried the matcha and other cafe items, and it's better than any cafe nearby. My only gripe is you can't take the coffee into the play area.. maybe in the future there will be a little area for parents to sit and have coffee while watching the little ones play. Love this place! read more

Brought my niece in. She absolutely loved it. Great staff, massive selection of toys/games/things to do and great overall environment. What a great concept! The play area is nice and large but not too big where you'll lose your kids. I'm impressed with how clean it is. The latte was great. Haven't tried the food yet. I had lot of fun with my son today and his first day there he was good and the place is really clean and friendly people!

Colorful nice spot thats fun for the little ones! While the play space is a little small there are lots to do and play with for the kids but I still think the pricing overall is a little steep. Came in and was greeted by a bit of a luke warm person at the front although they were helpful with our questions. 1 hour for the kid, a pair of socks (mandatory), and 2 adults ended up being almost $42. Nice waiting area where our kid colored and we got 2 coffees and a muffin that were $18 total (again kinda steep and the muffin was tiny). The barista was very nice and the drinks and muffin were good though. Inside was bright and colorful and lots of fun stuff for kids to do. There was a leak and a small broken section but everything was pretty nice. The staff member Inside was very friendly and kind when guiding folks away from the leak. Im not sure how much more we'd ever come cause of the price. Definitely do just 1 parent as the $10 additional for another adult is kind of pointless. I like the concept and the space but the price is a bit much for me. read more

Brand new baby indoor play area filled with toys, kitchen area, and play gym that will help develop motor skills while having fun. They have separate rooms for crafts and a cafe for the parents as you enter the store. Services was amazing. They have 1-2 employees constantly supervising and cleaning the area after a kid runs off to another station. The only reason I knocked off one star is because of the food prices. A flat bread, in my personal opinion, should not be $20-30. Maybe it's priced higher because it's in the mall and they just opened, but I'm not too sure about that. Besides that, the price for kids to play is roughly $25-35 PER hour which I don't think it's too bad based on my budget. However, I have also been to many places around the OC/LA area that was around the same price for the Whole day. Again, this place is new and inside a mall, so prices are higher because of that. I went twice already and will go back again. read more

This place was incredible from start to finish. My daughter (2 years 5mo) had the best time ever. It was my first time technically leaving her "unattended"... but tbh -- I was right on the other side of the wall watching the cameras hahah . We checked in, got our bracelets, and I grabbed a coffee while making sure she felt comfortable. My husband stayed with her for a bit, then headed out while I relaxed with my drink and kept an eye on her through the live camera link they provide ! which honestly gave me so much peace of mind. Being able to see my girl while taking a little time to myself was everything. I wish I brought more work to work on! After seeing some reviews I know this might rub some people the wrong way but I really appreciate the strict 6and under rule. Kids all ages play different, it's important we keep EVERYONE safe . The owner was so kind and accommodating, the barista made a delicious vanilla latte, and for snack time shared a cheese flatbread with dipping sauce. the perfect way to start the morning. And the best part? She took the longest nap afterward. Thank you so much for such a great experience! read more

Check N' Play is such a unique place. The best of both worlds merge between a playplace and a cafe, we love going here with our son! The food and drinks are excellent and the cafe is clean, has great outlet coverage, and is a wonderful work/study space! The playplace is impeccable, so clean and well-maintained. The staff are incredible with our son, and he is so excited whenever we tell him we are going to Check N' Play. I bought tickets to my child there (who was 7) and didn't see anything in the Kiosk or waiver that said no kids over 6 is allowed and nothing prevented me or warned me. The attendant didn't say anything anything and just printed out bracelets My kid just went in to playdough and then build some things in the wall. Some negative nancy lady kept following us around and then approached us and said he is over age 6 and must leave. I said he wasn't doing anything just building by himself, and she says fine he can stay there. The minute he left the wall to do something else she approached me and demanded us to leave - he was not allowed to move anywhere other than the wall area because of his age (he wasn't doing anything disruptive at all) We got kicked out because he was 7, no refund offered no nothing. Pretty crazy. It's not cheap either, $30 for 2 hours, or in my case minutes Was told older kids were a liability but when i got there, the attendants played some parachute game and a little girl got knocked down who hit her head on the floor HARD and started screaming and crying, the attendants didn't know what to do. The parents just took her and left. read more

Checked out check n play yesterday with my 1 year old. He's in his wobbly walking stage. We had a blast! I'd say for comparison this place was a lot calmer compared to little elephant. My husband and I brought our kids here around Christmas. The play space is great, but my husband and I had to stay in the play area with no comfortable seating for adults. They do not allow food or coffee in the space - they also do not allow you to sit in the cafe and have drink while your kids play. For the price we paid, we were expecting to have to watch them less and to have a more relaxing experience - like the name of the business implies (Check them in and let them play) They also charged us for grip socks and they have certain start times, so if you want to put your kid in the next start time you may have to wait, or you can put them in the current time and lose minutes of play. We paid over 80 dollars to watch our 3 kids play for about 45 minutes with uncomfortable seating and no food or water. Didn't make a lot of sense to us. read more

The place was very nice and clean, which I really appreciated. Everything looked well kept and safe for kids. One big inconvenience though: they do not accept cash, which I honestly found a little ridiculous. Not everyone wants to pay with a card, and it would be helpful if they had that option. During the time we went, we were actually the only ones there. The staff member working was very kind and friendly, but she stayed very close by most of the time. Super cute play space! The play structure may be smaller than other indoor play places, (maybe that's what some other reviewers mean when they say the space is small, because I found it to be spacious) but I didn't mind because there were so many other great things to play with. I liked that it almost felt like a children's museum - lots of interactive elements, play kitchen, dress up, baby dolls, art room, and things to engineer/build with on the walls and floor. My 3 yo barely even went on the play structure because she was having so much fun with everything else. I was impressed by the quality of all the toys, high end brands in quality materials like wood. It definitely felt like a unique play space experience compared to others we've been to. The cafe is cute, clean and has great options - I enjoyed my matcha. We attended the Mickey & Minnie Holiday Playdate and it was an adorable event that my daughter is still talking about. The tables were festively decorated, the Micky & Minnie entertainment was fun, and the included treats were yummy - the combination of this with exploring the play space afterwards made for a special and memorable experience. Overall I think they have a great concept, I think the supervised play option is really cool - and I think this would be a great place to have a birthday party as well! read more
