    Last Friday a co-worker and I were in Salinas on a job. We decided to go over to the Safeway deli…read moreand pick up some tenders and nuggets for lunch. About once a month we choose the Safeway deli in whatever town we are in. Have never had a problem. That night I started having diarrhea. I went to sleep and woke up feeling even more nauseated. I ended up running into the bathroom and vomiting. The next day I was wrecked. Sunday still didn't feel well. Went to work today (Monday) body felt better but stomach was still not right. Talked to my co-worker and he to got sick. That pretty much assured me that I (we) got some bad chicken. I do want to add this as well. I am a former Chef and as I was standing in line I did notice some not so great food handling. Mainly what I noticed was the cashier was working with food then touching the register back n forth. I know they have a lot of turnover at lunch but that's no excuse to serve food in that way. My whole weekend was ruined and I still don't feel well. I should have listened to my gut when I saw how the food was being handled. Word to the wise. Trust your gut! So you don't throw up your gut.

I approached the employee Luz with nothing but kindness. She looked at me, rolled her eyes and walked away. If it was her break time she could've acknowledged that to me. I worked for a grocery store and I know customers service. Typically when a customer asks a questions you answer no matter how bad of a day you're having. That is in the job description. She basically told me to get lost without telling me. Do not approach this Luz employee she will not answer your question or help you at all.

My incident is as follows: 1) Had to cash a Credit Union check for which I do not have an account with. 2) Attempted to do what the majority would do - Deposit the check into my online personal virtual account via my bank's mobile app. 3) I signed the back and took a picture of front and back as I have done before, but this time it was declined because the system could not verify the check. Who knew that the check needed to be verified during NORMAL WORKING BUSINESS HOURS WITH? This defeats the whole purpose of having an online VIRTUAL Account you think?? I then get suggestions that physically going to my bank or to the Credit Union Bank itself or any check cashing establishment would suffice to resolve this issue. * I ONLY HAVE ONLINE BANK. 4) I called this venue to confirm if this was possible, the woman that answered said "You come here tomorrow" after giving them the info on the check and after they called the credit union bank to try to verify.  Not too polished on the customer service thingy I thought, but alrighty then, sounds like a green light for me to go there tomorrow. 5) Next day, I come and the first person who noticed me walk in,  called me to her window, who so happens to be the same person who I spoke with on the phone the day before. 6) Before the exchanging of "Hello, how are you today", she flipped over my check and heckled out "You sign back of check, we cannot cash....you deposit already right?"  Excuse me but WTF was that accusatory statement? coming from the most untrained, unprofessional, tone defiant voice of a woman? 7) At a loss for words, I just turned on the voice recorder on my phone. 8) She then proceeded to call the Credit Union Bank to verify if my check was legit all the while sputtering out "I don't think we can cash for you but I try ok....cause you sign already...but I will try".   9) Personnel on the phone verified that the check is good to go! 10) The disappointment and hate she then exhibited as if I had done her wrong, said..."I call my supervisor, I cannot cash this check, you sign back and deposit already....but I try ok....Fee will be 50%" 11) At this point, I'm having my out of body experience,  trying to hold back the unleashing of a possible KAREN from within. 12) But me being me, I paused any actions as I still had hopes that this power puff woman would just cash my FREAKING CHECK that I she assumed I already deposited and charge me 50%! But NOOO.....instead....she slapped the check onto the counter and as if by default or life lessons she adheres to, to be away with anyone who is of no use to you.  Since she won't cash my check, there is no money to be made from me.  She said, and I will never forget this moment, in Vietnamese (will translate) while doing the 'shoo..go away gesture' with her hand - "OK, go away....get out of here".  Did I report this incident? I did send an email, but as you can see from the many negative reviews that this "long time established" place has...I don't think they really care or even mind. I had a good friend that worked here when it first opened.  She was great.  My apologies to her and to those who will work here in the future.  All I know is that, there can be times, even with all the right training and discipline, will never be able to completely dissolve the true nature of a person's character.  This Customer Teller Rep Bi-Lingual Exchange Student Person is the reason why EDD was created.  We all pay into the system that will pay her to not work.  I've never ranted this aggressively long before, because aside from the Cash Checking trauma ("looking like i still do fraud" song) The bitterness still lingers.

    Yet another Safeway…read more I always come to Safeway because they sell my favorite protein drinks. I grab at least two of them. Sometimes I will stock up and buy more. A very convenient, quick and easy drink that is a full meal by themselves. Even when they don't have them, I can always count on one of the stockers to check the back for me, and most times they find some for me. I am addicted to their Shamrock farms rockin' protein power builder max shakes. Thank you and I look forward to me next visit.

Not only have so many people have…read moretheir identity stolen because of data breaches with Wells Fargo but their customer service here is garbage. I'm part of the American Legion and we came in about a month and a half ago to get three of us put on the account because two of our guys passed away. We all signed paperwork, brought ss card and 2 id's. We never heard anything back. We had to physically all go back in to sign paperwork because the people here are so incompetent they don't know how to submit paperwork properly so we have to bring in our ID And they still can't locate our information. Their bankers tell us to come in anytime. One guy went in on a Friday another on a Saturday and the people who were supposed to help us out weren't working so they told us Monday. We came in Monday and those people still weren't working. Apparently there's no communication at this branch. I told them it's been over a month and this is outrageous that I'm the treasurer I have to have access to the account to pay bills. So another lady helped me that supposedly was gonna call me by day three and no later than day three and give me access to the account. Been over a week I still haven't heard anything and I've tried calling numerous times and you cannot get a hold of a person.

    I came to Safeway today to purchase California rolls from the deli. When I asked the employee…read moreworking there if I could get chopsticks and soy sauce, she pointed to the area where they are usually kept and said they didn't have any. She had a slight attitude, walked away, and immediately began helping someone else, leaving me standing there with my food. I even asked, "How am I supposed to eat this?" as she walked away, and she repeated that they didn't have any without even bothering to check or offer to ask someone else. A few minutes later, a young man came out from the back. I asked him the same question about chopsticks and soy sauce. He looked where they normally are, saw they weren't there, then checked another spot and quickly found them for me. I thanked him because he was actually willing to help. The difference in service between the two employees was very noticeable. One person didn't want to help at all, while the other took a moment to actually look and solve the problem. Customer service matters, and the lack of effort and dismissive attitude from the first employee was disappointing and disrespectful. I left about 15 minutes ago and felt the need to write this review because experiences like that shouldn't happen.

Every time I've gone into this center the employees are rude, and almost always not doing things the right way. They don't inform you that if you use efc check they will hold your account for 7 days until of course you try to transfer or reloan at another center. So basically you are screwed especially in an emergency situation. Its ridiculous. And they expect you to do all the leg work when it's obviously their job. I think I'll be going to advance america from now on. Especially since I don't have to deal with rude and mediocre employees. I hope corporate monitors their yelp reviews. If not I'll be contacting them!!!

I'm standing here waiting for my money to be issue back to me by check into cash. in order to pay my car note after 2 days headaches. I will be calling the district manager to complain.
