    Today, I went into the branch to make a simple deposit. The check I deposited was a Chase check,…read moreand I was assisted by Oscar Perez. He was very nice and informed me that the check would be placed on hold until January 5. After leaving the branch, I called the 800 number to see if they could assist me, but unfortunately they were unable to help since the check had just been deposited and they could not yet view it. I returned to the branch to speak with Oscar again. Once again, he was polite and explained that a hold had to be placed on the Chase check due to Regulation CC. I let him know that I was already aware of Regulation CC. He then asked me to follow him to his desk. What was most frustrating to me was that while we were sitting together, he did not review how long I have been a customer, the type of deposits that regularly go into my account, or the typical balance I maintain. Instead, he simply told me no and stated that he could not release any of the funds. I asked if he could cash the check or make a portion of the funds available to me, and again his answer was no. He then suggested trying to cash the check to see if the system would allow it. We went back to the teller line, but he was unable to cash the check and had to reverse the transaction and re-deposit it. As a manager, I feel customers should be given options, especially long-term customers like myself. He did not ask why I needed the funds or attempt to find any alternative solutions. This experience was extremely frustrating, as I live in Hollister and needed the funds to pay off my auto loan at a different bank, which I had planned to do that same day. I was not asking for the full amount to be released, only a partial release of $3,000 to $5,000 which I had over that amount in my accounts, but I was repeatedly told no without any attempt to help. When assisting customers, especially loyal ones, the goal should be to find solutions rather than simply saying no. This experience left me feeling that I would have been treated differently if I maintained a significantly higher balance.

Not only have so many people have…read moretheir identity stolen because of data breaches with Wells Fargo but their customer service here is garbage. I'm part of the American Legion and we came in about a month and a half ago to get three of us put on the account because two of our guys passed away. We all signed paperwork, brought ss card and 2 id's. We never heard anything back. We had to physically all go back in to sign paperwork because the people here are so incompetent they don't know how to submit paperwork properly so we have to bring in our ID And they still can't locate our information. Their bankers tell us to come in anytime. One guy went in on a Friday another on a Saturday and the people who were supposed to help us out weren't working so they told us Monday. We came in Monday and those people still weren't working. Apparently there's no communication at this branch. I told them it's been over a month and this is outrageous that I'm the treasurer I have to have access to the account to pay bills. So another lady helped me that supposedly was gonna call me by day three and no later than day three and give me access to the account. Been over a week I still haven't heard anything and I've tried calling numerous times and you cannot get a hold of a person.

I'm just not happy that they shortened their Saturday hours. There is a San José branch on San Carlos St I can go to for emergencies, which is nice.
