My incident is as follows:
1) Had to cash a Credit Union check for which I do not have an account with.
2) Attempted to do what the majority would do - Deposit the check into my online personal virtual account via my bank's mobile app.
3) I signed the back and took a picture of front and back as I have done before, but this time it was declined because the system could not verify the check. Who knew that the check needed to be verified during NORMAL WORKING BUSINESS HOURS WITH? This defeats the whole purpose of having an online VIRTUAL Account you think??
I then get suggestions that physically going to my bank or to the Credit Union Bank itself or any check cashing establishment would suffice to resolve this issue. * I ONLY HAVE ONLINE BANK.
4) I called this venue to confirm if this was possible, the woman that answered said "You come here tomorrow" after giving them the info on the check and after they called the credit union bank to try to verify. Not too polished on the customer service thingy I thought, but alrighty then, sounds like a green light for me to go there tomorrow.
5) Next day, I come and the first person who noticed me walk in, called me to her window, who so happens to be the same person who I spoke with on the phone the day before.
6) Before the exchanging of "Hello, how are you today", she flipped over my check and heckled out "You sign back of check, we cannot cash....you deposit already right?" Excuse me but WTF was that accusatory statement? coming from the most untrained, unprofessional, tone defiant voice of a woman?
7) At a loss for words, I just turned on the voice recorder on my phone.
8) She then proceeded to call the Credit Union Bank to verify if my check was legit all the while sputtering out "I don't think we can cash for you but I try ok....cause you sign already...but I will try".
9) Personnel on the phone verified that the check is good to go!
10) The disappointment and hate she then exhibited as if I had done her wrong, said..."I call my supervisor, I cannot cash this check, you sign back and deposit already....but I try ok....Fee will be 50%"
11) At this point, I'm having my out of body experience, trying to hold back the unleashing of a possible KAREN from within.
12) But me being me, I paused any actions as I still had hopes that this power puff woman would just cash my FREAKING CHECK that I she assumed I already deposited and charge me 50%!
But NOOO.....instead....she slapped the check onto the counter and as if by default or life lessons she adheres to, to be away with anyone who is of no use to you. Since she won't cash my check, there is no money to be made from me. She said, and I will never forget this moment, in Vietnamese (will translate) while doing the 'shoo..go away gesture' with her hand - "OK, go away....get out of here". Did I report this incident? I did send an email, but as you can see from the many negative reviews that this "long time established" place has...I don't think they really care or even mind.
I had a good friend that worked here when it first opened. She was great. My apologies to her and to those who will work here in the future. All I know is that, there can be times, even with all the right training and discipline, will never be able to completely dissolve the true nature of a person's character. This Customer Teller Rep Bi-Lingual Exchange Student Person is the reason why EDD was created. We all pay into the system that will pay her to not work. I've never ranted this aggressively long before, because aside from the Cash Checking trauma ("looking like i still do fraud" song) The bitterness still lingers.
