Orrstown bank is the worst bank I ever dealt with. as a POA for my mother who opened this account…read morebecause they have an office at her retirement home they have been impossible to work with if you want to move money. they will do everything to keep the money in their bank as long as possible. they denied me access to funds that were clearly within the scope of the POA until I threatened to go to the state attorney general. I've set up a linked external account to move money to a higher yield account and whenever I try to move money there's a strict limit on the amount and it posts as "under review" which means you're not earning the interest in their account or the one you're transferring to For days. I'm still considering contacting the state attorney general to investigate their business practices because the games theyre playing continues. I'm thinking their electricity is generated from a windmill and their company vehicles are horse and buggy. Never heard of them before and now I wish I never had.

People's Bank would make my funds available when the government deposited them. Not always on the 3rd, sometimes a day or so before, occasionally 3 days, depending on if there's a holiday in there. ORRSTOWN BANK DOES NOT Orrstown holds my money until the 3rd, no matter what. So they are collecting interest on my money, for up to 3 days!! Nope. Changing banks, and when November rolls around, I will get my funds on the 1st, not the 3rd, and you won't have the interest on my money.

My girlfriend and I have been with this credit union for 5 years, no major account issues, just one…read moreor two small overdrafts that were taken care of in rapid order. This past weekend, due to a forgotten automatic withdrawal we over drafted by 10 dollars. My girlfriends check from Fidelity investment company ended up a few days late, so when it arrived today we immediately went to go deposit it to cover the account balance and have money for food and gas. She had a lawyer's appointment today that was critical she make. When asked if any of the funds could be made available today, we were told that due to the overdraft, the check would have a 3-5 business day hold placed on it. Nevermind that we have been there for 5 years, that the check was for THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS and we merely wanted $100, or that the check was from Fidelity Investment, a well know and nationally recognized company, OR that this was the third such check from them we were depositing, the BEST they could do was release money the following day and hold the rest. We literally BEGGED them for nothing more than $100 so that we could get gas to make this Lawyer's appointment, and we were told quite callously by Andrew, one of their apparently cold hearted tellers, to try and borrow $20 from someone. Suffice to say, once this check clears and all bills paid and we are caught up, the account will be closed. We will NEVER be doing business with this credit union ever again, even if we must resort to using pre-paid debit cards. I would STRONGLY advise against using this credit union. It completely boggles my mind that a CREDIT UNION, not a bank, would have such callous disregard for one of it's members simply trying to get by. So long Heritage Valley, wish I could say it was fun while it lasted.
