I took a small quantity of sterling silver in, maybe 10 forks and spoons. As someone said earlier, do your research, at the time I went in, the store was paying $15 an ounce which isn't great. Before going to Security, I also used a mobile coin dealer who charged a fee to look over coins at my house, but Security gave me better prices and did not charge a fee. I purchased Silver at market value. I would say do your research on what you are doing before getting into the precious metal market. When purchasing expect to pay market value or slightly higher depending on where you go and how much you purchase. Understand that businesses need to make money to stay open. When selling precious metals and coins understand that there is a market price for purchasing and selling. They are not the same. Educate yourself or ask someone who is already invested that you trust. This market isn't for everyone. But I have no problem purchasing with confidence from this business. Sure you can purchase online for a couple cents cheaper but then you wait for it in the mail and have to trust it doesn't get lost or stolen. I prefer to keep my money in the local economy. 1st time coming here, I was told I would be paid top dollar for gold/gold scraps. Found out that was not the case, does not test what kt gold. Says they can tell by the eye... Make sure you test it yourself with a chemical kit. My fault for not testing first. 2nd time, I tested the scrap I had. Told me the same thing guy could tell by the eye..Told him what kt it was told me I was wrong.. Took to other places and confirmed the kt I said first hand was correct. Gave 1 star because place was organized other than that use CAUTION, other places will test gold/scrap with chemical or laser in view..
