I got tired of all of the fees and general bank bs that I was getting from Wells Fargo and the former Metro Bank, so I decided to go to Peoples, a community bank. They have always been spectacular, whether helping me with an overdraft issue or making simple transactions. I actually got my first credit card from the West York branch when I first turned 21. Easy access online banking, a super helpful mobile app, and very friendly and knowledgeable staff members make this the only bank I plan on utilizing for the foreseeable future. They have a wide variety of account options, including club accounts to help save for vacations or the holidays. The best thing about PeoplesBank is how involved with the community they are. Recently they acquired the Revolution Stadium and they host a customer appreciation night, which is awesome! My parents have always been with PeoplesBank, as well, and I remember driving to the York New Salem branch with my daddio when I was but a wee lad. They truly respect and care about their clients and want to earn your business, as opposed to just selling you products that you don't need.

Orrstown bank is the worst bank I ever dealt with. as a POA for my mother who opened this account…read morebecause they have an office at her retirement home they have been impossible to work with if you want to move money. they will do everything to keep the money in their bank as long as possible. they denied me access to funds that were clearly within the scope of the POA until I threatened to go to the state attorney general. I've set up a linked external account to move money to a higher yield account and whenever I try to move money there's a strict limit on the amount and it posts as "under review" which means you're not earning the interest in their account or the one you're transferring to For days. I'm still considering contacting the state attorney general to investigate their business practices because the games theyre playing continues. I'm thinking their electricity is generated from a windmill and their company vehicles are horse and buggy. Never heard of them before and now I wish I never had.
