We ordered a spicy veggie ramen with egg noodle (kale noodle was also an option for the veggie bowl) and a shio ramen. The ramen itself was average and I didn't think it was amazing but not disappointing for a bowl of ramen. I liked that I was able to customize the saltiness of the broth. We also added on an egg to our noodles, but the yolk was less jammy (a tad overcooked) for my liking. The parking lot will probably the biggest nightmare if you've never been to this plaza. The space between the parked cars is narrow and there is a lot of traffic in and out of the area.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is a very famous ramen brand with more than 50 restaurants globally. I feel…read morea bit embarrassed that I haven't been to any of them. Its menu already shows its uniqueness: its signature ramen is shio ramen, which simply means salt ramen. Unlike other ramen restaurants that often promote their strong and heavy-flavoured pork broth, Santouka just says "salty broth." I think it really reflects Japanese culture and spirit. The chef's craftsmanship shows that using simple ingredients is enough to make flavorful food. I ordered the Shio Ramen and an Aji-tama (medium-boiled egg). It still had a very strong savoury flavour and wasn't too salty at all. To be honest, it tasted like pork broth to me. Whatever it was, it made me feel comfortable while having the ramen and after the meal. Meals at other ramen restaurants are usually too salty. Sorry, I am playing with words here, because it is interesting that the "salty broth" isn't too salty, while other broths are usually saltier. The branch in Scarborough is spacious and very suitable for dining with family, friends, or even business associates. The plaza it is in is a very competitive area for noodle cuisine. You can add Hokkaido Ramen Santouka to your radar the next time you go there.

My go to pool place in the entire GTA!…read more Was introduced to TNL Zone just under two months ago, and I can easily say I have since came here on average twice a week. After recently getting into pool/billiards these last couple of months, I've visited my fair share of pool halls. From locations in North York, to Mississauga, to my old go to spot Annex Billiards near Bloor & Bathurst, I can easily say this is my favourite pool hall to play at. TNL is never super busy, and I haven't had a single instance of waiting for a table. Even in the case that I did, a bonus that TNL has is the inclusion of other games including Darts, Table Tennis, Air Hockey, and Foosball. All of their games and pool tables feel pretty new, especially their pool cues that I feel are the best I've seen. What I also like is that the tables all have plenty of room around to be able to make hard shots. I've been to VIP down the street and always felt that there were times I would hit the walls prepping for a shot because there was no space. The employees/owners here incredibly friendly and will remember you BY NAME if you tel them your name. There was even an instance where I was charged the wrong amount one night, and without mention, the next time I visited she told me that she "owed me money" to which she deducted the incorrect amount from the previous visit, that's something that makes me a regular here. They do offer food, bubble tea, drinks, and alcohol. Rates for this stuff aren't the best, but I believe they make up for how cheap the playing rates are. TNL Zone has become a hub spot that I bring all of my friends to now, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to come hangout, maybe even host a date here. You won't regret it.

I was not aware of this spot until my friend recommended it even though I've passed it many times by transit and by foot. I ordered the tasting menu which included an appetizer dish with seasoned cucumbers and root vegetables, cha one mushi (a steamed egg topped with uni and ikura), sashimi, yuzu somen noodles with slices of duck, wagyu and a kaisen don. My friend ordered that with a side order of Ryukyo, Kokoro and Yodare duck. The tasting menu was definitely more than enough food for one person. You will not be leaving hungry. The combination of food was perfect for our first time here, The dish that surprised me was the yuzu somen noodles. It had truffle oil in in, which gave the broth a very nice truffle flavour while being a refreshing dish. The wagyu almost melt in our mouth, it was great! The kaisen don was a great way to finish the meal as i always enjoy a rice topped with fish. Even though we were full, we ordered the strawberry tart dessert, which was from Tsushi Cafe, and a matcha ice cream to share. The matcha ice cream had a very rich matcha flavour which we all enjoyed and think it was definitely worth it. The strawberry tart was nice with the light strawberry flavour. We got there right at 6pm at opening and was able too secure a table for 4, in the future, we should probably book a table to ensure we get a spot. By the time we left, there was probably only a couple of tables for 2 available.
