What we ended up with is literally a piece of art on the front of our house! Moreover, they were incredibly patient with us when it came to the installation--we had to wait for our main front door to come in and be installed, and they were very accommodating of several unexpected delays. A few months ago, I started to work with the Chavez brothers on a custom designed Southwest style set of gates and front door screen door. I brought my ideas to them and we worked out a rather unique design. The pricing was very reasonable considering the complexity. Both Fred and Adrian were extremely easy to work with, anytime I called they answered any questions I had. The gates were installed ahead of promised date and they looked even better than I imagined. The construction of the gates and door was absolutely first rate. Plus they provided me with extra cans of protective finish if needed in the future. This was one of those projects that, if I had to do it over again, I would have no problem doing so with Chavez. I couldn't say that about many other things I've had done by others over the past many years. Chavez Wrought Iron is EXTREMELY professional and does beautiful work. My neighbor engaged their services to replace an old wooden gate. Not only did they expedite her order, they carefully and methodically installed it. They even came back to double check their installation. While next door they agreed to come by and address my loose gate connection. Without batting an eye they drilled new connectors and fixed my gate. NO CHARGE! I contacted Chavez in mid-January and received a bid with a 3-4 week completion date. I immediately sent them my 50% upfront payment, only to have them tell me my project would now take 6-8 weeks. I initially told them such a "bait and switch" was unacceptable and they returned my check. Upon consideration I decided the hassle of finding a new firm, getting new specs, etc. wasn't worth it and the next day (still in January) again tendered my check telling them to proceed even with the delayed delivery. Today, more than a month after the most recent conversation they again returned my check now telling me they did not want my business. I have wasted 2 and 1/2 months of my time dealing with a firm I find disreputable. read more

I ordered new security doors for the front and back of my home. The older ones were very outdated and needed upgrades for most of the moving parts. I met with the estimator and selected a style and color. When the doors arrived for install, they were perfect!. The size was right, color was what I ordered and the style looked better than I expected. The installers were fast and very nice to work with. They hauled away my old doors, cleaned the area and even rekeyed my new locks to the old key so I did not need to redo any locks or keys. I have done business with another company and am now kicking myself for not using Chavez first. The workmanship is superior, the staff friendly and the product exceeded my expectations. Adrian designed and installed two large steel entry gate doors at our property in 2009. Its now 8 years later and they're still working great!!! I'm kind of amazed. Why haven't we had to replace the motors that power the arms? They must have opened and closed those gates thousands of times. A mystery, they're still chugging away. From time to time we've had the battery de-charge which is powered by a solar panel, but that's because sometimes the mesquite gets overgrown and blocks the sun. But the cool thing about Chavez et al is that they always hustle over to the house and FIX whatever needs to be fixed. So I can't recommend then highly enough! read more

I wish I could give a good review but for a company that wont follow through with a simple estimate or even return my phone calls leads me to conclude if this is the way they treat their potential customers at the beginning of a job, I doubt I could trust them with the rest of it. I read the forward about Alfred Senior and its clear the company started out with good intentions/work ethic and that sounds all good! The younger set usually doesn't understand what it takes to continue to run a good business and I hate to think this is what is happening here. Customer service should be number 1 and what a let down..!!! Maybe they are so busy they can cherry pick their work orders but it would only be fair to equally inform their left behind in the dust other customers. I will not be calling them for any other jobs I need done in the future.......that is for sure! They earned this review, honestly! read more
