The Tile and Grout King - Tub and vanity, wainscoting and a bit of the floor detail

The Tile and Grout King

The Tile and Grout King only offers the Schluter-Kerdi shower system (no hot mop/mortar bed). We chose this system because it provides waterproof sheeting (unlike our previous build) and doesn't require weep holes in the drain (which clogged in our previous shower, allowing water to wick beneath the tiles and leave puddles on the floor). The system's reliability depends heavily on the installer's technique, and Tile & Grout King is certified and has used this system for six years. Jordan, our PM for the job, was great. He gave us estimates and timelines, scheduled work within a few days, and completed the rebuild in 2 1/2 weeks. Jordan oversaw the delivery of supplies and removal of old debris (including the previous glass walls, which didn't fit because the profile of the mosaic accent trim we chose wasn't level). He met with the crews and us multiple times during the build to ensure we were all aligned on what was required. We had two crews working on the job. The demolition crew, Jose and Juan, finished the demo work in two days. They were extremely careful with their work, protecting the floors, sinks, and tub, and not damaging tiles on the tub deck wall so that they could be reused. They showed us where the previous install had failed (where the mortar bed was too close to the top of the drop and where the moisture vapor retarder was waterlogged). The second crew, Noe and Carlos, also did a great job. On a couple of days, they worked overtime to keep the job on schedule and to allow a full 48-hour water pan test over the weekend. They made suggestions on tile placement, such as extending the tile to the ceiling, and broadening the access trim to avoid using thin cuts of the 24" tiles. I was impressed by the professionalism of everyone who worked on this project. Everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to. We plan to call them back to work on our other shower in a couple of weeks.

We live in a new house and wanted a company that could deliver high-quality work matching our home's upscale finishes. The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed working with them. However, we were very disappointed with the outcome. We asked for a very thin line along the joints, but the finished product resulted in thick, uneven grout lines that stood out. For the other bathroom's shower pan, it was recommended to use grout rather than caulk. The grout applied was very uneven and looked as if a black crayon had been used. After spending several hundred dollars, we hired another company to complete the work. We requested another specialist from Grout Kings to handle our project, but they were inflexible and insisted that they could do it correctly. What was initially estimated to cost a few hundred dollars ended up costing a couple of thousand. I cannot recommend Grout Kings, as their work did not meet the quality promised online.

GroutPro - After

The other one never called me back. I appreciated the consistent communication from GroutPro and they also did a great job! We had a small shower with mold on the caulking and it really needed to be removed and re-caulked. Kirk was thorough in explaining what he would be doing and why he used the materials he did. He was also helpful in explaining how we can help avoid having so much mold in the first place. He spent several hours making sure the job was just right. I wouldn't hesitate to call GroutPro again for any future jobs. Recommended!

The grout was dark and no matter how much I cleaned, I could never get it to look better. Decided to check Yelp for companies around here with good ratings. Was able to make an appt easily with Evin to get a price quote. Our project took two full days. I was impressed at how diligently Derek and Kirk worked; it looked exhausting! Not inexpensive but you definitely get what you pay for. (Check out our before/after photos) Derek and Kirk worked tirelessly on our kitchen floors and on the second day, Derek spent all day on our two upstairs showers. The process for making the grout look brand new is very laborious and time-consuming but the finished product looks awesome! These guys were lying on the floor, pretty much with a fine-toothed comb, scrubbing the grout and applying sealant, etc. Topnotch work! Kirk was very knowledgeable and helpful. I learned the wet Swiffer is about the worst thing you can use on your tile! Derek was also very skilled and friendly. My only issues with GroutPro are these: * Prepare to wait. I was expecting to get a price quote immediately after the consultation, maybe 1-2 days later? However, after waiting 2 business days and then the weekend, I started wondering if maybe Kirk forgot about us. Then finally on the following Monday, we got the email quote. I guess I was excited about starting the project and couldn't wait! Fast forward to after our project---things were great and we were actually thinking of having GroutPro do more work. Texted the owner for a price quote and thought I'd get it within a week, but since it's been over a month, I'm thinking he forgot about us. So giving customers price quotes faster, as well as following up would be an area that GroutPro could improve on. * The hose that was used for cleaning our tile went from their van into our house. Not sure why they placed the hose on our lawn instead of the driveway but it ended up making some unsightly impressions in our front yard. I didn't really notice them until our neighbors pointed the marks out, thinking someone had ridden dirt bikes all over our grass. Turns out it was from the GroutPro hose. Other than that, we are super happy with our kitchen floors now. The tile and grout looks so much cleaner and brighter. Would recommend GroutPro to anyone looking to regrout their floors or showers. They do great work!

I did this bathroom over 20 years ago, and the grout was missing in areas, cracked in others and overall dirty in parts. Very satisfied with the work that was performed, he is super friendly and explained the work that was done. I felt the price was fair, considering the amount of work that was done. Before payment, the owner, Zach, was responsive, clear, and reassuring. He told me everything was guaranteed. He knew I would be away for a few days, and when the work was finished, he sent two photos and requested electronic payment. I trusted that the photos accurately represented the finished job, so I paid. When I got home, the work looked very different from what those photos had led me to expect. One was taken from a distance; the other showed a close-up of the only section that looked good. Neither showed the problems with the rest of the job. The frustrating part is that the section in the close-up really did look nice. Seeing it next to the rest made the inconsistency in quality even more disappointing. I also learned from my son, who was home at the time, that someone other than Zach had performed the work. That had not been made clear to me. When I raised my concerns, Zach's tone changed. He became rude and was unwilling to address the problems, despite his earlier guarantee. He told me I had "seen the pictures," but those photos did not show the issues I found in person. I simply wanted them to come back and fix the work. Zach said he would call me right back. That call never came, and I have been unable to reach him since. It has been months; I gave up and had others come and fix it. I paid in good faith based on his assurances, and I feel misled. I have since had the work redone. Based on the quality of the work and the lack of follow-through when I asked for it to be corrected, I strongly recommend choosing someone else.
