The steak tips were just okay, but they would have been better with A1 but they only have "Country Bob's"- the lid was dirty (a big glob of sauce) and so was the menu. They were out of the broccoli, (which would have been an up-charge) anyway, so ordered rice instead. It was plain steamed white rice with no seasoning or butter or anything. Mushrooms were likely canned instead of fresh but the onions tasted good. French fries were very salty and tiny, but probably the most enjoyable part of the meal. I haven't been there in a long time, so I was hoping it would be better. I have always enjoyed their appetizers though. read more

About the pickle chips... they're so thin! There's nothing there to crunch, and I barely got any pickle flavor, just the breading and salty fryer grease. I was really bummed. I'd been looking forward to them. The sushi was decent. Not where I expected to find sushi in the first place, but it's what came up on DoorDash, so I took a chance. (Thank you for being on DoorDash, by the way.) The Happy Tuna roll was well-rolled with nice big pieces of spicy-ish tuna. I thought it could have been spicier, so I might have to try one with jalapeños next time. read more

Chatters seems to be going through a change. It used to give off an upscale sports bar vibe, offering burgers, steaks and wings. Now it gives off a upscale sports bar meets P.F. Chang type vibe. It seems they offer much of the previous offerings along with several asian inspired dishes. When I heard that they had Asian Place inspired cashew chicken on the menu, I knew I had to go try it out. The Asian Place was a small hole-in-the-wall nestled inside the old Besse Hotel. As a child, it was one of my very favorite places to go and I have wonderful memories of going there with my grandmother. Knowing that Chatters offered this dish made me excited. When I went with my mother last week, I was not disappointed. The dish tasted much like I had remembered. Our server was very friendly and attentive but the prices seem steep for what you get, although I guess you cannot put a price on memories. read more

I got there signature chatters chicken salad. I had it about a month ago and thought it was pretty good. Today, it was a totally different salad. For $10.99. I would describe it as pathetic. It had lettuce, three halves of a cherry tomato, one teaspoon of chopped cucumber, and maybe a teaspoon of chopped egg. The fried chicken up top was basically four or five chicken nuggets cut in half. What a joke!!!! read more

Food is decent. Not great, but definitely worth the money. Atmosphere is nice and friendly. My waitress Marlee was very helpful with menu questions, and friendly, her service was excellent. Everything can't always be great and perfect but when you get good service, when the food is worth what you paid, and you leave smiling, then it's a place worth returning. I'll be back. read more

Fish Tacos - where are you? Hadn't eaten here in several months but decided we were missing their fish tacos. We went in in the afternoon and asked for fish tacos and told that they were only on the lunch menu which we'd missed by about 15 minutes. Settled for salad. My husband and I have eaten here several times over the years...it is a wonderful place to eat that offers a large variety of foods. Much more than a "bar foods" joint. It's a little on the pricey side for us, just being two of us. But it is a nice splurge every now and then. I was surprised and the great quality of their sushi here, as I have had straight-out-of-the-ocean fresh fish in my life, and it really is fresh! The PHO here is 4*'s to me, but still good enough to come back for. (large enough for nearly 3 servings, too!) The food here is ok but the staff takes the cake. We sat at the bar and the bartender was fun and jovial, we enjoyed her company. I had actually written a good review on my phone but when i got my bill i noticed that they had charged me 15 bucks for 10 wings. We visited Chatter's on a Saturday night with a group of 6 and our toddler. The place was PACKED- at least an hour wait, but we thankfully called ahead. Our server was very kind and attentive and helpful with our hungry little minion. The menu was kind of an odd grouping of items, BBQ, sushi, Italian and wings... just weird, but it all looked good! I got the chicken fettucini which I was very happy with, and my husband got one of the burgers, which was also very good. We had a few beers and the two meals, and our tab was $50 ish. Some of our friends got a few sushi rolls, and they looked really good! This is a nice date night or out with friends location. read more

Fing ourselves in the city again we decided to go back to Chatters again. We tried the bar this time and the bartender was a bit frizzed about a large party,so told us none of the tables were available...we sat at the bar instead. Our food came a little cooler than we would have liked but it was good tasting. I had the sausage biscuit with gravy and my husband had an open faced salmon sandwich. This was the second time we tried Chatters. This time was better than the first. This place is really popular. I'm not sure if the bar is more popular or the restaurant. It's kind of split into two sections. It seemed to me that there were quite a few people taking advantage of the bar, so maybe that is more popular. The employees were all very courteous and our waitress was the most attentive server that we have had in quite a while. She was all over everything. The food did take a little while to come out, but we were visiting with some good friends so we didn't really mind too much. The food is just alright in my opinion. The prices were reasonable. Chatters is just ok in my opinion. I like that it is a local place and supports the local university. The place is clean and the service is friendly, as I mentioned. There is no 'fine dining'...not a single candle in the place or secluded tables. There are a lot of dirty booths and tables and waitresses/waiters so busy discussing their own social plans that they forget to wait on the customers. And if you want real chicken, do not order the chicken strips...they are frozen processed chicken strips...NOT real chicken. Very hit and miss. Some times I'm so happy with the food I got but just as many times I leave disappointed. The first time I had the sushi it was good ... the second time I couldn't even eat it. Since reopening I've been nothing but impressed. Everything from the sushi, to the fish tacos, to the black bean burger has been delicious. The bar and restaurant area are divided in addition to a very nice patio so a number of atmospheres are available to choose from. Usually a good experience, especially their nachos. Our last visit though, for Sunday lunch wasn't up to par. The first thing my wife ordered the waitress knew they were out of, that happens. So she ordered their chimp burger. When it finally came out, it was missing egg and mushrooms. Sent it back to find out a couple minutes later that they were out of those items. Mind you, they were still actively serving a breakfast menu, with egg. Also my sweet potato fries tasted like they were left over and rewarmed. We have had not as bad service other places and had a manager come and ask if they could do anything. Just really dropped the ball that day. read more
