We have passed through Tekamah, Nebraska in route to ball games and other outings but on this excursion The Chatterbox was our destination. A 2021 stop on the Nebraska Passport Program put the brew pub on our radar and we were disappointed the kitchen was not open when we arrived at 4:00 but the menu looked inviting and our waitress encouraged us to return and try the steak bites. Outdoor seating in a garden like setting would be a great spot to enjoy a brew but the 90 degree temps of late July made the air conditioning a better choice on this hot humid day. I tried the cherry ale that was on tap and found it to be sweet and refreshing. A variety of seasonal brews were on tap and I should have asked about a flight option. A large group came in as we were leaving and the kitchen was opening. They were staking their claim on a table and getting ready to enjoy an evening of eats and drinks. A flyer for upcoming special events and bands was posted. Our timing was bad for our first visit. Stay tuned, we will be stopping back and arriving about 6:30/7:00.

A cute little hometown place. Very warm & welcoming. Good selection of local brews. Small, but tasty looking lunch menu.

The selection skews towards IPAs but they generally have something for everyone. Each beer can come in different sizes depending how committed you are to trying a certain beer or just want a 5 ounce sampler. Food options here consist of some pretzel available to purchase but there is typically a food truck outside to help fill your stomach if you plan on staying awhile. The staff are not your typical bar staff but beer enthusiasts who are willing to wait on you hand and foot. The service is really top tier, the beers come out quick and they're always making their rounds to get your next drink.

The inside is very clean and simple - a nice, bright place to have a few drinks and chat with friends. The patio is great too when it's nice outside. All their brews are fabulous in my experience. My favorites are Great Plains Lager and the Cairns Pilsner (I am a fan of lighter beers if you couldn't tell). They have lots of different beer styles from Kölsches to Dunkels, and IPAs to Ales. So you'll definitely find something you like. They sell Kringles flavored pretzels for snacking on, or at least they did when I went last. Love those! Aside from that, they have food trucks that post up there as well, so definitely check their schedule to see who will be there when you want to go. For a local brewery, they have a pretty solid lineup of different brews, so I'd definitely check them out if you're in the Millard area!

It was a busy night and we were a bigger group, but we were still able to grab a table. Just a heads up, there isn't a ton of seating for bigger groups, so we felt lucky to find a spot! There were only one or two servers working, so we were ready to be patient and expect a wait, but they were so quick! I was impressed with their service. I also loved that you can try smaller tasters of their beers before committing to a full one. I had a taster of their raspberry hibiscus saison and a refreshing lager. All the pizzas we tried were so good! I was honestly surprised by how many interesting combinations they offer. The buffalo chicken was my favorite! Already planning to be back.

Why haven't I got my bottom in here sooner, I just don't know. It had been on the radar and because my go to place was closed, I told myself I would give it a try. I am not too much of a fan of scanning menus onto my phone, but I am getting better at it and more used to it now. The lady employee there was very sweet and attentive. She understood how I wanted to just look at the menu to see if I was going to even indulge here. So when I looked at the menu, fish and chips, aka fries, really stuck out to me. She said herself that she ate some earlier today and really loves them here. So I said, ok, let's do this. Let me tell you, I was not at all disappointed! Again, I asked myself, why didn't I come here sooner? The 3 fish cuts were perfect size and perfectly cooked. I like the crinkle fries, they gave plenty. The server lady also told me they had Pepsi drink products. So I asked if Mountain Dew was one of the drinks. It was a yes, so this hooked me to stays well. I had 3 glasses with a good amount of ice so I didn't go too overboard on the soda. Overall, I love this place. Definitely now my most favorite inside this airport. The food and drink was great! The server lady was really cool. They have nice seating, a bar area, and tv's for sports. Will be back 110%!!! Can't wait to try other items. If you ever roll through this airport, it's a must to try this attractive restaurant!

As for the beer, I had one of their Scary Numbers, which was a fairly flat stout, with little to revere. It was drinkable. My brother-in-law opted for the sampler with a mix of seasonal & "avant-garde" flavors. He drank it, and I sampled, but all five were very missable. This is a case where the food carried the beer, instead of the other way around. The food was good, but not great. I did enjoy my Jambalaya, and if we return, would stick to that. I would pass on their crafted beer, opting for another offering, which is kind of sad.
