This Summer we took an Uber to this bakery because I was without a car. We had never tried this place and were hoping this was a good bakery. It seems to be a common theme in the Chattanooga area that bakeries are not what you want them to be. Or perhaps I am just spoiled from living in states that consistently put out better food products and pastries and baked goods than anything that is available here. We tried four cupcakes and not one was anything to write home about. I love the latest fad in cupcakes that is making the rounds everywhere. It is comprised of beautifully decorated cupcakes with the frosting having various techniques used utilizing 'flower tips' that create a rose, a chrysanthemum, or any flower. These cupcakes are all the rage (especially with home bakers) and they have so much exquisite detail. Combined with equally delicious and moist cake in the cupcakes, you've got a winner! You will not find pretty 'flowery-decorated' cakes or cupcakes here, just hastily-prepared lop-sided frosting falling off the not-very-tasty, dry cupcakes. It would seem to me this 'bakery' would do better if they used more butter, more quality ingredients, you know...to result in a better cupcake. I cannot speak for the cakes, cookies or other treats they make here as we did not get any of them. STRAWBERRY: This was the worst one out of all -- imitation flavor through and through makes it difficult to even finish the cupcake. Half of this one sat on the counter until we finally threw it away. CHOCOLATE-CHOCOLATE: Meh, nothing is worse than a dry cupcake. The chocolate flavor was there; it just wasn't good, sort of grainy. The frosting on all cupcakes had very little flavor and especially on the chocolate one. It tasted like shortening. GERMAN-CHOCOLATE: Again, very little flavor in the ingredients that don't make this cupcake stand out on its own. It specifically should be re-name it as as 'German-Chocolate' box mix'. Also distasteful was the coconut on this cupcake; it was just to big and stringy. It was an overall nothing-cupcake. VANILLA-VANILLA: Boring. Nothing special about the vanilla cupcake. Dull. And too much vanilla extract makes for a cloying aftertaste. After being rung up by a guy with the personality of a piece of paper, we first tried to get an Uber back home using their networks. Since that didn't work, after 15-20 minutes of getting no help logging into their network, I finally snagged an Uber using my personal hotspot, no thanks to Chatta-cakes. Four WiFi networks for Chatta-cakes customers to use came up on my phone, but all needed a password plus I couldn't get a signal to use the Uber App from their store. I asked for the password from the paper-personality guy and he didn't seem to understand what the signal was used for. As if no one had ever asked to use their free customer internet. He then told me the password he gave me would work for all four networks. Umm...no, it doesn't work. He iterated many statements such as, "I don't know", "We have never used it", "Our tech said the same password should work for all of them"...but when he saw me frustrated at him because of his lack of caring whether we got a ride or not, he retreated to the kitchen section of the store. As if to say, "Lady, it's not my problem and I couldn't care less, now get out of the store after paying for cupcakes and go wait in the sweltering Tennessee humidity and heat". Also what rubbed me wrong was the 3% charge they assess to use a debit card. BRING CASH IF YOU PLAN ON BUYING!

Tasty Treats, Clever Name, Friendly Owner and Staff! I was at the auction house next door and thought I would get some tasty treats since there was a bakery so close. The name is catchy after watching Cocomelon so much in our houses and hearing the Patta-Cake song so much! They seem to specialize in fancy cupcakes so I got 5 and went on my way. The smell in the truck made me hungry the whole way home so I obviously need to devour at least one with the ferocity of Cookie Monster without the Bon Nom Nom Nom noises. The German Chocolate cupcake was really tasty and rich, which is how I like it. The Apple Streusel muffin was a more healthy alternative with a lessor degree of sweetness, but just enough to make the old mouth water. The S'mores cupcake was devoured but my wife who didn't give me a bite, that must mean she likes it. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake also was eaten later in the night by my wife with no shared sample to speak of... lol They also make cakes here and little treat balls, cookies, brownies and other things. I'm not sure if if they make pastries or breads as well. The owner was a friendly lady, probably slightly younger than me, so maybe that means I should call her young lady? I don't know, I have never really been this old before. They open at 10am weekdays, not site about weekends. Stop in and get yourself a big bite of sweetness! Why are you still reading this? Go get a treat!

Cute cookies that the founder of Thirty-One had made for all of us across the country who are celebrating 10 years with the company!

As a way to celebrate consultants being in the business for 10 years, the CEO of Thirty-One gifts had Chatty-Cakes sugar cookies delivered to us. They were constructed well enough that they made the voyage from Texas to Maine without breaking. Each cookie was individually wrapped, which helped keep them nice and fresh. They were a deliciously balanced traditional sugar cookie, not too crumbly, not too crisp. My kids and I both loved them. They didn't last long in my house! If I'm ever in the area, I'd love to try some other desserts from here.

Love this family owned small business bakery. Their cakes are some of the prettiest I've seen and delicious too. Tons of beautiful cupcakes to try the many flavors. I LOVE the chocolate covered ritz with peanut butter!!! Yum!

Went here on a Saturday and there was a good selection of premade desserts available(cupcakes, cookies, cake bites, etc). We ordered 4 cake bites, and my favorite out of the bunch was the red velvet. I thought their prices were very reasonable compared to many other bakery's. Note that they do charge a 3% transaction fee on credit card purchases.

I've visited Chatta-Cakes several times now and each time I just keep loving them more! This visit blew me away! The shop is decorated so fun for Halloween season! It's my favorite time of the year! I arrived later in the day and so much was sold out. Good for them!! I was worried but both cupcakes I took home were delicious! My husband even said that the carrot cake was his favorite ever! We split each and the other was Chocolate coconut and it didn't disappoint either! I'm going to try to get there earlier because I spotted an empty space for the Italian Wedding cake and that is a favorite for me! I also grabbed some cheddar straw cookies and I ate them before I even made it home! I believe this is a locally owned, possibly family run bakery. In addition to cupcakes, they had other sweet treats for sale including full cakes to order. And locally made face masks! Oh, and the cupcakes are under $3!!

Besides having delicious cookies, cupcakes and pastries, they make homemade themed cakes! They made a tasty red velvet beach themed cake for my mom's birthday. Reasonably priced and on time! I'd recommend calling or visiting in person to order a custom cake. Will definitely be back!

Thank you for making a wonderful cake for my birthday!!! Delicious!!!

Since everything in the Bluff View Art District's hours are limited, make sure you call first to see what their hours are for the day. They have a fabulous assortment of fresh-baked and delicious breads and sweet treats. My favorite is the challah bread. It's so soft, fluffy and very pleasant tasting. Rembrandt's Coffee House around the corner from them also sells their breads and baked goods, so you have a second option if Bluff View Bakery is closed. You have parallel street parking and there is also a private lot beside the store. Delicious adventures await!

Was told have to goto a separate building to find ice. When I arrived at the next building the ice machine was empty. So this is just the beginning! So woke up the next morning and no food or breakfast is located in the three or more buildings. You have to walk about a city block away. When you arrive for breakfast your food is delivered in a cardboard box - which was actually gross ! You will NOT wake up to fresh coffee, orange juice or anything in the common area. You will find all areas are locked except for a very cold room with an actual church Pugh bench in the common area. Next I return to the room and the maids were outside. I asked for extra bathroom towels and was told "can only give you more towels in exchange for your dirty towels. I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). Tony's pasta restaurant (onsite) was a sodium filled nightmare. Tried the pasta- over cooked , the meatballs were unetiable. Not sure where the chef was from but I am certain nobody could ever say anything positive about the menu. Purely disappointed and disgusting. The owner was so mean and rude! View more

One time my parents and I came here after dinner for their gelato, and it was so delicious. We were all very impressed with the consistency and how smooth it was. So I've only had their gelato after all these years. This time I came for brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. It was packed and we got on the waiting list for a table. Wait time wasn't too bad actually. My friend and I both ordered the Hodgepodge Hash and I subbed the sausage for chicken sausage. Everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had come here sooner. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I was pleasantly surprised that the gelato came with two scoops because I originally just wanted the coffee flavored one. So I had a scoop of Coffee + Cream and Pistachio. Our gelato was so tasty. I love anything coffee so this one was good, and the Pistachio one was nice and light. It had a subtle Pistachio creamy taste. Just as before, the gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and super helpful with our food preferences. I have no complaints at all about our experience, and I love every single thing we ordered. I can't imagine a better place to spend Sunday brunch. I look forward to the next time I'm back, thank you!

Mother's Days are challenging, but I think where they hurt themselves the most is that they do not have a method to take reservations or even call ahead seating. Wait times were often in excess of an hour listening to other people waiting to be seated. That's a horrible experience on its face, and the management of this restaurant needs to do much much better or just close on Mother's Day. Next, we'll get to the food. I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the Shakshuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table that ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin. Our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having once been a waitermyself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. Management -I challenge you to do better!!! We will come back during a normal Service day to see if you can perform better, but I encourage you, as owners and managers, to stop setting your staff up for failure, which is what you did!
