We got 4 miniature bundt cakes and their bag deal where you could buy a bag and get a buy-4-get-1-free deal on future purchases of their miniature bundt cakes. This whole purchase came out to over $100. I got a miniature "snickerdoodle" cake for myself and the second I caught a whiff of it, I knew exactly what I was getting into. The $6 mini "snickerdoodle" bundt cake was just a pumpkin spice bundt cake with buttercream icing. The same pumpkin spice cake that you could buy in a box at the supermarket for $2 and make a full sized cake for less than $3 in total ingredient cost. It tasted EXACTLY the same as a packaged cake mix pumpkin spice cake, just with some of the worst buttercream icing I've ever had in my life on top of it. Not to mention the fact that their 8" cakes are $30 and their 10" cakes are $40. I understand that this is a business and it's supposed to turn a profit, but that pricing is absolutely absurd. You could get a decent sized bundt pan from almost any major retailer for a 1-time purchase of $10-20 minimum and make your own at any time for a fraction of what they're charging. Rembrandt's Coffee House around the corner from them also sells their breads and baked goods, so you have a second option if Bluff View Bakery is closed. I asked for extra bathroom towels and was told "can only give you more towels in exchange for your dirty towels. I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). Tony's pasta restaurant (onsite) was a sodium filled nightmare. Tried the pasta- over cooked , the meatballs were unetiable. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the Shakshuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table that ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin. Our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having once been a waitermyself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. Management -I challenge you to do better!!!
