The Tipsy Elf - Entry/first room looking like a cheap holiday window display.

I thought this Christmas pop up bar was really cute! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect,…read moreespecially because we were going to Greenfield for it. I ran the Greenfield Glide 5k when I was younger, and that was pretty much all I knew about Greenfield. We drove down the street that was lined with lit up Christmas trees and saw Hough's Bar on the corner. The pop up was located right next door. We found a parking spot easily and headed in. The space was exactly what the photos and videos looked like. It was super cute and they had lots of fun backdrops for photo opps. The workers were dressed up like elves, and the girl running it was so cheery and excited. She checked our tickets and IDs, and gave us a glass of mulled wine. It was piping hot and very strong. I watched her pour it into the crockpot so you could tell it was fresh. I never drink mulled wine so it was a nice festive treat. We took photos in front of the trees, gifts, on the couches, etc. They had holiday music playing, but I wish it would've been louder. It was a quiet atmosphere and people found tables to stand by and chat. I expected this bar to be jam packed, but there were very few people there since it was timed. They had printouts of emojis that were Christmas movie riddles on the center table. If you answered all of them you could take your sheet to the bar for a prize. Their cocktail menu was fun and holiday themed, of course. They also had dessert shots and non alcoholic hot chocolate. We stayed for about an hour and enjoyed our time there. I would definitely go back if they do it again next year!

Upon arrival, you're given 1/2 small plastic cup of mulled wine that tasted almost medicinal from the cheap booze. Decor looked nothing like the advertising images! There were maybe 4 places to sit and the people who arrived early claimed them and never moved. Cool. Now, as for the bar part... Limited menu, but that was fine because drinks looked interesting. We ordered 3 cocktails ($15 each) and one person ordered a beer (only 2 to choose from), which he was informed they were out of and didn't know when it would be replaced...This was at 3pm on a Saturday. Oof. Cocktails were served in those teeny tiny plastic coupe glasses--the kind you could get at Fineberg's in the strip. They hold mayyybe 4 oz? They tasted fine, but for $15, I expect more than 4 oz. There were silly games on the table, like writing down the "naughtiest" thing you'd done that year. You can choose to participate or not. Fine. But then, one woman dressed as an elf gets on a microphone and announces we're about to do karaoke--whether we want to or not. She says she will shove the mic in your face and you have to sing. Ummm, I did not pay for tickets to get in and overpriced elf-sized cocktails to be forced to do karaoke at 3pm. Ugh. We left after 15 mins total. Do not recommend. Avoid this gimmicky place that's just taking your cash. Many better Christmas bars out there!

At Taco Cat, the two owners, husband and wife Chris and Roberta, and their employees serve New Mexican-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Examples of foods are huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy, chicharrones, tacos, chicken, burgers, and salmon. A bar serves cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, and sodas. My husband and I ate one dinner here. Chris, Roberta, and our waitress provided very friendly and timely service. I enjoyed the fun interior design with a vintage floral couch, CRT television, VCR, and landline telephone. I really liked our Rosemary's Baby mocktail, tortilla chips with bleu-cheese queso and green and red salsas, chicken quesadilla, pork taco, and quatro/cuatro leches with horchata. My carne asada and my husband's steak taco were cooked well-done rather than medium so were not pink and tender. My husband did not like his chicken taco.

I got the biscuits and gravy which came with a fried egg. We also had the blue cheese queso which was maybe the best queso I've ever had. The place itself is really cute. I loved the decor. There is lots of seating at the bar and another dining area in the adjoining space. The owner stopped by and checked on us a few times which was nice. He even brought us some extra chips! So nice.

You can find Tony's pizza at Maggie's Farm Distillery for Friday happy hour 4-6 pm (or until sell out) where he features specialty pizza by the slice. One slice is equivalent to two square slices. There is always a vegan, vegetarian, and pepperoni option, plus two specialty pizzas rotate weekly. Some of our favorites were the gyro pizza, margherita with smoked mozzarella, pulled bbq jackfruit with red onions and smoked mozzarella, meatloaf pizza, and more. The pizza is stacked high with toppings. The slices range from $5-$6 dollars and are heated up and delivered to your table quickly. My boyfriend, family, and I have become regulars at Maggie's, and look forward to this pizza every week. I probably wouldn't have gone to Thunderbird specifically for BBQ since I am pescatarian, but now that I found this great pizza I want to try more from Black Sheep BBQ (specifically the fried smoked mozzarella balls). Get to happy hour early especially if you want a slice of the specialty pizza. Special thanks to Tony for setting a slice of zucchini pizza aside for me last week when I was late to happy hour. :)

This popup spot is directly on the bike/jogging trail, with free parking. You will get beautiful views of the Ohio river and sunset. There is a stage where occasionally there's live music. Beverage selection usually includes beers on tap, some non-alcoholic items, and ciders. Food is often BYOF or a food truck. The only shade is under the tents so when it's hot, it's pretty sweaty. It is a fully gravel lot, and porta johns. Although they have standard hours, if the weather is bad or unsafe (winds/storms) they will close so check social media before heading down. This is also only open generally April - October (give or take plus some special occasions) so just keep an eye on the season and forecast. Always check East End's social media before heading down. We love the simplicity of this spot. No frills, waterfront drinks, fully outdoors. We have enjoyed coming here since roundabout opened it several years ago. I'm glad the roundabout owners found a good home for it when they left. Finally, east end brewing, if you're reading this please bring revive that proprietary roundabout Ginga Wheat recipe.... I'll love you always forever (and will sing about it in a Donna Lewis voice too)
