I have had unauthorized monies removed from my accounts (Verve did replace the money), I was unable to open a new account because no one in the branch could do that. When I did get the account open, they didn't have the automatic deposit set up correctly. I recently travelled out of the country and tried using my Verve debit card. I found their exchange rate to be average, but was very surprised to find a "foreign cur con fee"! You will not see this fee on Verve's webpage "Consumer Account Summary" page! The other credit union I use doesn't charge anything for using my card outside the US. I strongly suggest you look at and compare fees on Verve's webpage "Consumer Account Summary" page! When you call Verve they will tell you "This is Verve, A Credit Union". If they didn't tell you this, you may very easily confuse them with a bank. If you read the reviews here you will notice the number of people who refer to Verve as a bank. You will find all the fees and rates associated with the big banks. If you really want to tell if it is a credit union or bank, ask to see the president, Kevin Ralofsky. I tried twice and he was never able to see me. Never had that problem when Pat Lowney was president!

    I moved many accounts here because I believed they cared about their members and I would have a…read morebetter experience than a bank. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. They've had two instances when they had an opportunity to resolve issues for me and didn't. Also, the terms on my MC are really aggressive, much more than the other credit union I'm a member of and I don't see how that helps their customers. Plus, getting past the security screening is sometimes really infuriating, they ask you questions you have no way of knowing even though you're the account holder, and then treat you like a criminal because you can't remember which brand you went to last time. On another day I might have given CFCU a 2, but they just really ticked me off by giving me misinformation on the phone about claiming a payment that was only 11 days late. They made me think it was going to harm my credit, but it is not. I thought all credit unions cared about their members. This one? Unfortunately, not so much!!

I have been a customer here for over 20 years and could not even get an update or a call back about my checking account. It has taken over a week for any kind of answer and I still did not receive a resolution.

I just refinanced my truck through these yahoos' after the 1st month I wanted to change payment dates to match my old. They told me I couldn't, just to pay it with in the 10 day grace period. Never had a problem anywhere else to change a date. It becomes a greater issue later on. Next issue I have always done electronic transfers for payments. I get a nasty gram saying I am behind on my payments and there going to the next step. I go in person and they tell me I am behind $484, I explained no way in heck, all payments have processed, I was completely baffled. She tells me oh $4.84 she tells me the money wasn't there and they took what they could $347 vs the owed $351. I explained it's not my fault your taking out the wrong amount. She told me to settle down. I found out that they never received the insurance information and tacked on a new insurance to cover their collateral. My agent faxed them the info proving I was compliant. They still added there insurance. Two months later I get a nasty gram saying I am behind on my payments and there going to the next step for $4.85. I called my insurance agent again, she kept all info on who and when she talked to. I thought the issue was taken care of. I received another nasty gram for $7.87 another month later and they stated there reporting my payments late to the credit bureau. WTF? This is the third time I have to involve my awesome Insurance Agent from Rose Roberts Insurance. After all said and done Capital wants me to drive 30 miles 10 miles in gas to pay $7.87 which is cleared and not my fault. Oh yeah my payments are still reflected as late and they wont change that.

    First of all their fraud protection service Shazam is the worst fraud protection service I've ever…read morehad to deal with every other transaction I made with my debit card was flagged for fraud freezing my card and my account leaving me At the store not being able to pay for equipment or supplies until I called the bank and Shazam to have the freeze lifted this would be a great service if they actually paid attention to what the charges were four or where they're being made any ATM transaction was flagged any transaction for mobile pay was flagged any online order I tried to make was flagged it was to the point where I was calling the bank and Shazam every day just to get gas in my company vehicle I had their numbers memorized because I called them so much due to their inability to recognize normal day-to-day transactions for the longest time I was able to cash a check no matter where it was from, and it would be available the same day which was nice until I had a customer get a pressure wash one day and then she decided to do windows the next day so I had 2 check to deposit. this elderly lady (90 years old) forgot what she wrote the checks for because she didn't write it down in her books she ended up cancelling the checks after speaking with her she remembered and apologize then wrote another check after depositing the check they put a 10 day hold on which I understand but then after that every single check I deposited was put on a 10 day hold even checks from the same credit union. this went on for months leaving me in the position to cash checks somewhere else just to deposit them in my account I understand holding a few checks to make sure we're back on good standing due to the one time but after 30 checks or more that cleared no problem I was still not trusted even though it wasn't my mistake that caused the cancelled check and it was fixed the same day they still treated me like crap. The problems didn't stop there after I switch to a different bank and stopped using them, they started letting fraudulent charges go through that I had already flagged causing the account to go negative which they never let happen before. Any charge that was more than what was in the account was denied but now suddenly, they go through ever since I stopped using the account? I let them close the account. Instead of fighting the balance and fraudulent charges I just decided two pay the negative balance I called to pay them over the phone for the negative balance, but they refused to take my new debit card over the phone which makes no sense to me how does a financial institution not have the capability to take a payment over the phone. I am a busy guy I don't have time to stop at a bank to pay a balance that should never have been overdrawn especially with the supposed overdraft protection they put on my account when I opened it that was clearly stating they would not let my account go negative they would just decline any charge that was more than what I had in the account now I have to take time out of my day lose money by not being at a customer's house working and also paying them for this negative balance they failed to deny after the account was left inactive it's interesting how their fraud system flagged every charge that was made on a day-to-day basis even after several calls telling them the same charges are what I need to spend every day but then when an actual fraudulent charge goes through they don't catch it and also it's ironic that they offer the overdraft protection to avoid an overdraft and a negative balance but yet they let the account go negative after they seen the activity stop I wouldn't recommend using this credit union. If you want to be disrespected lied to and being on the phone with them just to get gas, then this is the bank for you.

    In my past experience with banking institutions, there really has been no "good" to speak of, only…read moredegrees of bad. As such, my opinion of bankers over the course of the last several years has made them rank right up there with lawyers and politicians as people who I generally despise. I used to bank at Commerce Bank before I moved to Oshkosh, but after finding out US Bank was just about the only bank with national representation across North America, I decided to open up an account there. In all honestly, the US bank locations bank in Kansas City where I am from were just as bad as my experiences with Commerce Bank. It just goes to show you that the particular branch you happen to bank at makes all the difference in the world as the folks at the Main Street, Oshkosh location have been fantastic in taking care of my banking needs. Most of the staff knows me on a first name basis and have always been willing to go the extra mile to make sure I am taken care of. Finding a good bank is about like finding a good automotive mechanic in that once you have found one you can trust you stick with them. These folks have earned my business.

I paid off loan on June 14 and payoff center cannot confirm lien release has been processed or mailed. Their answer? Can take 10 business days. Really? Is this service? I will never deal with them again.
