In June & July of 2025 over $257K was stolen out of our saving and checking account with Chase through Zelle transactions. Since January, 2026, when I learned of the theft as my husband of 34 years had died in December, 2025, I began to research what happened. Bottom line, hackers got into our account at Chase and impersonated Chase and took over the account. They called my husband repeated during this time representing Chase Fraud Dept. and while my husband believed he was working with Chase to prevent fraud, it was the impersonators. They called him, sent him text messages, documentation on Chase letterhead, agreement to settle the fraud all the while stealing our money. Chase can only investigate Chase, which really is a joke. The number one bank in the USA with billions of dollars and they have ZERO security protocols for Zelle transactions. So don't use Zelle! All you have to do is look at our account and clearly see that these Zelle transactions were fictitious-- new names added in June and July when the money was being stolen. A wire transfer was done and Chase still let it happen and when my husband finally realized he had been deceived he went into the bank and spoke to his advisor only to be told nothing could be done, but if the financial advisor had looked at the statement, he may have been able to track and trace the wire transfer for $25K--and even get on the hackers. But doing nothing but claiming cash to cash transactions, nothing can be done, IS NOT TRUE! SO CHASE has done nothing in the past 4 months, but state they have investigated and the user name and password match their system so they are not at fault. Now Chase is sending out notices to customers stating this is happening beware. Why send out a notice if it is not happening--because it is and was done to me! This is how and why big business, in my case, Chase avoids responsibility. Who is holding them accountable, certainly not themselves. THEY ARE AT FAULT and I will use every resource to stop with this injustice!
