Chas, chas, CHAS! Where have you been hiding!? Oh, that's right, in Palo Alto... literally a few miles from me. I have been going through some pretty rough times with my husband, so I knew I needed to find a good counselor/life coach/therapist person. I asked around and got a recommendation from a co-worker to see Chas. She emailed me his info and I looked him up online. He's an intimacy, relationship and life coach. Exactly what I was looking for. I needed help with all those things! I emailed him that day and he got back to me within an hour! Awesome. We had an initial call where I told him what I needed help with and he suggested we meet. He has pretty awesome hours and I had an appointment to meet with him literally that day! He works out of his apartment in Palo Alto. He has a wonderful little dog, Brandy (hope I'm spelling that right). There's a office room with comfy chairs and tissues right where you need them! We basically got right down to business and I told him my whole story and then he let me know what he thought the real issues were. Cut right through all the bs. We tend to make up stories, but underneath it all are the real issues. I cannot believe it took him less than 10 minutes to tell me exactly what I needed to hear. I've seen quite a few counselors over the years, but no one is quite like Chas. He has an incredible ability to read people and see the real problems. He genuinely cares about his clients and really wants you to succeed. In the last 3 weeks I really feel that I'm now on the path to loving myself for the first time in my adult life. It's the greatest gift anyone could give another human being! I have no doubt that by the time my work with Chas is done I will have reached my full potential and be able to appreciate people and life more than I ever have. I don't even really have the words to describe how grateful I am that my co-worker recommended Chas. All I can do now is spread the word too. Chas is amazing. If you're having any issues whatsoever he is the guy you should see. You will not be disappointed! I encourage you to take the chance and, with Chas's help, be the best you can be. This is a review based on one session with Chip. He is very good, I'm happy I found him! I went to him because my heart was aching over a guy and a situation I felt very badly about. I also had other issues surrounding dating and complicated relationships that we discussed. When looking for someone to counsel and help me, I was specifically looking for a male counselor because I wanted a man's perspective. Chip gave very good insights and I had several "a-ha" moments during our session. He helped shift me away from my negative perspective of what I was going through. I like his more casual style and that he is very direct and tells you what you need to hear. I appreciate that I could talk to him openly, vent my frustrations and not worry about confidentiality. When I left our appointment, the tightness in my chest due to my sadness was gone and my spirits were lifted. I got exactly what I was looking for, good solid perspective from a man so I could understand my situation better. Chas helped my partner and I break through some difficulties we had been having that we seemed to be unable to resolve on our own. Chas is insightful. If I could give him 6 stars I would. Chas has a way with people that gets them to see themselves clearly and make simple shifts in thinking and actions that result in more joy in life. He listens from a non-judgmental place and cuts through the muck and stuck places ..... and he pushes you (or invites you to stretch.....) when you need it and can handle it. He trusts your inner wisdom even when you may not. I have called Chas when in the depths of confusion, emotion or a stuck place and always feel better, less confused, more confident and self-directed when we are done talking. Chas is a really nice guy. But, $180 for 1.5hr session in his crammed apartment is a bit overpriced to me. He also didn't remember our names the 2nd time, nor did he ask about our 'homework' that he had assigned. (Update) I have seen Chas as a personal life coach for the past 20 years. He is very good with listening and understanding peoples needs. He has assisted me with many of my Lifes struggles. I give him credit for my being able to get married and have a wonderful Daughter. Also I have been able to address many of my fears and struggles that have blocked my life from moving forward. Recently he and I had some differences/conflicts. Instead of blaming Chas, I took it as a learning opportunity to work through some of my issues around conflict resolution. Chas was open to hearing and clarifying my perspective. He also shared his perspective on the situation in a caring manner (a good behavioral model for me). The situation was resolved and I learned some new skills. Currently her is assisting me with learning about my feelings and boundaries.
