I am so very thankful to work with Clare because I know I can "go there" with Clare…read more "There" is exploring all of the parts that comprise who I am. "There" is bringing her the stories and thoughts that I don't share with my friends or family. "There" is living out an on-going grieving process for my father, ambitions for my life, disappointment in relationships, stresses in career, existential angst about death, etc. And when I'm "there", Clare is walking me through it all with no judgment, and riding my emotions alongside me. Once I'm done getting it all out, she'll help me unpack the message and we'll come back from "there" to "here", together. "Here" is where Clare encourages me to be, even when I don't want to believe it. "Here" is where I'm compassionate to myself, others and living in flow. I'm sure Clare will help bring you back to "here" as well. I, like you, was once looking for a therapist on Yelp. I found Clare and didn't need to look again.

She has a rare ability to listen while actually being able to respond and provide good insights from her experience to help you grow through what you're going through so to speak. I was experiencing major emotional roller coasters and found her at a particularly good time to help me sort out my thoughts. I believe in her cause for anyone trying to improve themselves or speak about things in a private setting.

I came across Annie Wright from the positive reviews on Yelp and Google. She said she did sliding…read morescale sessions based on income, and her minimum rate was $250 per session. I tried her out because she did EMDR, which I read about as useful for processing trauma. We did a thorough intake(and many intake forms) where Annie confirmed she would be a great fit as my therapist. Yet after a few sessions she suddenly said she lacked the expertise to continue providing care, rendering all the time and money spent for the previous sessions a waste. I asked her for a refund. She tried to make me sign a lawyer document. It turns out she got upset over a cancellation(a cancellation she agreed to personally cancel) and decided to schedule another session just to charge me the extra money and terminate the therapy relationship.

Disappointing experience with Annie. I contacted Annie based on the positive reviews but my…read moreinteractions with her showed that she was a cold and unapproachable therapist. She upsells and overcharges, and her fees seem to go more towards marketing than her actual practice. She spent a lot of time talking about how great of a saleswoman she is. It appears that she cares more about running her business and exploiting her patients to make money than helping her patients. If you're in search of a therapist, you're much better off looking for a more affordable and less money-hungry practitioner who genuinely cares about their patients. There are many of them in the Bay Area and with some effort you'll find one. Good luck.

I had been to therapy before, but not for such a prolonged amount of time. Dr. Brown has been an integral part of my emotional and spiritual recovery. She is warm, focused, and invested in her patients' healing. She uses EMDR which is necessary/helpful when dealing with trauma. It can be a frightening process, but helps get to the heart of what's causing the trauma. I always felt safe in her care, and would recommend her to anyone looking for some really deep therapy. A couple things to note: be sure to review her cancellation policy. And she did not accept my insurance, so treatment can hit your wallet pretty hard. But it's worth it.

I found Diane and it was an immediate blessing. She had me start EMDR to help with the PTSD from the trauma of the events and I was amazed at how quickly and thoroughly this process helped. She not only extremely helped my son but our relationship too. My son was with her as a child and now as an adult. He graduated from both and I pray that if he's in need again she will be available. She helped us communicate better and understand each other too. He suffers with many mental health obstacles, was diagnosed with autism disorder and disassociation disorder and more. There was an issue that was one of the greatest burden in our relationship. She got to the route of it and was able to get it resolved and see the truth. I'm so deeply appreciative to all her help. I would recommend her 110+% to anyone! She is devoted, understanding, truthful, honest, and there for her clients which is something I haven't seen with many others. Thanks so much Dajenay for all your help and many blessings always!!

She will reflect on what she has learned about you, and with insight and great skill, make sense of your troubles. She does it with such compassion and effortlessness that a seasoned grandmother of a big family could learn from it! She is quite versatile; Jamie's therapeutic methods are very powerful and healing but she can also give down-to-earth, practical advise for "real life" situations. If you had a particularly tricky problem she can even recommend you to specialists because she is connected with other therapists. Her manners are warm and friendly, you feel like you are in good hands during your session. I have tried to go to therapy before but often it felt like I was having my teeth pulled without anesthetics. In contrast, Jamie makes you feel like you are having tea with a friend who cares about you a lot! Her office is clean and neat and is in a good part of town. She is fairly flexible to make appointments and asks for a reasonable fee well worth spending. After every session I came away with sighs of relief; Jamie's therapy will enable you to heal yourself and feel good about life.
