Very disappointing experience. I was referred by my general dentist for an implant, but the first…read morething I was pushed to do was a sleep test costing over $300. I was then told I would receive an estimate. The estimate I finally got was over $6,000 with my insurance, and I assumed that price covered the entire implant treatment. When I showed the estimate to my general dentist, they suggested it might be only for the first stage (extraction and bone graft). I called the clinic to confirm, and they said that was correct--the quote was just for extraction + bone graft, not the full implant. I asked for a comprehensive estimate for the whole treatment, which I think is a reasonable request--especially for something this expensive. I called multiple times, left voice messages and emailed, but never received a response. Because of this, I decided to go with another recommended periodontist. When I showed the new doctor that estimate, they were surprised--"Just extraction and bone graft for that much?" This second clinic has an excellent reputation and many cases, and I was able to get the entire implant treatment for under $3,000--about half of this clinic's quote just for the initial stage. Most importantly, unlike Dr. Moskowitz's clinic, they answer the phone promptly and respond kindly to messages. Finally, I was surprised to receive a bill for a March visit recently (It's been 6 months!). If I had actually proceeded with treatment there, I would understand the charges and would be willing to pay. But after no replies and no comprehensive estimate, I had to find another provider. Charging me for that visit feels unfair--it left me wondering what that appointment accomplished, and it ended up being a waste of time and money.

I was told all was healed and to see my regular dentist for crown measurement in December, 2025. My dentist, after taking an x-ray, informed me that the implant had failed, most likely early on. My dentist and I have requested my records from this office - via email, verbally in person, voicemail and certified mail. Zero response. I returned for assessment in February 2026. X-rays and a CT scan were done. The doctor was abrupt, did not share image results, gave no explanation and stated that an exploratory procedure was needed. I requested a cost estimate for the exploratory procedure, as insurance will not cover a redo. Again, no response. I realize that implants can fail, but such unprofessional behavior is not acceptable.

I was seen by Dr. Torres, who evaluated me and told me I needed to extract five teeth and replace them with implants and bone grafts. She said she couldn't provide a quote or treatment plan at that visit and instructed me to return in two weeks to see Dr. Jose for his input. She even advised me to cancel a deep cleaning I had already scheduled with my regular dentist so I did, even though I really needed it. Two weeks later, I showed up for my appointment with Dr. Jose. They brought me back, made me wait a long time, and eventually an assistant came in to tell me that Dr. Torres had completely forgotten to inform anyone that I was supposed to see him. The only thing she left at reception was a treatment plan for extracting tooth #19--nothing about the five extractions, grafts, or implants she originally told me I needed. The assistant said Dr. Torres would call me that day to apologize and clarify and she never did. I chose this center because of the glowing reviews, but my experience was the complete opposite. It was unprofessional, disorganized, and a total waste of my time. Time I could have spent getting proper care somewhere else. After this ordeal, I went to The Mugford Center, and the difference was night and day. They were professional, responsible, and actually followed through. I ended up getting all the treatment I needed there without any of the runaround. The thousands of dollars I was prepared to spend at Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics ultimately went to The Mugford Center instead. A place I recommend 100%.

Prior to going to this office, I'd always associated going to the dentist with being treated like I…read moream invisible and then, at the end of the appointment, being bullied into treatments. This office is the exact opposite. Linda treats you like a person the minute she sits down with you. She tells YOU what she sees during the cleaning vs talking straight terminology with the hygentist and ignoring you. She will be honest at the get go and doesn't hold "bad news" until the end of the visit like most dentists. She also doesn't bully you into treatments, especially with the "You must get this treated ASAP or your teeth will rot out instantly!" line that so many dentists try to use to freak people out into getting things done. If something isn't deadly urgent, she doesn't make it out that way. All in all, I used to get really stressed about the dentist and now, it's no big deal. I have to get something fixed after today's appointment, but the way Linda presented it made me feel okay about it versus other dentists who have almost tried to make me feel guilty despite being an avid brusher. To be told, no your bottom number is 103 and needs to be 99 on an inaccurate wrist cuff and told they would treat me. Over a decade we've spent over 30k there. But no mas. When I arrived for my consultation, I sat in the lobby for 10 minutes and was treated to a front row seat of the front desk staff and the doctor gossiping about the patient who just left. I was pleased once the conversation finally became about my visit. He seemed extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to me in detail. I was told to call back when I had received my explanation of benefits from my insurance company to schedule the procedures I needed. I received the information from my insurance company and called. I did not understand the coding involved and was told "the first 2 procedures will be covered but we need to submit additional information for the 3rd". I scheduled my first two procedures and was told they would take care of the rest in the mean time. After missing and rescheduling my first appointment (which was due to a medical condition, but I was still charged $75), I received a voicemail to confirm my next appointment a few days beforehand. I did not have a chance to call back that day before they closed due to the fact that their office closes before I get off of work. Today I received and outright NASTY toned voicemail stating "I definitely needed to call them back to confirm". Funny enough, when I checked my mail when I got home today, I received a letter from my insurance company that clearly explained that NONE of the procedures would be covered. After a quick phone call to the insurance company, I learned that they had forwarded the denial to this office WEEKS ago.
