Believe me I have looked. My Dog was 12 and had a tumor and we had to put him down. It has been awful missing my dog but the vet has been nothing but compassionate. They said they would bill me instead of making me pay while I was sobbing and when I recieved an envolope in the mail thinking it was a bill it was a card from the vet telling me how sorry they are about what happened to my dog. They still have yet to bill me. Today I went back for my cat because she had some scabbing on her neck and when I paid they told me what the balance would be for my dog and informed me that they made me a paw print for me and I can get it in a couple weeks. I got in my car and cried! I just was putting together some scrapbooking stuff for my dog and was so mad at myself that in 12 years time I never took a paw print from my dog and they did it for me. I love this vet hospital. I can not believe how far above and beyond they have gone for my dog and I.

My recently adopted and timid/ sometimes scared Border Collie mix has thrived in Marisha's classes…read more We've taken doggie manners (basic obedience), doggie manners pro, tricks class, and agility so far. My dog has loved all four, and so have I! I've noticed such a difference in my dog. When we first started classes at the end of summer last year, or even just a couple months ago, I never thought she would/ could do some of the things she does now. Classes have helped tremendously with her confidence and have taught me so much about how to handle situations that can be scary for her. I truly can't recommend discover pet training highly enough. If you have a pup that needs manners, or the world's best behaved dog they will love and benefit from these classes!

We have taken most all of her classes. She offers many obedience classes, trick classes where you can earn trick titles, agility, a walking manners class, a nose work class as well as a few others. She is so good with Ava. Her method of training is positive. We don't use shock or prong collars. Marisha is always available to answer questions. Check out the Facebook page.

Most groomers have come across a dog like this in their careers. His 1st groomer did well with him but is in South Carolina. His 2nd groomer told us that if had been her dog that she would have taken him to be put to sleep. When we explained our situation to a 3rd potential groomer, she told us she'd charge more with each nip or bite. We were heartbroken to think that nobody could deal with our little poodle. He only weighs about 6-7lbs! We ended up trying to groom ourselves which left him looking not so good and us frustrated. That was until our neighbor pulled up with her sporty little schnauzer with a snazzy new haircut. We told her of our woahs and she recommended Close Companion. We were astonished that the groomer reported that the dog behaved pretty well (we implored her to be honest). He looked GREAT and he knew it strutting around in his new haircut. Even though we have moved away from the Yorkville area, we will still make the trip out there for our grooming needs. I feel confident that they treat our dogs with care, kindness, and respect. I do not worry that the lil guy will get hurt or be mis-treated. Our neighborhood now is extremely dog-friendly and we tell people that it's more than worth the drive. Close Companion does very professional work and more than reasonable rates.

They even gave him a cute bandana on our way out! And at $10 for a wash and $5 for a nail trim, it was a steal! This will definitely be our go to spot next time Mackie needs a spa day :)
