Dr. Barnes is very profession and helpful. She alone deserves a five(5) star rating. The "sales department" on the other hand (Lisa), has to be one of the most pushy/insisting sales agents a used car dealership can ever ask for, as that's where she would flourish, instead of tarnishing Dr. Barnes' reputation and this establishment. After my initial exam, Lisa sold me on progressive lenses without any explanation that I would see only through 10% of the lens, unless I bob my head left right, up down. When I got the classes, she told me I need to get used to them. Three days after wearing the new glasses, still can't see clearly through left eye, or the remaining 90% of both lenses. I called it in and Lisa suggested: "Your vision must be extra sensitive". My insurance suggested I can return the glasses for a refund or retest/ remaking of lenses. Lisa stated over the phone to me "That is a false statement". She finally agreed to take me in to have an eye exam performed again. No surprise, the lens manufacturer she uses got the left one wrong compared to what Dr. Barnes prescribed. I requested the lenses be remade without the progressive feature which I cannot see through. No apology from Lisa and stated I will end up paying for the "progressive lenses" even though they will redo them without this feature. Looking at the price list of the lenses, and frames Lisa talked me into, everything is overinflated. Lisa stated the frames are "designer frames" that go for $210. I found the same exact frame for $75- to most expensive at Lens Crafters for $145. My insurance covered frames up to $175. I still had to pay an additional $28 for "Lisa's pricing" of the frames. The frames and lenses were priced at $967.00 of which I had to pay $447.00 after my insurance covered the rest of the cost. Visited my local Costco and after showing this receipt, they stated I could have purchased three pairs for what Lisa charged. Please be aware of the overpricing and inflexibility of this sales associate at this facility. It really is a shame. read more

I am a new patient with this office and dr. Barnes was very nice and patient with my daughter and myself and also the front desk lady was very nice .There is a lady by the name of Lisa who works there and yesterday I took my daughter in to have her frames replaced and Lisa took it upon herself to make a comment towards my 15yr old daughter about being irresponsible and accidentally breaking the frames . I had already spoken to my daughter about that and last i Checked if I pay for the warranty for the glasses that should not come with a discipline lesson from a staff member . This is actually the 2nd time this woman has spoken to my daughter in that matter . Again the dr is amazing and very personable but her worker Lisa needs to keep her comments to herself . I was looking forward to switching over to this optometrist. I called several times to make a new patient appointment and each time I was told someone would call me back, never happened. I even went as far as visiting the office to make an appointment at which time I was told because I needed one 2 weeks out and into the next month that I would need to call to schedule. I explained that I had called many times hence my office visit and was told not to worry. I tried one last time on Monday and called at 4pm again I was asked what type of insurance I had and advised VSP and again told someone wound call me back I asked if someone wound call back today and told yes. Unfortunately I never received a call. I ended up calling a optometrist in Menifee who immediately took my call and booked an appointment. I'm Not sure what the deal is with this office maybe they don't want to deal with VSP but I hope the Doctor is ware she is losing new patients. Today I took my daughter to her first optometry appointment. Lisa was awesome and extremely helpful. She provided excellent customer service. She made sure to make my daughter feel comfortable and even made sure my youngest daughter felt included. This place is clean and very professional, everything was done in a timely manner. I looked up on the Lions Club Website where I can go to donate my 3 old glasses since my place is only 450 sq feet and I may need to rent a room 200 sq feet. I thought I was doing a good deed by donating 3 pairs of old glasses to others that can't afford glasses. Apparently not. I 1st went to the American Legion since the Lions Club Website said I can donate my 3 old glasses there. Well, even though it says it opens at 12pm, that's not true. I called This C Barnes today, since the Lions Club Website said I can donate my glasses there. I called at 12:15pm today, and I was told to come between 2pm and 5pm. Fine. I was told to "Call before you come". Okay. So I'll called just before I left my apartment at 2:25pm. I guess that was not good enough for them? What do these people expect me to do? Hang from a tree and hang upside down like a monkey and do jumping jacks and announce that I'm coming from 150 feet away to do a drop of 3 pair of glasses? What is wrong with this company? Jesus Lord. Apparently people think I'm sick with no symotmps since the lady at the door said "back up". What? Back up? You have a mask on and I have a MEDICAL NOTE that clearly says I can wear a plastic shield. Your mask protects you - lady! I had IGG antibodies in Aug 2020 from an antibody test so I already RECOVERED FROM COVID. so that means I already had Covid sometime before July 2020 AND I got vaccinated with the JandJ in April of 2021. So why Back up? For what? This lady saying that implies she believes that I'm CONGAGIOUS and I'm not! I've LOVE for her to PROVE IT WITH EVIDENCE that I really am sick and CONGAGIOUS. When I arrived I was told to put the bag of glasses in the DIRT that was about 5 feet away from their door. Really? You can't take the bag of glasses FROM MY HANDS? WOW. That says a lot about how you view the general public. You are that against me? I'm little tired of people assuming that I'm sick and not ill - no symotmps and no one lives with me, no kids, no adult kids, I'm an only child, no spouse I LIVE ALONE, so WHAT RISK AM I TO YOU? STOP LIVING IN FEAR. If you fear, then you need to stay under a rock. Don't make me live under a rock --- since you live in fear. What is wrong with people ? Really? Stop listening to THE NEWS! I'll never come back here to donate glasses. I called them and told them 'If you wanted me to put the bag of glasses in the DIRT next to your door, then why accept my glasses at all? If you think I'm THAT CONTAGIOUS, then just through the glasses away since I touched them to put them in the bag". Really? This place has got another thing coming. Love this place. Been going for over 15 years. You won't find better service then here. Pay attention to all the positive reviews. That's all I ever experienced from here. Barnes is fantastic! Very thorough, patient, and gives every client the time they need during the exam. I love I don't feel rushed or in hurry to spit out the prescription and potentially get the wrong one. As for the rest of the team. They are also great. Very kind patient and helpful. Lisa was awesome helping me choose my frames and also went out of her way to keep me updated when ordering frames and contact lens and when they'll be arriving. I have been seeing Dr.Barnes since 1998 back when she was inside of walmart. She is an amazing Optometrist. I now have my kid seeing her time to time. He has to see a specialist every 3 months and has contacts and glasses prescription filled at Dr.Barnes office. The front office staff is so kind. They are always polite no matter how busy they are or no matter how much I call them. All the front girls are great but Lisa especially is amazing. She has always been on top of my sons chart and prescription orders. She calms me down when I stress over my baby boys eye problems. She is on top of her job and makes sure the office runs smoothly. I am so so so grateful for her and everything she does for my son and continues to do. If your looking for an optometrist office who's ontop of it, gets you taken care of, and makes you feel like family. I highly recommend you giving this office a chance!!!! Don't go here!!!! They have hidden charges and don't tell you. They push you in a corner so you have no choice but to pay. The Dr required another test that you have to pay out of pocket that is not necessary. And then when I said I would not do the exam and reschedule the money hungry Doctor Has the nerve to charge me a cancellation fee.
