Charmin Café in Crosby, Texas was a pleasant surprise. Again it was another one of these very nice restaurants set in a strip shopping center that's easy to overlook. Charming Café has both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. They sushi of several varieties; but they also have eggrolls, sweet-and-sour chicken and king pao chicken. The place is small, but not tiny. It's very unpretentious, but comforting. My wife had a selection off the lunch menu that featured, sweet-and-sour chicken, salad, fried rice , egg roll and crab puffs all for under nine dollars. I had the spicy Kung pao chicken, that is a house specialty with steamed rice. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive and the food came out hot and quickly . I was so impressed with the place, I got to go menu for future visits.

Hands down the best Chinese around. The shaggy dog, is AMAZING. & the orange chicken has the sweetest orange flavor. Don't forget the miso soup . Friendly customer service, clean, and YUM.

Checked out this spot while visiting some family in town. We were greeted and sat immediately in a cozy booth. There are also tables and a high top table by the sushi bar. We ordered drinks and started with the chicken egg roll as an appetizer. We both enjoyed the egg roll and then it was on to the main course. Hubby ordered his usual chicken and broccoli with fried rice. I ordered the Mongolian beef with steamed rice. Both dishes were flavorful, however, the beef was a little spicier than I'm accustomed to. Overall we had great service and great food at a reasonable price. We'll definitely stop by again whenever we're in the area.

Mongolian Triple Delight - It's savory! You really just can't get enough.

This is definitely my go-to when I'm looking for a good dinner, especially "Take-Out". I tried the Triple Delight and can't seem to move on from that. Their orange chicken it great and I love the Special Fried Rice. The portions are generous. Call it in or better yet, go and dine-in. Either way, you're in for a great meal.

The only indication that they are here is a street sign off of FM 2100 Near Highway 90. This is the first time I've been to this location. In the past, I've been to other locations and enjoyed the experience. However, I learned this location since Covid no longer has a buffet. So everything is ordered off a menu. Everything we tried from the won ton soup, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and fried shrimp seemed to be made to order. They were all hot, fresh and delicious. I'd heard not to many complementary things about this location in the past. I was told they now has new management with a new attitude. I would have to agree. The prices are good, and the food is great. Definitely better than most Chinese restaurants. I did notice that the prices at the Beltway 8 location were about 20 percent less. However, I think that location might be closed down. Anyway, I believe this is one of the better Chinese restaurants around for the price. The chicken was freshly grilled, the noodles tasted high quality, the portions are wonderful, and the service is good.

As we walked in the hostess/waitress looked at us and kept asking "what?" at least 4 times before she realized we wanted a table for 2. We were seated and we felt like we were inconveniencing the waitress as she seemed to not really want to be there at all. It felt like wanted to take our orders, and leave our table ASAP. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it did not seem like standard service. The "fresh" soup dumplings were so thick and chewy. Normally soup dumplings are supposed to be thin and delicate but these were the complete opposite. The beef noodle soup lacked flavor all around. I ordered it with wide noodles as the server told me they were around half an inch wide, my noodles came out and they were over an inch wide... which is not what I expected. The scallion pancake was the best item I had that night and that says a lot since it was probably frozen/pan fried. The poor service coupled with the food definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. I wouldn't go back or recommend this place to anyone as there are plenty of other soup dumpling restaurants in the Houston are
